Sounds like you need to check the.clutch, it appears to be slipping making the engine rev for no reason. While your at it, I'd also check the suspension, its a little droopy. Beautiful car. I miss my 86 Supra....
Had one that looked just like that. Mine had burgundy interior and the digital dash. Loved that car. Wish I would’ve kept it. It was in great condition too.

You are half correct. This is a copy and paste from a article about this.....While 1985 was to be the last year of production of the second generation model, the MK2, delays in production of the third generation model, the MK3 led to a surplus of second generation models. During the first half of 1986 the 1985 P-type was still offered for sale, with only minor cosmetic changes as well as the addition of a now mandatory rear-mounted third brake light on the hatch. These were all labelled officially as 1986 models. The P-type were the only model available for the 1986 model year. Production for the A60 Supra ended in December 1985 in order to make way for the upcoming A70 Supra. So that's why my car has the third brake light. The MK3 later that year was called year 86.1/2.

I have explained many times that the big mk3 1986 Supras were referred to as 86 & 1/2s by Toyota. The 86 mk2 was also the first (and only) mk2 with a third brake light.
This is a 2.5" setup with a Magna Flow, intake pipe from Ractor Racing with a test pipe instead of the catalytic converter. I also have the Doug Thorely headers.

Thanks. The guy driving it is a friend, the first time he was driving it. Car is lowered with coilovers.
