Cabinetry is definitely a Niche reserved for very experienced wood workers with patience and a very disciplined routine. There can be large sums of money for it, but it can be very daunting getting into it.

I just want something pretty simple. 50-60k a year. Not do production items. I lean a lot into the art and design style of woodworking. I would love to make that amount just doing custom items. Turning peoples ideas into reality.

Sales. NO Sales means No Revenue! It's all about Sales, everything else is noise. Leads can and often go Cold, a Sale is a Sale.

I'm trying to build my niche on higher end outdoor furniture, who would I try to build contacts with for that? I don't think interior design would help with outdoor items?

I have a question: how much discount would you give to interior designer or Architect?

I was reading one comment from Architect that they get millions of emails and they go straight to bin. Best way is to come and show your product personally or organise lunch with him or her.

This the 1st time I'd seen 1 of your videos. I thought you brought out some very interesting points.

This is a great video. I was shocked he didn’t mention anything about self employment taxes though… self employment taxes are going to dramatically eat into those profits. And, this is just part of your monthly expenses I suppose and maybe that’s why he didn’t mention it but health insurance can cost a lot. Even “low cost”/high deductible plans suddenly hurt a lot if you have to go to the doctor for anything meaningful. Anyway, well done! Keep it up.

Only upgrade your equipment when it DESERVES to be upgraded.

My family owns a lumber yard/hardware store and my father sent me to a competitor to pick up some lumber we needed to fill an order for a customer. I was amazed at how organized and clean the competitor’s yard was compared to ours even though we had an employee whose sole responsibility was organizing and cleaning, and he was ALWAYS busy. I mentioned it to my father and he just chuckled and told me our yard would be clean too if we weren’t so busy! A few years later the competitor was out of business and ours is still going strong.

Better advice has never been given!

Why stop there? Why not just outsource all the labor to someone else and have them dimension and assemble the project for you?

Look at the price of homes in your area and demographics, and 10-40% of home value is practical to furnish a home.

Your right we make things but don't need anyone putting pressure on the mind

Sooooo, you didnt make $1mil. You made 900k. Got it. So this is how you make $1 billion a year. Sell $100 million 10 times to 10 customers and you make 1 billion. Easy. Thats less than 1 customer a month. i will update you next year after we make that first billion.
