Farewell Trion

Farewell Trion comes to us from the playing of Mac Blaylock of Georgia. It’s a good tune to go slow on.
Oh Say

It's July 4th! And what's a holiday without some music? Lyrics: Chorus: Oh say can you see By the dawn’s early light What you’re doing to me By stepping out every night I can’t seem to leave Try as I might So I wait here alone For you to stumble home By the dawn’s early light What so proudly we hailed As a love strong and true Is now a thing abandoned Of no interest to you The neon’s red glare ...

I absolutely love this song, and it's really fun to play on mandolin. Gil and Dave are treasures.
Twenty Eighth of January

Here’s a little bit of that 28th of January. I first heard this toon on the Thanksgiving Google Doodle for 2013. It was being played by the Hillbillies from Mars, who got it from West Virginian fiddler Franklin George. Most versions have more of a minor key feel to them, but Frank’s version has more of a modal, dominant 7th vibe. Enjoy!

Here's my update of the old Ray Brothers tune "I Got the Jake Leg Too", retooled for these troubled times. Stay safe!
Niskayuna
มุมมอง 1002 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's my take on Niskayuna, a fiddle tune that comes to us from Adirondack fiddler Lawrence Older. There's only two recordings of it that I can find, the source recording by Larry and a version by Paul Friedman and Jody Kruskal. I really like this tune, and I hope more people learn it.

I have a tendency to overdo it when I indulge. Not to mention a tendency to indulge as a coping mechanism for depression and anxiety. Do I really need this in my life? Nah. soundcloud.com/painless-parker/bottle painlessparker.bandcamp.com/track/bottle
