Revell Arado Ar-555 Full Build 1/72
Been after one of these for some time but I wasn't paying the prices people wanted. Yes it is a very nice kit to build and looks great but way over priced in my opinion.
It' much smaller than I expected, you'll see in the video when I compare it to my 1/72 scale Ju-88. I had to take another look on the box because it looked more like a 1/144 scale.
Hope you like the video

How I slow propellers in my 1/72 models using resistors
มุมมอง 2.2Kวันที่ผ่านมา
I often get asked how I slow the propellers in my models to be more realistic. In this short video I show you what I do and my process of deciding which is best to achieve what I'm looking for. Although it is simple enough there are those that don't know and if you don't know, you don't know and I'm happy to help. Hopefully some will find it useful. What a great kit this is in standard form.It goes together very well and is a pleasure to build,I've built a number of them in the past.. This one is a little different though. A rare kit from 1997. It is quite a nice little model but not without a couple of minor problems. The front canopy for one and I found it a bit of a challenge to get fuselage together along with the engine covers on top. I motorised it using 2 Micro Motors, both are 4mm x 8mm in size and relatively easy to fit but with minor alterations. If you enjoy the video then Please Like and Subscribe Mike

My most tricky motorised model yet. I had to think about this one and almost built it as a static model. I'm glad I didn't I think it looks great. The Ju88 moulding goes back as far as 1991 and had raised panel lines and detail, not sure about the Me109 part of the the kit though. I went looking for a 1/72 Dauntless, I have never built one before. There is not much about in this scale. I didn't fancy the old Airfix kit, I'm not a fan of old Airfix kits. None of their 1/72 aircraft kits did, you would have to find one from the spares box or an aftermarket one. Keep up the good work.
Very nice work, just need to find a pilot figure for it. Looks a little more realistic when the props turning.

@307vrr omg what a small world but saying that Cwmavon is the centre of the universe lol! Yeah definitely let me know Mike 👍
The Heyford! Makes a brilliant & interesting subject for a model. But, have you ever thought - who designed this most impractical & ungainly aircraft? They must have been in the process of a mental breakdown!
@@MySteaming Yeh it is a bit different...but I like it. It stands out from the rest
It's very nice work. I think this is well done. But, The exhaust pipes are facing the wrong direction, but this is because the assembly instructions are incorrect. Many the Heyfords exhaust pipes are installed facing downwards and are combined into a horizontal exhaust pipe at the tip. The exhaust pipes in this kit do not have a combined exhaust pipe, so they must be installed facing downwards with the exhaust facing towards the rear. It seems that the person who wrote the assembly instructions mistook the base of the exhaust pipe in the aircraft photo for the combined exhaust pipe at the tip. Exhaust facing forwards would result in poor exhaust efficiency and reduced engine power, so this arrangement is completely impossible.
@@grifon7020Thank you 👍 I had a look online and they appeared correct but I only looked at a few grainy old photos with not much detail.
Wonderful job building and painting the Tempest. Motorizing it is on a higher level. Too bad no pilot figure....looks weird running without one. Happy hobbying. Bill

Wow! I have a Matchbox, Heyford! I was only looking for a simple build video to help me with mine when I found this! When your video said "motorised" I looked at my kit and thought, how the heck do you fit motors into this? Last time I motorised anything was back in the '70s and the motors were much bigger. Then you come out with the tiniest motors I've ever seen! Where do you get these? I might try this with my own Heyford as your result is super impressive. Well done! 🙂
@@Lambonights Thank you...👍 I get the motors on ebay, just search for Micro Motors. They tend to be very high rpm. I use 4x8mm, 4x12mm and sometimes 6x12mm but no bigger in my models. I did a dedicated video on how I slow the motors using inline resistors if you care to take a look... Good luck... Let me know how you get on.....👍
@@307vrr Thank you for the info! 👍
Loving your videos Mike, I have been motorising my models for quite a while but your method of fixing them is far better than my Milliput method. Also, how did you get each motor to spin in a different direction? Wondering if you crossed the wires when joining the two? Brilliant work, thanks!
@@1beagles Thanks mate...Glad you like 👍 Yes just swap the wires to one of the motors
This brings to mind one thing I very much liked about Matchbox's 1/72 airplane kits and tank and softskin kits, they have the guys! 😃 And a number of them were nicely detailed.
@@scottfw7169 The pilot figures you mean ? A number of kit makers stopped doing it for some reason...I notice they seem to be making a come back now though, which is good.
@@307vrr Yes, pilots, other crew, for whatever reason the reason is, it really bothers me when a model airplane kit has nobody home inside the airplane. And Matchbox's 1/72, 1/76, I forget which, military vehicle kits had some nicely done figures too.
Lovely job mate
