    The nonchalant delivery of the the line "...and because I have poisoned your drink!" - Masterfully done! Londo is GOAT!

    I've seen variations of the spelling of Molari, Refa, Delan, and Linear. What is the correct spelling?

    The fatal triangle. Mollari, Refa, and Morden.

    i don’t really understand why londo even explains that he’s been poisoned. what’s the point of a two-part poison? if you need the second dose, you need to poison them again. if you want to poison them again, you shouldn’t threaten them with poison. it just doesn’t make sense to me. maybe some sort of airborne gas could be administered into a crowded room and only he would die from it? that’s useful. i could see that.

      He also plays with the notion that could be anyone who gives him the poison, could be your friend that has been infected with the other part without knowing coul be on your food or the air you breathe could happen while you are asleep, that threat is just too much , thats the reason why refa accepted so quickly from that point mollari had the upper hand no point in arguing that he won this one

    Sounds like Hitler. Germany was doing quite well until they turned on their ally the USSR to try and make the USSR a vassal state and take their resources and labor for their own.

    For those that has seen the pilot, this is a great throwback. Like with Sinclair and G'Kar (beep!), there is no first poison. Imagine what Reefas physicians will put him through trying to find something that isn't there?

    "Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts!" The United States has decided to support Ukraine. The United States has decided to support Israel. "Only the heir, to the throne, to the Kingdom of idiots fights a war on Twelve fronts!" "Former President Donald Trump urged Russia to invade “delinquent” states in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which disturbed the head of the military alliance and allied countries."

    But… there’s no point in there being a first part of the poison. Refs only dies on the second dose. This is literally no different than just saying “if you don’t, I’ll get someone to poison you”.

  • @gutar5675
    @gutar5675 ปีที่แล้ว

    What a dumb concept. What is the point of a two-part poison? It would accomplish the exact same thing to say that he will have him poisoned in the future if he doesn't comply with his demands. The only difference is that, in this case, he is specifying exactly what poison he'll use and how he will get it to him.

    I liked Lord Reefa simply because he had a Centauri accent. Most of the actors that played Centauris didn't bother trying to match the way that Londo spoke.

    It's amazing how Refa so obliviously takes a drink offered to him from a person he knows has a less than friendly disposition towards his cause. He obviously wasn't as clever or ruthless as he thought or he'd have Londo eliminated as soon as he secured Mr. Morden's assistance. That happens when you fail to tie up loose ends.

    Great dialogue, great actors. But why oh why did the directors chose to set it up in a café with a lot of people? They should have chose a more private venue.

  • @elvellian6431
    @elvellian6431 ปีที่แล้ว

    The acting and dialogue in this scene is superb. But, if you think about it, the logic of Londo's threat doesn't make much sense. Put simply, to harm Refa, Londo still needs have the second half of the poison placed into his body. Unless and until he does this, Refa is in no danger. Accordingly, Refa can instantly just place Londo under the exact same identical threat: unless you do what I want, I will have one of my agents infect you with a fatal poison that will be fatal in just one dose (ie, the Centauri equivalent of Cyanide). Thus, Londo does not actually have any more power over Refa than Refa has over Londo. It would make more sense if the substance Londo placed in Refa, while not harmful now, will become harmful in, say, five years time. Then, Londo would have power. He could effectively say - do my bidding for five years, and I'll give you the antidote. Defy me, and after five years you will die horribly and in pain.

      And there doesn't need to be any poison at all.... Imagine Reefa's doctors trying vainly to identify and eliminate the "first part". Imagine him trying vainly to get rid of something that isn't there in the first place. The continual worry about everything he eats or drinks. Of course, events will go as they will, and it's been long enough I don't remember the twists of this part of the story, but I do know two part poisons exist and Mollari would know about them. And devious enough to mention them without using them.

    Refa wasn't written here to play the game with Londo. Otherwise, he might have replied to Londo poisoning him thusly: "Funny thing, Londo. That looks exactly like the poison that Mr. Morden's associates put in your own food shortly after they arrived on Homeworld. They also tell me that they have an antidote for it. Pretty interesting, yes? Perhaps you should rethink your position on this issue? (getting up from the table) Have a great day, Ambassador Mollari."
