It used to be better, of course, it did. In the golden age of the High Republic, when there was enough to eat and enough hope, when people could lift their eyes and see beyond the horizon, beyond the day. Children were born happy and grew up rich. Now that’s not what we’ve got. Now we’ve got Jakku. A harsh desert world, Jakku is a lawless place that’s home to thieves, outlaws, and refugees. Dur...

Love this! I'm just starting to DM. Do you share at all materials from runs?
Thanks, @RaffiQueer! CBR+PNK's designer has shared a Google Sheet, which is pretty much all I used. You can get a free copy of the Google Sheet here: emanoelmelo.itch.io/cbrpnk-core Good luck!
@@RichardRogersorklord oh really cool! I loved how you consolidated the rules! I bought the physical copy of CBR+PNK but my dyslexia is hardcore so I'm always looking for people who lay things out differently lol. That's why I was curious if you'd share your improvements. Thank you for playing!
Glad you had fun!
Giant cringe
nice!
Its been 2 weeks, was lookin forward to the next episode. Hope everything is ok?
Sadly, scheduling killed the rest of the series. Next week is the start of a game set on Jakku!
What tools do you use for the game? I assume, from the words of players, there's some map or platform they use to see different routes to the goal
Another memorable adventure in a galaxy far, far away with no need for licensed Star Wars rules. 👏👏 If you don't mind me asking have you tried "Star Scoundrels" by Nathan Russell (author of Tomorrow City) published by Peril Planet Game Studio?
I am literally playing in a play-by-post of Star Scoundrels right now!!!
If anyone can make 2400 work well for Star Wars, it would be Rich and gang 🙂
Star Wars Saturday on a Bank Holiday weekend. I'm living the dream, I tell ya!
A great concept for an RPG that I hope to try someday
Great video, can't wait to watch next episode! Is the character keeper available online?
grab a copy from the Play Aids folder! Play Aids: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15EvZX4crugdw5bawT9GUdGyWOAxHO5HN7dEQ5ds9OJc/edit#gid=512372323
Ahh, SWS. Now I know the weekend is really here. 😀
So glad to see SB&CS come up in the rotation, look forward to getting through this episode in a few sessions and then hearing any following ones.
I'm still trying to catch up on allllll these. Maybe I'll treat myself to a recent episode then go back to the catch up.
hey, im currently trying to binge watch every SWS episode. is there a discord for the gauntlet? is the gauntlet still a thing?
hey @orkcol, excited to hear that you're digging SWS! It's been a great run so far. Yes, the Gauntlet is a thing, you can find them at www.gauntlet-rpg.com/. I've left the Gauntlet and run games at the Open Hearth Gaming community, which is here: openhearthgaming.com/
This was so good to watch. I think I need to binge watch the other star wars sessions you have done.
lol
Great stuff guys, super cool!!
Wow, happy 6th anniversary, Star Wars Saturdays! Bounty of the Week sounds promising 🙂 Curious though... Which TTRPGs fit/plays well with SW?
oh @JonasSusara, the list is LONG! My list of TTRPGs played set in SW is up to 86! Lots of games fit well with different kinds of SW stories. Apocalypse World, MoonPunk, Neon City Overdrive, Thrilling Adventures, Impulse Drive, Red Air, Cartel (aka Hutt Cartel), and my own hack of 1%er called Swoop Gangs are some of my favorites.
Thank you. I am Running this in two weeks. This will help me a ton.
Really great players! Super responsive group. I wish there was more of this group and system. I think it's a particularly clear example of PbtA style with a very well-known aesthetic. Super enjoyable, nicely done.
Glad you enjoyed it, there are two more sessions with this group. Agreed, they're wonderful!
Hello, I Hope you are well. Just wanted to send a quick message to say, I have been watching your video`s for about 2 years now and I really enjoy them. I am an avid fan of Star Wars and you and your friends remind me alot of how my friends and I used to hang out and play role playing games. Brings back lots of fond memories for me.Thanks so much and take care.
Thanks for the note, it was so thoughtful of you. I'm glad you're enjoying the SWS games!
More!
Hi! Just so you know, your impulse drive playlist is in the wrong order, love the videos! Thanks for making them and sharing the system and your games with us!
I'll take a look at the playlist, thanks for the note. Glad you enjoyed the miniseries!
That was awesome folks! Thanks fo much for giving Trash Planet a go. I was pleasantly surprised it fit so well for a Star Wars game. Was great to see you have a good time 😊
It was a really fun time!
Hi Rich. Sorry to reach out through a comments section but I couldn't find you on twitter. I wanted to ask you opinion on Simple World by Avery Alder. I really like it on a read through, I feel like it could be a kind of GURPS for PbtA. But I don't have enough experience of PbtA (I have a bit) to know whether it will work just by completing game and making some moves with the players. Have you played or read it? Does it 'work' or does it need a lot to get it working? Thanks for any advice.
hey @smittumi ! In the future, you can reach me on Mastodon at dice.camp/@orklord Simple World works fine, but it's really a starter tool to build your own game. PbtA, in my opinion, SHOULDN'T be a generic system. It works best when the mechanics are tuned to the specific setting or genre of the game you're playing. Hope that helps.
oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you. Nightcrawler is my favorite of all time!!!! YAY!
I love Primetime Adventures! Let's see if you can handle the game. It's not for everyone. :D
I'm curious, after 2 years have you come across another similar RPG system that does "rust hulks" better than Rust Hulks does itself? (ie the lo-sci-fi space crew drama). I'm aiming at minimal rules, good story, fun outcomes, easy GM prep, easy to understand for players. I'm a bit concerned that the drama "chains" in this are a bit too dominant? I can't really get a read on that yet ;) I'm also wondering why there's hardly any internet chatter about Rust Hulks play sessions, it seems like a good system for short games at least - but hardly any traction. Maybe the XP system is a bit too "long term" focused, I can't see a game being too many sessions before the novelty wears off.
Rust Hulks is pretty great. I got to play in a four-session series of it this January and it still holds up. The GM of that series and I have talked about trying to hack RH for something more stationary (Rusty Stations) because RH is so focused on the crew and their relationships, while we like recurring NPCs and a sense of place. I'm entirely not sure why it doesn't get more play, to answer your question. The shipbuilding is very focused on a face-to-face group, so that's a factor, I'm sure. The chain relationships are so very interesting to me, but they do take some time to work in play. Glad you gave the series a listen/watch!
I love the idea of sitting in a music store, listening to some good tunes, and then opening your eyes and the artist is just sitting there staring at you expectantly.
Wait, that was YOU? Dangit, I thought it was just another one of those scam calls with the phony caller ID, and I'd answered too many of those that day.
Great session! So sorry I couldn't be there.
best play of this game ive seen so far, perfect mix of players and gm, no stolen spotlights, no long hangups, just smooth, real gameplay, better than I would expect from a scripted show honestly
Thanks, Jaedn!
Hail Hydrofoil! ::two-fisted salute::
Excited to check this out! I’ve been wanting to play this game since Kyle kindly asked me if I wouldn’t mind being included as a villain!
that's so cool!
So, when are you going to get around to playing amazing tabletop role-playing games with your enemies instead? Don't your enemies deserve some consideration? ;)
But do they? DO THEY???? (your comment made me laugh heartily)
@@RichardRogersorklord Treasure your enemies, sir! Sometimes, they are the only people you can rely on!
Amusing👑. Do not get left behind = 'Promo SM' !!
Love the concept - huge fan of Blades - thank you for streaming this
I hope you're digging it
SMASH TV D&D, I LIKE IT!
I'd love to play.
Woohoo! I'll have to watch this! Your link in the Starscape Discord brought me here!
I'm on a spotify marathon of +1foward since I discovered that it exists (because it's absolutely awesome) Luckily I found this video and could see your faces for the first time :) Love your work s2
Thanks so much, Luiz! I'm glad you dig it. I'll let Rach know you're enjoying the show.
After having seen all four episodes, just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I used to play the Star Wars RPG quite a bit, back in the day. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
Thanks for watching @the80sguy! Lots more Star Wars on my channel
Really enjoyed watching all three episodes, I`ve played alot of Star Wars in the past. Thanks for the nostalgia
You guys are awesome! I loved your first encounter especially. One of the things I love about PbtA is that the story gets BETTER when you fail; and this is a perfect example. Also, I don't think I ever realized how much the actual Star Wars movies are just RIFE with failure; but I realized it watching you guys, because you failed all the damn time, and it felt like I was watching Star Wars, lol!
Ohhh... that's cool.. do you have a 1.6 version available?
here you go, Shane! docs.google.com/document/d/1OXeHqSYpZdbvLiuEpLRfNN53b1XcuG6fTafW_JmEJMA/edit?usp=sharing
I decided to rewatch this one before the episode, as I'd not been able to watch them the first time around. I really hope the eating-while-talking is a one-time issue... 1:28:50 Did someone forget to link the document?
It is. Sorry.
Thanks a lot guys. This is the only play video I've watched that wasn't DJed by Dave Kizzia. You guys did the system and the genre proud. I'm going to use So77 in a "80s TV crime" campaign, and seeing this gives me a good handle on how to balance DJ moves with the ebb and flow of player agency. It was great fun.
Will the game be released to the public or is it only on Patreon?
