    Is there's an adjuster on this car?

    I’ve got one with a broke guide on top not sure what else but it runs great only rattles for maybe a minute at first start up could I possibly just replace the tensioner and other piece and maybe make it last a little longer? Can’t really afford a complete timing chain replacement right now and car runs great but haven’t drove it since I realized parts were broken.

    Actually show what wire goes where. You didn't point to anything or explain the relay. Useless video !!

    So the only way to install the stretch belt with this method is by pulling the motor out cool bout to fxckin go off an engineer at this point I’ve tried using the tool and it stretches the belt so much that it literally stretched until it snapped and the belt broke so explain to me the science behind this and the ziptie method cause I have tried both and nothing is working

    i saw a video yesterday a mechanic didn't work as hard , . . . he cut the metal tubes close to the core exit and took it off ! ! joint them with rubber and clamps , looks ok to me ?

  • @hunterwelch7697
    @hunterwelch7697 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So just replace the tensioner?

    • @mechanicmikevaal
      @mechanicmikevaal ปีที่แล้ว

      You could as long as the guides haven't broken off as the top of this one had.

    • @JCGible
      @JCGible ปีที่แล้ว

      I just did the chain and guides. You need to remove the oil pan and clean the debris out of the intake pipe and sceen. I also replaced the oil pump. My engine runs well after the replacment parts but has a tick on the drivers side. It also has bouts of ignition symptoms and wants to run rough at idle.

    Definitely don't need special tool.. I just did my 2008 T-Rex belt this way except used two zip ties (black probably 1/4" wide), one through one hole, one through another then just turned the crank, belt popped right on and then I just snipped the zip ties off with side cutters and was done.. No damage to the belt and it worked Great !! 👍

    About to do my 2008 T-Rex belts and hadn't thought of this.. I'm going to try to simplify it one step further and instead of fumbling around with a hose clamp why not just zip tie it ?? It will conform to the pulley even better and then just snip it off I'm thinking.. Well ill know in a little while..🤔

    • @sidneyvines7689
      @sidneyvines7689 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The zip ties break easily...trust me...I broke about 7 of them trying to get this belt on

    • @swalowit
      @swalowit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sidneyvines7689 Huh... Must have been tiny zip ties.. I ended up using two zip ties (black probably 1/4" wide), then just turned the crank, belt popped right on and then I just snipped the zip ties off with side cutters and was done.. No damage to the belt and it worked great for me.. 👍 Just curious what color were the Zip Ties ?? I saw on "RoadKill" (the zip tie kings lol) one time during there Zip Tie moment, he said always use black zip ties then saying for some reason any other colors don't seem as strong.. So curious if there's truth to that ??

      If you need more clearance take the motor mount off and keep a jack with a piece of wood on the oil pan and lower the engine very gently and you’ll have more clearance but you shouldn’t need to do that anyway
