I love those planes.I painted the fiberglass fuselage of my Bridi UFO using monokote colored paint. With Midnite blue matalic paint over white.I miss that plane I sold it back in 1985 for a hollow fuel injection for my 84 Pontiac Fiero.
I love the classic sleek and sexy pattern planes.I don't care a thing about those giant scale fat extra 260s,300s etc.Give me a UFO,Carere,Tiporore or mach 1 any day.
Another comment,I still have an MRC 765 5 channel radio with the long antenna and 2 color frequency flag (ribbing). My was Brown/white 72.080mhz.God I miss those times!!
This is the kind of flying I live for.Now I'm stuck with a modern V900 sport plane.I used to have a Bridi UFO.I learned to fly with a Carl Goldberg Skylark.I shortened the wingspan and installed an enya 45 back in 1985.
If you're worried about thinning the paint for weight savings you should really invest in a higher quality gun. You'll minimize the amount you put on and have a more consistent and better coverage
Super cool Kevin. I'm 52 years old now, and used to watch my dad compete with his Mach 1. It was a way better era back then compared to the goofy looking f3a stuff thats out there now ( in my opinion). Just wish I could find a Mach 1 to restore or build. Keep up the cool vids, cheers from Canada.
A SCUBA tank first stage regulator drops the 3000 psi tank pressure down to 125 psi..... A simple standard gate valve or a secondary regulator on the end of the gun brings that down into the 25-30 tip pressure.... as long as you have a first stage regulator that will get it from 3000 down to the mid hundreds the rest is easy.
Kevin, I remember you from the mile square park days. I used to fly my phoenix 8 there. I used to talk to Craig millet for advice . I think you were just getting into the hobby back then. Like your phoenix . Great paint scheme.
For those of you drooling, I have had the rare privilege of flying this airplane, and nothing (in 38 years of experience) comes close...... Thank you Kevin.
So what happened to this channel? Just dropped off the planet!
nah ong tho
luv that old pattern sound
Nothing and I mean nothing beats the looks and graceful lines of a vintage pattern plane. The current pattern planes look like crap!
so glad it's in 240p!!!

Anyone notice the 72mhz radio he was rocking? Til this day I still fly with a Futaba 72mhz radio.

I enjoy my SATA guns but the expercise has been to get people in and off the spray cans. Getting them to invest $30 has been challenging.
well done loko were are you now...
Thank you for this video! Very informative!
Старье так уже не летают

Is Wings West system still in business ?? Awesome video by the way ..
Beautiful model. Nice work on the sticks too.
WOuld a nitrogen tank work as well?
Is Wings West still around?
I would love to see how you regulate a 2000 psi dive tank down to the detail gun at 25-30! Neat set up.
A standard diving regulator has 2 ports on high one low. The low is 150 psi.
