This kite was a personal gift from the maker of the kite Steve Tapp. I never met him in person, but corresponded with him while he was creating the Enigma. Steve died of cancer 3 years back. It's rare to meet someone so passionate and generous, I think of him whenever I fly this amazing flying machine.

This is exactly what I needed to see Tom. You are doing backspins and I can see you hand movements.. I downloaded the video and I will cut it up to study.. weather lousy past week and half No Flying.. The weather is better to day but beach was soaked...going to work the backspin next time out..Now I can see which way to tug the spin..

Are there low wind kites and high wind Delta kites?

@Jon. Yes, this is Kite Hill at Magnuson Park in Seattle. It's a beautiful place to fly.

Pt he song is "Lookout" by Orgone. The video really captures the nature of the kite - full on fun, reliable, trick monster! :)

This one is more for competition, but is also very very tricky. It has great precision, a full sail feeling to it, and tazs nicely. Great speed control, flys slower than FL

Thanks for the comment! There are many amazing kites out there that have been introduced in the last 6 years with tricks, such as these, as part of the design criteria. One of my favorites is Lam Hoac's (Skysport Design) Transformer TL which I also have a video of in flight - it is one sweet ride! :)

awesome video man great flying im just getting in to stunt kites but i dont know what to get what would you recommend i have flown stunt kite once but that was 6 years ago have some pilot time thanks mark

@WILKY422 Thanks. I just shot this yesterday. In Seattle, we rarely get much snow and usually only in December; so this is quite unusual.

ime impressed 8 yrs old well done ive been flying just over a year and ime still learning trying to fade etc, the weather here is so up & down only got out today first time for weeks sunny & windy.

This is a small field - the lines were about 60-65' which is fun for playing around doing tricks.

GreyDawg, QPro beats the pants off the E2/E3. This vid was shot in pretty low wind, certainly much less than 6, probably 3.5 or so.

Thanks!. This field is small, so I typically use 75' lines which I like for tricking. I always use 90# lines with Fearless even in high winds with much longer lines.

BTW - glad you liked the sail sounds! I do as well. It's almost like a fingerprint. All my favorite kites each have a distinct sound to the sail popping. I could tell which one by that sounds alone!

Yes, kite hill for sure! It is where I fly most of the time. This was shot when the wind is at its worst - coming from the West through the trees. From the North, it's just heavenly. The South is also good, but only at the bottom of the hill. East is also good, but space can be limited. Then, there are days like today where it changes all 4 directions every 45 mins. It really makes me appreciate those sweet ocean winds when I go to Ocean Shores or Longbeach! :) Do you know kite hill?

kite hill, yes? I like that you kept the original audio... there's a certain allure in the sound a kite makes as it snaps through maneuvers bravo!
