We just paid $70 per adult ticket for the Monet and Van Gogh one in Austin. They just turned on the projectors and played the films on 4 walls of a big open room with some columns, also with projections. Lasted about an hour and 5 minutes. Shamelessly overpriced. I would have liked it a lot more but if it were $25, but I had the bad taste of someone being ripped off.

You were unlucky. The one I saw in Sydney Australia was fantastic and certainly better than the miserable event depicted here.

I think the exhibit is for people who are just starting to dip into famous artists. This was a great introduction into the life and works of Van Gogh for someone like me who has worked in classical music my whole life and am just now starting to get interested in visual arts and Van Gogh specifically. I enjoyed the stark soundscape and the interesting but brief captions. I am not emboldened to look deeper into the life and works of the artist, and I think that’s the intended audience. Obviously an art purist would just want more detail, and admittedly our experience was much tidier than this one, but to poo-poo it altogether is missing the point

Your fireplace shelf is lovely. Some of the pieces are so interesting they might look good less layered and more spaced out to showcase their unique lines. Maybe layer one small vignette with photos off-center and then space out the other items for balance

The ticket website is also a problem, they auto add kids ticket if you are not careful. Yo have to start over as their is no way to edit the cart.

Well at least they are bringing his art to masses and attention I’m not an art snob but I have an understanding of it through all my high school and college time I appreciate they show the common folks

I jus visited it yesterday and it wasnt as bad as this one. The one i visited was held by Fever in Seoul, South Korea. One thing i do agree about is that they didnt do their work justice. Eventhough the quality of the media art was alot better than the one you showed in this video, i feel like it could have been alot better and more immersive. But my ticket was only 10 usd so i dont feel bad about it 😅😅 but it took 2 hours to get there from Seoul city, i just wish it was more central and not outside of the city!

Not worse than the Willy Wonka exhibit in the UK. (If you don’t know about the you really should look it up. Huge miss)

I saw it in Bordeaux , it was 20,000 sq ft, we had wine, laid on huge floor cushions and we were truly immersed,, my mother said she would have paid $1000 for the experience❤🇨🇵

You missed the best part of the entire exhibit - the VR experience which was honestly one of the most breathtaking moments of my life

Terrible exhibit. Wasted about $200 bringing my eight year old to see my favorite artist in this “immersive” experience. 🙄 It could not have been more low budget, unpleasant, overpriced, boring with no place to sit and even attempt to enjoy the art in a giant auditorium/gymnasium with a couple giant cubicle style walls slapped together with nausea inducing projectors hitting every iimch of the room combined with insanely loud, high pitched music that had ZERO sound dampening making it intolerable. My daughter and I were both motion sick after 10 minutes and had to leave so I could throw up in the parking lot. We tried going back in but both got nauseous moments after entering the room. I’ve never been so incredibly let down by an art exhibit and when I wrote an email politely explaining my daughter and i’s unfortunate experience I was told “sorry nothing we can do”. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASHY, EXPLOITATION. You’re better off buying a coffee table book of Van Gogh or Monet’s work.

American companies doing weird Dutch artists "experiences"... Unfortunate, hopefully there are better ones.

EMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE IS WHAT YOU GET IN VAN GOCH MUSEUM OR ANY ODER ONE WITH SOME OF HIS MASTERPIECES (THERE ARE AT LEAST 100 OF THEM)

well inform urself before u fgo if its looks shady dont go and those exhibition are always pushed by the citiy so there will be official sites and locations

You should attend the OG of all Vangogh Immersive Experiences. It’s in Paris. Check Ateliers Des Lumieres. Every one copied from their art.

Found this video because I was looking for an honest review of the van gogh alive. all "legit vlog" reviews gave it all stars but the actual exhibit is worse than this one in your area. Van Gogh Alive BGC in Manila, Philippines was like a scam and a waste of money.

It was one of the best art experiences of my life and I have lived all over Europe. 😮

I visited the one in London! We had the giant van gogh head sculpture at the start of exhibition, the immersive room had the ceiling look exactly like stars in the night sky which was really amazing watching. And the music accompanying in the immersive room was well selected. My family totally enjoyed, even my 3 old son ))

I went to this one in October last year. I was in London on a Sunday morning and everything else was closed. I love Van Gogh's work but this was so disappointing. It was vastly overpriced & I actually felt angry at myself for wasting quite a bit of amount of money.

I couldnt agrée more - i think some people might like these gimmicky ´experiences’ but it’s definitely not for people who actually like the original works. It is definitely disrespectful and really took away everything that was moving/inspiring. It annoyed me how someone can misrepresent/misinterpret these artists…

I’ve been to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam both to view the collection and to attend educational events - the paintings don’t look like that !! The event should be ashamed!

Dam they really put a lot more work into the one in San Diego. The one in San Diego was amazing similar but definitely better quality, and this one seemed a lot cheesier. Then the one I went to in San Diego.

The one in London Spitalfields is excellent! I went recently and loved it so much I sat through the main show twice. The gift shop was pants though, missed opportunity there. I'd love to see the Monet one but it's all £££

this is strange, here in Chile the immersive "video" is completely different, and only made by the paintings as if they were alive, it is very dramatic, with classic music and every painting is all around and alive, moving. I thought the experience itself was interesting and something new as I have not been to anything similar before, and the experience provided the opportunity for good pictures/videos. However, the experience felt a little empty, especially considering the price of 28 bucks, and from what I see from your video, yours was significantly more developed than the one I was on. The one I was at was a mini version of the one you visited, as the one I visited had fewer screens on the floor and on the roads, and the flower room was really tiny.

I hate how they are commercializing Van Gogh. Brought to you by the same people who hang a Sunflowers print above their toilet. Not cool.

I did enjoy the immersive experience in Bangkok. However, for 1000 Baht (about 30 USD) it's WAY overpriced for a 40 minute video presented on several walls at once. I was not at all disappointed by it, in fact I think the artist would like it a lot, because its very emotional (as the artist always has been throughout his live), but it's just absurdly overpriced (especially in Bangkok where rental space is a joke compared to basically any other city on the planet). Rather watch it for free on TH-cam.

I'm going to Van Gogh Alive Experience in JKT next Monday. Will lower my expectation due to some negative reviews from those coming last weekend. I hope Monday would be better!

Don't hate the artist, world recognise him great cause it saw greatness in his art. Van Gogh suffered yet created historical significance

I thought it was ok. The price definitely killed it. $15 would have been good. I was interested in experiencing the paintings at a large scale as I am interested in interior design, and I did. That was my takeaway, otherwise, would not go back.

The putting-on of glasses and "walking through" Van Gogh's paintings and environments was the whole point of the show. If it hadn't been for that, I'd say yeah, it was pretty crappy.
