Haha the spelling of "shiny" you used ( shiney) for rice is exactly my name
Yep. I always catch myself too later on that one. I have always struggled with remembering whether it needs an 'e' or not. Glad you caught it. You definitely caught one of my 10,000 blunders in these videos, LOL. Good catch! 🤣
@@carlrosa1130 well my dad made the same mistake and my name is "Shiney" ( real name lol )
@@silviagonzalez1814 Ha Ha. That's awesome! And thanks for the comment, too. I hope you enjoyed the video.
What a great ,i rarely ever comment, but this content really made me to
Thank you so much. As I indicate within the video description, you can add many more things to it - fish roe, paprika, etc....but this was the most basic and easy spicy mayo to make at home. I keep it simple. 🙂
Hi Carl, your video is amazing! It confirms my thoughts on Japanese products, for example. I bought some Japanese stationery and I was extremely impressed by its quality. Whereas the stationery that I might purchase at a local store is often junk and of poor quality. Even stationery that is considered “cheap” by Japanese standards is amazing, in my opinion.
It's a phenomenal place. The mindset of their overall lifestyle translates...every through inexpensive stationary. Thanks so much for the comment!
Apple made small changes but yearly and they were critisized!
No, I don't think you understand the 'small changes' and how they apply. Apple most certainly doesn't use Kaizen.
You were wonderful! Thank you!
Thank YOU for the comment!
Excelent! Thank you! I'm looking forward to chapter 2.
Thank you for the comment. I'm very slowly working on the second video...and using Kaizen to do it. It will take time...but it will be PERFECT. 🙂
Crazy how their sworn enemies (China) cannot live up to these awesome qualities. Respect
Culture, combined with history, is extraordinarily complicated. Thanks for the comment.
Got the JR pass 5 years ago when I last went. It was totally worth it and includes JR lines in Tokyo IIRC. But come again this time and they have increased the price so it was not worth it. So got separate fares instead. You need to go through with two tickets - fare ticket and express ticket and put them through the barrier before going onto the Shinkansen. If you’re going to multiple destinations like we did - Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and then back to Tokyo then there can be multiple tickets and can get confusing. Just check you have them all before leaving from Tokyo.
Thank you for the comment. I respectfully disagree about the second part of your comment. When someone is visiting Japan for the first time (which is what my channel is all about) and they've never stepped foot into Japan before, they will not understand the intricacies of separate fares, fare ticket and express ticket, etc. When someone visits Japan for the first time and they are planning to visit multiple cities, the cost savings and basic convenience of a standard JR Pass are immeasurable. Thanks again for the comment.
@@carlrosa1130 I would have spent £400 for the journies I did. Buying separate fares cost around £200. So in my case it was not worth the JR pass this time. If I was going more than the destinations then yes, but it would have be a lot more than the 4 I did this time round.
@@badabing8884 I understand...and thank you for the comment! Did you enjoy Japan?
Great video! How long does this ginger last?
Thanks for the comment! About 3 months or longer. It will mature with age until it has a fantastic flavor...but after 4 months, I would be skeptical.
cool :)
Could you imagine the traffic if all these people drove
That’s where hatchikos statue is there! I always wondered 😮 wanted to see it myself. Such a sad movie too❤ 🐾
There are actually two Hachiko Statues in the area - one is at the Shibuya Station and one is in front of Tower Records, about 3 blocks away from the same train station.
thank you for making this video, this is good content. please make more!
Working on more now! :)

Awesome sound
After city behemoths like New York and Moscow this should be normal. But asian design is so confusing and overwhelming, it becomes a few times harder than it's suppose to be.
I have to admit that you're right. I've been in New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, London and China. And I can say that Japan takes time to learn.
@@carlrosa1130 , you should try Moscow metro. It's incredibly easy to use despite being on par with huge asian metros.
I'm Japanese and thank you for respecting and understanding our culture! We have pros and cons but efficiency is one of my favorite parts of our culture and I'm glad you are sharing the ideas with many people through this video.
Thank you very much. It takes me a long time to complete a video. Not only do I have to create the topic, but I have to film many parts while in Japan and slowly begin putting it all together when I return to my home in America. One video may contain filming that was completed two years earlier. I want to sincerely, thank you for your kind words. I am honored.
@@carlrosa1130 Oh that's amazing and I look forward to watching the next ones! I'm so glad you do this because most of foreign people just film foods and entertainment but not many people don't talk about what underneath them, like the spiritual part and how it works practically. And it actually make our lives better. So thank you, I really appreciate what you are doing!
@@luluflowers9277 Truly, the pleasure is all mine. Coming up soon (videos) is - Understanding Real Wasabi (Hon Wasabi), The Principle Philosophy of Wabi Sabi and the art of Kintsugi. 😀
Great video. Very informative with regards to the Kaizen philosophy. However, I believe the video fails to present Masaaki Imai's contributions to the philosophy, namely the founding of the Kaizen Institute. If my research is correct, W. Edwards Demming introduced standards of quality to Japan. His teachings emphasized quality and proper management. Whereas Masaaki Imai introduced the idea of continuous improvement. Masaaki's method of Kaizen was used to achieve Demming's standards of quality.
I failed to add a lot of things. :) I have to make decisions what to keep in and not keep in to ensure the video isn't 45 minutes long. I wanted to mention the Kaizen Institute, Masaaki Imai, Edwards Deming's struggles and refinement of Kaizen as well as Gemba, Muda, Kobestsu Kaizen, 5S, Cross-functional mgmnt, etc. But I have to keep the videos basic for beginners and not too long. Thank you again for your comment.
This is fantastic! Thank you for making this and explaining it in this way!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. My mother's family is from Shiozawa and a couple of cousins work in Echigo Yuzawa. It's a nice place to visit and is absolutely beautiful in winter (snow season).
You better run if you're late crossing I've been here!
Thank you for your correct informations! (By the way, I still think sushi is rather special dish. It depends on what kinds of sushi and where/when you eat. Kaiten-zushi and supermarket take-out sushi are very handy for everyday meals nowadays. But those authentic sushi bars cost a lot, so they are very special for normal people. My family had a very good sushi in sushi-oke from our old caterer only on special occasions like funeral, memorial service and my father's retirement party. On the other hand, Chirashi-zushi is for other casual occasions like Hina-matsuri and birthdays, Futo-maki and Saba-zushi for Children's Day.)
Thank you for your comment!
No.1 - The cooperation mindset might have come from living in small areas. (70% of Japan is forests and mountains.) People had to work together to survive in the small villages and towns. There are still some systems like "Jichi-kai/自治会 (voluntary community group)" in local communities, hosting Obon festivals and women's/children's/sinior citizen's group, community cleaning and so on. In general, many people tend to think "If I do this, would it bother someone? (他の人に迷惑をかけない。)"
Japan is indeed beautiful and amazing. Thanks for valuable lessons
The pleasure is all mine. Thank you for commenting.
I remember the days of junk American cars. That's why I only drive Hondas and Toyotas today.
Hi, nice content. I planned to go to Japan next December. What about local public transportation in Echigo Yuzawa? thanks
Hi there! This is the best route to take: (1) hop onto the bullet train at Tokyo Station. Take one train to Ueno Station. At Ueno Station, take the Joetsu Bullet Train to Echigo Yuzawa. It should take you about 90 minutes to get there. December in Echigo Yuzawa will be BEAUTIFUL, especially with the steaming hot springs and gorgeous mountains! If you have any questions, please contact me. I'm here to help!
Terrifyingly, Shibuya is not the center of Tokyo, but a sub-center!
That is correct. Thanks for the comment!
Japanese mindset is far more sophisticated and advanced compared to any other country in my opinion! I’ve loved anime since I was young. Just visiting there for 7 days and learning some of the Japanese language changed my life. I hope to continue to learn from them. I love Japan so much.
Thank you so much. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Did you notice that your video is very beautiful and the video quality is great. But your video SEO score is very low. That's why your videos aren't getting many views. I can help you if you want.
I don't know how I found your channel, but there you go. I have subscribed. I have been to Japan only once and I would love to return and if I had been younger I would have studied Japanese, but I was about over 60 for my first and only visit (I am now 72) and I dream of being reborn (my best dream) or getting over there much younger (my 2nd best dream) when I am reborn. I could watch your channel over and over. I actually cried (you know the feeling - "that's how it should be") when you touched on similar experiences as I relived them. I remember how often I had to swallow back hard my tears of gratitude to the Japanese people and the country itself when I was out there.
What a wonderful thing to say. Thank you so much.
