Mark of Finland - 2019 I Guess I Went Everywhere

Second part of 2019 montage. I said in a previous episode that I didn't do much. Which is nuts because I traveled across the North and South Island of New Zealand plus went to Australia. Also saw heaps of good bands live. Sorry about the low res pictures. I have no idea what happened, they are all high res photos but ended up pixellated after editing with Kinemaster. Tell me in the comments how...

Mark of Finland - BHL Ice Hockey league in Auckland
มุมมอง 1.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
There is a hockey community in Auckland that is alive and well. And it's run by some Kiwis and Canadians that truly love the sport. Not only do they have a fun season but it's like a simulator for pro sports. Think Be A Pro -mode in NHL videogame. You enter as a rookie and through training enter a draft and a franchise. Then fight your way to the top! Brilliant! The league is powered by Camorra...

    John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    Love how you're casually dropping "yeah, nah" all throughout this 😅 Awesome reo pronunciation BTW! I just want to give a couple of pointers 👍🏼 Te Reo Māori is not the "second language" it's the first, and it's now of equal standing with English (even tho plenty of bigots don't want to admit it). 2ndly Tauranga starts with the sound "Toe" (like "my big toe") not "taw/tow". Ka pai e hoa!!🙏🤗🙌👍🏼

    Useless information except 2 things: New Zealand rent or housing is super costly and you have to share accommodation including kitchen and toilet and dining area with other flatmates, 2nd: No proper insulation in many homes.

    1 Flatting, the cost of renting against the average income is high. Something you could have easily have gone online. Most people would have done some research before leaving their country. Good thing that you didn't travel to Hong Kong. 2. Regarding backing, that's a pretty reasonable request to ask someone who has just entered the country. Try the UK a lot more difficult. Again, absolutely no research done before coming here. 3. Left side traffic. Are you kidding me, you didn't look that up? 4, Many restaurants you do not have to go up to pay. Its usually the smaller café styled restaurants you're thinking of. Maybe you'll have to learn to loosen you purse strings. I'd happily pack your bags. Where did you travel to?

    If you think New Zealand is a dream land you are wrong. Yes it is a nice place but listen to this story. So I’m from England, I went to New Zealand for a few years and now live in America. My brother was getting bullied everyday. He would eat lunch in the bathroom, get picked on and beaten up. Once people put his head down the toilet. Then another time he was beaten up so badly we had to take him to the hospital. I was so worried about his mental health. He had a serious depression issues. We never really had the best sibling relationship, but it was way worse. My brother would come home some days and I would think he was going to kill himself. I remember my parents told the neighbours to check on him if he wasn’t answering his phone and we where out. New Zealand almost took away my brother. Than one day, I walked into his room seeing a note. My parents weren’t home and my brother was in the bathroom. I couldn’t break the door down and had to call emergency services. I almost lost my brother that day. New Zealand is a place I can never go back to, Luckily my brother is much happier now.

    And I forgot to say the risks of having nuclear power in an earthquake-prone country.oh and great Maori pronunciation.

  • @moirapennell1945
    @moirapennell1945 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    NZ houses are cold because many of us struggled politically for NZ to be nuclear-free. Most countries have cheap nuclear power and Finland has a lot but NZ does not. The French had been nuclear testing in the Pacific to the serious degradation of many environments. NZ passed its nuclear-free legislation at least partly in protest to French testing.. The French blew up the Rainbow Warrior - a Greenpeace ship in Auckland Harbour in retaliation. Nuclear propelled/armed ships were banned from NZ waters which the US was very annoyed about and the ANZUS agreement went bottom-up. It is all far more complex than this but you can look it up yourself. We took a lot of pressure from both France and the US in particular over it but many of us were very proud of that legislation even though we knew we would have to suffer for it. However this is essentially why NZ houses are so cold. Now 40 years later nuclear power has become sort of safer but other sorts of heating have become more effective so things are changing.
