Your video just helped me after the tool didn’t work thanks so much!
🤔i wonder if I could just get a thin sheetrock screw to bite enough in-between steel shaft and seal Ill let you know tomorrow and if it dont ill drill pilot holes like you did
Same for a 700R4?
You sir are the f#$@ing best!
Is this on the neutral safety on a 4L60E?
Easy enough out of the car!
Tool didnt work. This did. Thanks.
Hi, nice trick! But what about a using just metal screw with drill? One move, and we avoid the drilling process. May be it is easier just to use a metal hook to remove this deep installed seal? Doing this, we may avoid the shavings inside the transmission case
Great vid
What is the part number to that seal
Seal 8657163. 😁
I'll just put some sealant over it instead...
This method works really well. Don't buy the tool it doesn't work very well at all. Use a 90 degree drill if space is tight.
Would that be the same as the lever on the transfer case?
I just did this after buying the tool and it didn't fit.. Worked great. Was a bit tricky getting the drill in there, and I left two small drill marks on the back of where the seal pushes up against, but don't think it will cause a leak.
