I live in Crossville TN, but it missed us. It's hard to plan for extensive rainfall, as was witnessed with East TN and West NC. I guess they are saying the gorge will be closed for a year and I-26 North of Ashville will be closed for 6 months. You guys are likely going to drive many more miles to go East out of TN, and I'd imagine the mileage pay won't reflect that.

We don't have driver facing cameras but when I was at Schneider it was just obnoxious there. Couldn't even have a headset for talking on the phone

Cargo is a good company i thought it would be my last company..but after 5 yrs it became a nuisance with all the safety stuff no turn on red the camera consultations, micromanaging, the horrible backhaul planning deliver 7 or 8 in the am then plan a 1400 1500 pick up.. cargo equipment is phenomenal but the safey is headache and adds more stress to driving with them

Given that exact circumstance I would have parked it. Easier to find parking earlier in the evening, and the earlier start to the day. You'll be going through my really old stomping grounds. I use to cover I-10 between Lake Charles LA to Mobile AL, back when I lived in New Orleans. I can't say "I miss that place".

I am almost at my year of experience and i am working at Schneider right now. As soon as i get that year i am going to try to find a different company that isnt a starter company and where i can still be otr but be home a little more kinda like you do. Are you allowed to have a passenger? Like if I got my CDL could my gf ride with me sometime if she was just a passenger? Also realistically how long between having to pee? Or do truckers learn how to pee while driving? I am impressed with the stamina of truckers and I’m wondering how much a trip has to be paced and how often it’s smart to stop and stretch the legs and pee. Thanks in advance.

I'll be hitting a year driving out here pretty soon and I have definitely learned a lot and I still do everyday. I feel ya on the night shift, last two weeks start around 1am and finish before 3pm, but for the life of me I cannot sleep when the sun is up, 3500 miles each week and my tail is worn out counting the moments till my 70 runs out and starting my 34.

As someone who is contemplating getting his AZ license to start trucking in Canada, its always nice to see a down to earth perspective on the reality of trucking. Thank you for the vlog.

Colton, love your videos! I'm going to put my 2 cents in on the whole Kalamazoo thing. I've been on the planet awhile and I specifically recall a kids television show on PBS called "Zoom" with an "m" :) But that show only aired about 4 years, long before you were born. Maybe it aired in re-runs, but definitely not into the 90's or 2000's. Anyways, that's might thoughts on the matter. Happy trucking my friend!
