    Range rover in general s hand, of a certain era, and model. Are not sensible buys. They are renowned for being unreliable yet, people still buy them. If you want a comfortable 4×4 that's ultra reliable, buy a land cruiser or pathfinder. Not very prestigious I agree, but bloody 100% more reliable and cost effective than a range rover.

    Electric vehicle market HAS NOT crashed in last 12 months. EV sales at record levels for 2024 in UK and made up 25% of ALL car sales in UK. The EV market is VERY healthy. Now if we talk ICE sales!!!

    • @nuttsoncars2710
      @nuttsoncars2710 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really has, used prices have taken a huge tumble over the last couple of years due to customer demand decreasing, now the prices have dropped the used market it quite strong because they represent such good value.

    • @bluebearproductions8954
      @bluebearproductions8954 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nuttsoncars2710 The price drop of used EV's was for a few reasons. One is as a direct result of generally lower priced new cars entering an ever increasing market share, with some price drops driven by Tesla. I was with Richard Simons of RSEV's the day after Tesla did a £5k price drop on new 3 & Y models. This had an immediate impact of dropping used EV prices by almost the same (wiped a lot of value off his stock!). Second reason is that YoY, more EV's are being sold, therefore the 2nd hand market share has increased, resulting in more EV's in that space. A 3rd reason will be fleet vehicles. Some EV's will have been purchased by fleet buyers (company cars), which will now be coming off lease and entering the 2nd hand market. Used prices were artificially too high due to short supply and high demand. Supply has increased and demand is levelling out, but strong. The combination of all of the above has levelled out and to some degree, stabilised the used market & prices. Customer demand for new EV's remains at record levels. UK sales for 2024 at record levels, 338k YTD, V 286K for same period of 2023 and for November 2024 38k (25% of all new vehicle sales in the UK for the month) V 24k for 2023. EV sales remain strong, are increasing and there is no evidence of a slow down in demand for them.

    • @keithwillis5662
      @keithwillis5662 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The cost of second hand EVs has fallen, but a lot of that is to do with businesses who can afford to sell them at a knock down price because they can write off the cost against tax. I’d be interested to know how much a 7 Series or S Class of the same age would sell for today. New BEV sales are indeed surging, 25% of all new cars sold in November were electric. A 54% increase over November 2023.

    Would I want one, or an EV, definitely no, too much tech to go wrong especially as the cars get to 10 years old (water getting in causing short circuits, battery replacement (yes the can change individual cells, but what about all of the others that will be about to fail at the same age?), I prefer analog dials not tv screens which I though were illegal in the UK for a driver to see them, so I prefer 1990 cars at the latest which are better made, economical and should be more reliable if properly maintained

    late to this viewing, but it is still a valuable review at any time. however, much of this is unfair to the Cayman as it could be applied to virtually any vehicle in this category. finance and depreciation and fuel add up to over 80% of your "costs". if it was not financed, that would be irrelevant - and others may structure their financing quite differently. if you bought virtually any other car you would have seen similar (or worse) depreciation (Porsche retain value much better than average). and you would have put fuel into any other vehicle driven over the same period (outside of EV, hybrid, etc) anyway - this is again not a factor relevant to the cost of ownership if compared to most other vehicles in the category. in the end, you are unintentionally being harder on yourself and your decisions, and somewhat misrepresenting Cayman ownership costs. as well as being all easily estimated in advance of purchase (not discovered with dismay after the fact).
