Some funnies, general mechanic work, tire work, and various hands on projects getting covered in this channel. If it's old we like it, if it's a Ford we like it more.
1936 Ford Deluxe V8 First Run, Rebuilt Flathead
It has been more than four years since we have posted anything about the 1936 Ford. A lot has changed! My father in law has been working hard on the truck. He has rebuilt the entire brake system, I painted the rims and installed new tires for the truck, the engine and transmission were pulled. He rebuilt the transmission, disassembled the engine and took it to a machine shop. The machine shop had the engine for almost two years and didn't do much to it. He got tired of waiting and finished the machine work himself. Now the engine and transmission are back in the truck, and it is time to fire it off. It is a feeling like no other firing a rebuilt engine for the first time. Enjoy...

Ford 2.3 Lima Engine Build

1988 Ranger with a roughly 1979 2.3 OHC 4 cylinder. This project was started 16 years ago, put on the back burner from job changes, moving, having kids. Now the oldest boy wants to get it done. It was our weekend project for about 5 months. 16 years ago the engine had the machine work done, and I had gotten as far as installing the rotating assembly and cylinder head. We broke everything back d...

Bub Stevens Dish TV Upgrade

James and Max from Dish TV try and convince Bub to upgrade his coaxial cable TV service to better “gigsawn quality?” Bub has some technical issues with his cordless phone towards the end of the call, but that’s nothing a few batteries from eBay won’t fix.
UP 4014 Big Boy St. Louis 8-28-21

Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 spots it’s train at the St. Louis Amtrak station. Steam fogs my camera lens as it passes beneath us. You can hear the radio chatter from the crew. Seeing these engines on a regular basis in the 1940s would have been something. Around 6,000 horsepower and over 1 million pounds in weight when full of fuel and water. These locomotives help haul the materials that won WWI...

Coats 5060A Rim Clamp Upgrade
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Purchased a kit from Protek Equipment that allows for adjustable rim clamps on the A series Coats machines. Jaws will spread to 26.5” at the widest and down to 6” on the tightest setting. Allows for a larger variety of wheel assemblies to be used on this older machine. 1936 Ford Deluxe V8 First Drive

All systems go, first time drive of the 1936 truck. Clutch is a little tempermental but is working. Brakes working great, who needs hydraulic brakes anyway? Like being in a time machine!
New Family Addition, 1936 Ford Deluxe V8
มุมมอง 1264 ปีที่แล้ว
My father in-law has been eyeing vintage pieces of Ford iron for the past few years. All of which that do not utilize valve covers. He found this gem and retrieved it from America's prarie land. This video is of the second attempt to get the flathead V8 to breathe for the first time in a long time. The first attempt yielded no spark, after some tinkering with the points and minimal cussing, and...

Very nice, great to see a garage with a father and son turning wrenches. I like the music.! who is this.?
I love it.. retired larry...
Thank you Larry!
Just love the sound of that flat head. Brings back many memories….CHEERS
Thank you!
The foot over the pedal clutch forever ?
Good job, sounds great; my brother had one in 1964.😄
Thank you, fun to keep history alive
The video is great, you need to keep promoting your channel. Is not hard.
Like and subscribe, maybe I can retire early!
Engine very clean on outside, but have you blasted out the crankshaft oilways & pumped some diesel through them before assembling engine ? Similarly with oil pump ? Hopefully so ! Otherwise, you will get 10,000 miles of wear in about 10minutes as the dirty gritty old sludge gets forced through on start up ! Dont forget back axle & gearbox drain out old oil, & flush clean. Then dont forget to refill them both before going for a run. Grease kingpins, too.
You can put a check in all of the above
I’m so glad you kept it original not very many of those left. Thank you for doing so.
Thank you, he searched for a long time to find one.
Did you have the two stay rods bolted up? Seemed to bounce around a bit on take off. Nice truck!.
If you are talking about the upper support rods on the radiator, yes they were bolted up and tight. And thank you for the comment!
So nice you rebuilt the original flat head engine! Sounds great!
He sure did, and thank you!
Turning radius on my 55 F100 improves considerably when on gravel and or lawn. Keep up the good work!
It's nimble!
Great job, beautiful old truck, what is the petroleum jelly for?
Use it to help the radiator hoses on, they were a snug fit on the water pumps.
@@bubstevens Sounds like a good idea, didn't know, thank you.
That's how a working V-8 Flathead should sound!
Thats back when FORD made GREAT TRUCKS.
Yes, but if I had to choose I'd still buy a Ford today! I am a Ford fanatic. It sure is fun working on a pre war truck.
Dear friends, I congratulate you for preserving and taking care of that valuable 1936 Ford pick up gem. I ask you to please not renovate it and keep it original as it is. His 1936 Ford pickup is the most original of all the ones I have found on You Tube for years. Luck
Thank you, he had searched for a long time for that truck!
Diese Flathead Motoren haben einfach einen unglaublich weichen satten Sound.👆👆👆😍😍😍 Viele Grüsse aus Germany

Marvel mystery oil in fuel helps lubricant everything especially on fresh engine Run reds headers and smithy mufflers for dual exhaust u use this on all my flat motor fords and 52 jets in carb if too rich 50 jets ok awesome video thanks for posting 👍😊

Adjust the ideal
Owner replied to my earlier comment about crankshaft & oil pump not being cleaned out before running this engine which has been out of use for so long. He tells me that this was done. Not true-you have to dismantle engine to clean it out !! But they "spent the first weekend getting it running" You do a lot of damage starting up an engine that has stood unused for many years. Over time , dirt in the old oil settles on the bottom of the sump, which is where the pick-up for the oil pump is located. So when you start up after all those years, the pump picks up all this gritty dirt & carbon & shoots it through all the crankshaft bearings, ploughing grooves in the bearing metal & scoring the crankpins. Also damages oil pump internally. Not rocket science, is it ? Just common sense, surely ?

Thank you, it's fun to keep these old machines running, working on the pre-WWII stuff is a different animal.
Do they make them for older john bean 8950?
My grandmother had one of those and she used it on the farm when they didn’t have electricity for a few years. She used it outside and I remember her filling it up and washing the clothes every week.
Great job dad. Need more dads like you, hands on. I was his age when my dad died. Very fortunate young man. Plus you'll never get a cleaner wash. Dan
Thank you for the kind words, we had fun working on the washer.
You’re probably not but if you ever think of selling it, let me know.
My Great Aunts had these machines, like they had more modern 60s and 70s washing machines but, they also had these old 30s and 40s machines. Why? My great uncles were all farmers, wood workers, and also did machine work. Their work clothes could destroy a more modern washing machine, but with those old ones? As you display here, 110% repairable. Oh and as you showed, you can make butter with them, but did you know you can also make ice cream? The tub is aluminum, so you can fill it with crushed ice and rock salt without worry. I don't remember if they use the same butter churn, or if its a separate accessory unit... I just remember, that thing could make a few gallons of ice cream, and Great Uncle Jessie and Great Aunt Ruth when they had the family cookout, they had 3 or 4 of those things churning up fresh ice cream.
Very nice. Keep it up teaching your sons how to fix thing instead of buying something
Great job guys!!!
This 2.0L Pinto guy says, good job!
Great restoration and find for the motor and butter churn to go with it. What a great project for you and your son!
Thank you, it was an enjoyable project!
The world needs more men like you. My grandaddy and I would work on stuff like this all day long when I was this young man’s age. Nobody seems to have time for this kind of mentoring anymore. Excellent job too! Inspiring! I’m gonna work on my old Maytag today. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words. Time needs to be made for projects like these! Good for the mind when the eyes see what our hands have accomplished!
Way to go Dad for teaching your son the joy of tinkering/refurbishing. The Maytag turned out awesome!!
Thank you, it was a fun project.
Fantastic!
So cool! Nice job!
Thank you!
Triple WOW! Fantastic job on the restoration, guys! And a first-rate video documenting the project! You put my video making skills to shame!
Thank you for the kind words Brad, and thank you for answering questions along the way!

@@armandolagunas1350 Pretty simple, unbolt the old clamps from the linkage under the table, and bolt on the new ones. Then slide on the new adjustable clamps.
