Fun fact from a Roman Catholic whose patron saint is Saint Valentine… the holiday was originally derived from the feast day of Saint Valentine and the point is to emulate him and all the good he did in his life. He is not exclusively the patron saint of romantic love and marriage but all types and kinds of love in general. Some things he did that didn’t involve marriage was are: helping the disabled, helping prisoners, helping victims of war, and standing up for minorities and in general people who society forgets to love. His goal in life was to remind EVERYONE that they are ALL loved in all kinds of DIFFERENT ways. If you chose to celebrate Valentine’s by feeding the homeless, helping prisoners, or in general helping marginalized groups or just spending time with your friends and reminding them that you love them all than you are celebrating the holiday just as authentically as those celebrating with a significant other.

Not everyone. The millions of people who don't use it don't care at all. If you can't live without it, you have a problem.
