Very cool and fascinating... You could assign a different color to each finger of each hand to symbolize the notes played on the keyboard. Here is a proposed color distribution: Right Hand: 1. Thumb (index): Red 2. Index (major): Green 3. Major (ring): Blue 4. Ring (pinky): Yellow 5. Pinky (little finger): Violet Left Hand: 1. Thumb (index): Orange 2. Index (major): Pink 3. Major (ring): Brown 4. Ring (pinky): Turquoise 5. Pinky (little finger): Gray This color assignment allows for easy distinction between the fingers of each hand. The colors chosen for the right hand (RVBJV) form a familiar sequence, while those for the left hand (ORMTG) create a contrast while remaining easily identifiable colors. ## Representing Notes on the Keyboard You could then have the played notes scroll vertically, using the same color code for the fingers. Thus, when a finger presses a key, the corresponding note would appear in the color assigned to that finger, on a top-down representation of the keyboard. A synchronized scrolling (horizontal scrolling) of the sheet music being read and played would also be welcome (cf. MuseScore). This visualization of notes, fingers, and sheet music would help students better understand the link between the score, the keyboard, and the execution of the piece. The color code would aid in memorizing the association between each finger and the notes it plays. By combining this color-coded finger representation with a synchronized sheet music scrolling, and your educational video, you would offer an even more effective and engaging learning tool for understanding the geometry of hand movements on a piano keyboard.
