here is the first part of the melody, first without rhythm. We play towards the next "one". Sorry for the small disturbance at the end of the video, my cat complained that she would like to go out in the garden :-) first melody after the starting note on "one" with e - is then g h e f# g /d (which leads to "d" on "one" of the D-major chord) a g f# g a /g (the a f# a-melody in D major leads back...

try to play along the 7/8-rhythm with one bar E plus minor third G - and the next bar D with mojor third F# to get the feel of the tune and the rhythm before you start to rehaerse the melody. This will help you a lot to understand the tune and to keep the rhythm in flow...

Die klammern sind eh schlecht. Ich hab da bei meinem alten Gewächshaus seitlich Löcher durchgebohrt in 3 verschiedenen Höhen und Drähte durch-geschoben. Hält wesentlich besser bei Sturm und fällt kaum auf.

Hab sie am Samstag auf dem Bardentreffen gesehen und gehört. Leider nicht mehr so "ursprünglich" wie damals (z.B. 2011). Für mich zu sehr mainstream geworden. Aber ist sicher Geschmackssache. Ich habe noch eine der alten CDs und finde die echt gut.
Ich hatte die Band auch in Orginalbesetzung gehört, das war für meinen Geschmack viiieel besser, aber trotzdem eine gute Band, wenn auch nun etwas mehr "Mainstream"....
Das war ein super Konzert, absolut mitreissend, wenn man es live erlebt hat.

What Instruments do you play?
that's an old wooden flute which was formerly played by the flutist of the Frankfurt Philhamony Orchestra - I bought it as student around 1980, because I liked the warm sound of the wooden flute. The flute itself should be approx 90 to 100 years old, no name who manufactured it. mAnyway, I fell in love with it immediately - no silver flute or any else could get this emotional resonance with me. This is not an incredibly well-known song, so you have really made art through unique selecting and a unique arrangement. You really had an auteur-type vision in my opinion.
thank you so much for this wonderful feedback. I felt connected with this song since I heard it the very first time, I think in London 72. With Edda and Hamidou I had the feeling that we could do a soulful version and perform this song ourselves.
