6-7-09 Eau Claire OUTBACK OFFROAD ADVENTURE 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4X4
มุมมอง 99515 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my 1997 jeep wrangler tj at the outback offroad adventure in Eau Claire on Sunday, June 7 2009. This was taken on trail mod 1.
I plowed snow working for a local district for 35 years. Fought with Meyers the whole time. Won't lift or won't angle constant problems with quick connecters and solenoids. I noticed they now run Westerns on all six trucks. Only negative I see with your plow is those wire connecters. I think them coming off would get old real fast. One recommendation I would make to you is remove your tailgate during the winter months. Early on we did not and the release would get rusty inside the tailgate and get hard to use, or the tailgate would rust out. We made a H box from 2x8's to keep things in the bed during winter months. Two boards running along the wheel wells with cross pieces running in front and behind the wheel wells. All screwed together.
I had a dealer install the R29 series 2, on December 28th 2022, then upon its first use on January 3rd 2023 we found a problem with the hydraulic system and the plow creeps down on its own. The dealer said he will come in on January 6th 2023 to fix it but never showed up and now 6 months later the plow is still unfixed. The plow put a lot of chipped spots in the concrete, its so damaging beyond acceptable limit. Save yourself headaches and liability and purchase a different plow from a respectful dealer and manufacturer, or you might end up like me regretting the second that you bought a snoway R29 plow. And just an FYI, I tried to return this plow in the first week of purchase, the dealer refused to return and the manufacturer refused to return it too.
I’ve had snoway plows for years. Problem is that no one repairs them. Can’t even get a call back.
I'd rather have this than a new compact hoe any day.
I have a gravel driveway, how did you attach the two inch pipe to the cutting edge? I love that idea!
I love your Ferris stand on mower, I am going to go get mine at Hilliard lawn and garden. Keep up the good work man.
Beware: Good mowers but they have transmission issues.
My dads never had problems with his sulky in 25 years. Proslide is inferior.
How long is the battery life on the plow.?
is the down pressure make this plow worth buying, it is a 1,000.00 more than a myer
downpressure is an incredible feature. And there are some great end of season deals being offered on SW plows right now!
Those are the best plows.
If I was this guys boss he’d be fired just for sucking
I Purchased a snoway 26 series about p years ago. I have had no problems minus a relay going out. Bar non the best plow I have ever purchased, leaves parking lots so clean you can eat off of them. I purchased a truck and it came with a western and I am very disappointed with it, very sloppy and does not clean as well. The float mode totally sucks, you can not scrape any compacted snow off of the ground, and back dragging is very aggravating. I have sold my western and ordered a Snoway 29vhd, and I'm sure I will be even more pleased with it than my 26 series. The wireless pro control is awesome, and the down pressure is like no other. The plows are solid don't shave or wobble while transporting them, unlike the westerns. Snoway's plows are rugged and reliable.
Very helpful review! Thank you. Also if you wanted to, you could solder the wire connections so they won’t come loose.
Hey good video What did it cost if you don't mind my asking. Do you recommend it for a ram 1500?
I honestly can’t remember an exact number off the top of my head it’s been five years ago since I purchased this plow so I’m sure pricing has changed.
I would definitely recommend it though, we have been very happy with this setup and actually just bought another snoway plow

Hi not sure if it counts but in Canadian dollars your looking at 7kish for half ton only reason it's cheaper cause you can only really run a 6'8 blade recommended by Snow way and that's the 29HD not the fancy one with the adjustable wings like on the video.I got one for my 2500 diesel and it ran me $8700
Hi Jacob, I'm looking at going with a very similar setup. Can you reply with what lights from Amazon you put on there?
It’s been a number of years since I’ve bought those I tried to look them up but can no longer find them. If you do a quick search for led flood work lights on amazon you should be able to find something similar
Nice mowers! they look better than the Z3X !
@Alexis ayala you're right, they should've put the bigger hydro gear zt4400 on it!
Looking at switching to Ferris with the vanguard, have you had any issues with the motor vapor locking?
*_Seems to work fine and was what I expected it to be.==>_**_t.co/vMpfj2TGk1_**_ Arrived on time and in good condition. Like!_*
Awesome tractor!
this is Andrew and I'd would like to ask you a quick question is the ford backhoe still for sale. and how much money is it
Hello I'm thinking of purchasing a stander would you recommend the ferries
I love them. Been running them since 2010 in my lawn care business. Just became an authorized dealer. I have the best pricing available at LawnCrack.com. Thanks for the video Wes. Please take my comment down if you feel it is inappropriate. And if you were offened...my apologies.
The harness slipping off the coils has been corrected with different terminals on the harness. I've replaced the harness on mine and they no longer vibrate loose.
You babbled for almost 8min and never really showed anything.
you is one devil
How do you like the mower itself?
I'm guessing your 1 ton has a either 12k or 15k on the tabs and with that particular plow, the cops might tag you for it being too heavy. But probably not. Just saying. My 1 ton dually is tagged at 33k and i run the 8611PP. One heavy bitch. But I have front and back air suspension to take up the slack.
i take the plow off this truck in between storms and when I'm just salting i leave it off just to make the truck more road friendly. local cops seem to have better things to do than mess with plow trucks during a storm. sooooo many guys around me with 3/4 tons carrying 5k worth of salt spreader plus plow during storms. if the cops really cared they could have some fun. we upped the plates on this truck to be able to tow one of our 14k equipment trailers. its now registered at a PA weight class 8 which is 26,000lbs.....this is the low pro version of the 8611 so it isn't as heavy as yours. if memory serves me correct its only 40lbs heavier than the smaller 8100PP which is why i went ahead and got the bigger version.
Wow, Someone on TH-cam that actually knows what I am talking about. I'm in MN.
lol i only know because I've learned the hard way before.....
plows not. even down all the way.
What makes you say that? We don't run shoes on our plows straight to the pavement
@@wes92395 The wing of the plow doesn't even touch the ground. That is what he means.
Am I the only one that finds that the deck height adjustment doesn't make any sense? I set it at what it claimed to be 2.5'' and it cut much shorter than my other mower.
Did you or the dealer set the deck up correctly when it was new? Their not usually adjusted properly from the factory and some dealers may or may not bother leveling them.
I'm pretty sure the dealer didn't do anything to the mower even though they said they were going to "prep it" I haven't touched the deck and it does cut even, so that's the only thing I can think of is it just needs to be adjusted so it's in line with what it says on that deck gauge. I do wish they would have numbered the deck settings a little better. I kind of just play with the height a little until I find a height that looks good on the yard. I think the deck is about 3/4'' lower than what the numbers say.
Ok well it turns out I'm an idiot. I measured with a tape measure and it's accurate according to the scale. I went ahead and wrote in the height next to each hole so it was easy to read.
Funny because I was thinking the mower didn't cut good, just turns out I was mowing too high. lol
There's a NEW EINGINE THAT CAME OUT ITS CALLED VANGUARDS OIL GUARD SYSTEM you can use it for 500 hours between oil changes
there's nothing there to plow. wasted time putting the blade on for nothing
When the owner of the property says plow it and I get paid to do it, who would pass that up?
I like these alot. I like the standing platform between the wheels instead of behind them.
Any update videos coming up on this mower from you?
I want it
hows the efi? Just picked mine up yesterday but with Kawasaki. They didn't have the efi. I still have 0 hours on it, so Im sure I could exchange it. They said its $500 fuel savings over 600.
$500 fuel savings over 600 hours
Gas is $2.00 a gallon at most right now. How do they claim $500 savings? The efi only uses about 2 tenths of a gallon less than the carb model, so I grabbed the Kawasaki.
Are you going to post some videos of the mower in action? Looks like a great machine congratulations!
It looks like your deck lifts quite easy, mine is real heavy on the uplift. Any problems with the raw gas smell under thick grass cutting?
Been using it for about 2 weeks now with absolutely no problems . Definitely Much Better Built than the evolution.
Not made for hills. Going down hill it keeps wanting to retract pulling you under mower . Have walk on gravel roads and pavement. I finally switched to a the real velke brand.
true story......we switched to stand on mowers.......the ultimate sulky :)
I finally used mine. I love it. So smooth compared to my wright.
sweet
I've never had luck with the briggs . our new IS has a briggs and it's been nothing but trouble for us . Aluminum push rods that bend , main block gasket leaks bad , oil cap keeps popping off , cyclone air filtration is a joke , electric problems , carb gave us problems and last week it started knocking at only 460 hours . One of our Kawasaki engines has 900 Plus hours on it and runs great and we never had problems with it. Also have a Honda motor with God knows how many hours at least 1200 and it runs like new.
Do you find the key position awkward? I bought one of these also except ferris gave me 10% off.
I find the throttle to be in a bad spot but the blade engagement and key do not bother me
thanks for posting this. I have been eyeing this mower as well. Please do a few follow up videos of the likes, dislikes, problems, etc as you start getting them onto the job sites! Enjoy, and congrats
Will do, I'm gonna break the GoPro out over the next couple weeks of mowing and put together a decent video
+wes92395 I live in Minnesota I have both wright and now the new ferris side by side the ferris has a cleaner cut and disperses the clippings better
I have also been looking at these mowers if you could do more videos that would be great I have also heard the ferris mowers like to throw belts. I am also looking at the wright standers going to make a decision soon
Never heard anything about the belts but I've also never really paid attention to ferris stuff previous to these new mowers coming out....
+wes92395 well I found out the belt thing is a myth so I ordered two and pick them up tomorrow. I demoed it last fall and loved the quality of cut and comfort. It is the only other stand on (wright) that you stand between the tires and don't stand up so high. The wright doesn't cut nearly as nice and no wheelies going up hills like toro exmark and scag
Ya these are defiantly comfortable to run. And for us they were easy to get the hang of because the controls are so similar to the Toros we previously owned. They are very fast, cut quality so far seems pretty impressive, we have only ran them 3 days but so far I'm very happy with them. You will definitely like yours when you get them! My only complaint thus far is when you get off the operators platform it kicks the deck off. I was trying to mow a excessively steep hill going across it instead of up and down and I tried to walk behind it and couldn't. That's an easy fix though. These mowers will climb over anything you have the guts to try. Very stable mowers
+Jason Dow Hi JASON - Congrat's on the new mowers - We run stander x's but yes the cut quality is not great - but the open pulley and belts on the new ferris stander is just something that worries me - We mow commercial so there's always tons of trash and other things that can possibility get in there but not likely - please update more when you get some hr's on them - thx
+Larry A hi Larry I mow both commercial and residential and will running them next week. The residential lawns have lots of trees and lots of sticks. I will let you know how they do I hope the sticks don't cause me to kick belts
Hello - Thank you for your video - I've been looking at this mower for some time and the one thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger Is the Open Deck Design - Due to this design I've read a lot of guy's are slipping belts and having pulley issues on other Ferris models - Please update again when you have put some hr's on the machines - More info would be great - Thanks - Have a great spring
So far no deck issues. In any mowing condition for that matter. No slip, great cut quality. 40hrs on the one machine now
How about reverse with it?
You cannot directly back up... You can sit there and do 360 degree turns but you can't backup while on the sulky.
It was never a stock motor that mowed a lawn... It uses the MWSC S/A engine block. That block is based off of the Kohler 16hp K341 engine though.
It's in the 50hp range
