Protyping a Pry Bar on the CNC Router

Hello everyone and welcome to the channel! Here we are prototyping a pry bar on the HD CNC Router built by CNC Maryland. Using some 1/4" 6061 aluminum we machined a pry bar that will be further refined in the hope to produce these in titanium. Some detail info: CAD/CAM - Fusion 360 Spindle - 800 watt water cooled Movement - Nema 23's and 1605 ballscrews Controller - Centroid Acorn CNC Bit - 1/8...
Very interesting indeed! Time has changed programs and tooling. I made a set of grips for my Ruger .22 pistol. Getting the layout, design, and tool paths took about 8 hours ( I’m new and a perfectionist). The run time for the set (not counting tool change time) was just under 25 minutes.
Dope AF results, CNC Maryland!
Do you happen to make these for sale?? I would love to have a titanium knife like that.
That thing is a beauty!
looks good
Where did you get the file or did you do your own? If so do you sell it and is it available for an A2 model with a magwell?
What program do you use and what parameters did you use to make the grip?
Would share or sell the file?
Is the piece able to be picked up and removed at the end of the video or are there still tabs or something holding it in place? New to CNC and trying to understand about holding down the workpiece
There are still tabs holding the grip to the workpiece. If you watch the last machining pass you can see the bit go around the perimeter and go up for a short distance then down again; It is cutting through the material leaving a tab every time it goes up.
@@simonvadim99 ah I do see it now that you mention it, thanks!!
would you sell these dusters ?
😎🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥 can watch this all day.
Really nice work!
Hey buddy.. its Vhersa. Nice one, you have really improved on this product and the production process. How is the machine upgrades working so far?
Amazing for sure!
sell them to me bro
Nice job man!
plz can tell me the machine model you using? thank u so much
Custom built by @#cncmaryland
Pretty cool buddy. Neat. And your machines upgrades I are really paying off.
Excellent. I was considering making this but using grip stock and a fixture for holding onto the contours when it’s flipped. Could produce less scrap.
Thank you! The process has changed significantly since this video. My current method is to machine out the holes, and then the outside profile. Then it goes into a set of soft jaws and all chamfers are cut on both sides.
Do you have a technical drawing of these knuckles?
Yes, of course, complete cad drawing.
@@cncmaryland8411 could you send it to me?😊😂
@@Lukas-et5ju LOL, absolutely not. These are my designs.
Start selling. I would buy.

looks like you have a lot of wasted cnc cuts. you are cutting air in a lot of places. I bet if you fix your gcode you will save a lot of time cutting these in your cnc.
Thank you, I fully agree. I'm going to refine the gcode and see how fast I can go!
Pretty impressive man. Nice work.
