I'm not from there (I'm from Swansea) but Aberavon means a hell of a lot to me too mate. Went there with my parents many times in my childhood in the 1970s.

Love that song! My grandmother, Jane Davies, was born in Aberdare. He father and brothers were all coal miners. When they emigrated to the U.S they immediately went to NE Pennsylvania to mine coal.

In an interview with Dick Cavett, Richard Burton said that he had drank as much as 3 fifths of alcohol in a single day. "A three bottle a day man" he said. You think, that's bull, how could you drink ethanol like that? Practice. He died at 57 yrs old. He looked like he was 87.

Hi Martin… Neither was Michael Sheen, Paul Potts or me in fact? He was regarded as Port Talbots first son as he grew up for most of his early life in Port Talbot. I am originally from Swansea, but I have adopted Port Talbot into my heart. I am proud of the town, it’s people and it’s diversity with art and culture. So no not quite born in Port Talbot, but very much loved especially how he talked about his proud Port Talbot upbringing 👍

I like this.

I have fond memories of going there often with my parents when I was a child in the 1970s. The waves on one side of the breakwater were always much bigger than on the other side of it! I believe the "Miami Beach" fairground/amusement park was taken down in 1983. Apparently there's been some talk of reviving Aberavon. Will be interesting to see what comes of that.

Perhaps it may sound better from someone else as I've not got a fantastic voice.
