Yeah, Arc-V era SHS is garbage. And it's arguably still mid after the support due to a lack of good endboard pieces. I'm not talking about negates or even interruptions, the Synchros have 0 protection.
If I recall correctly, Seto's name was the only name not erased in the scene in which we saw names erased from record in GX. So, in my head atleast, this Duel is canon lol

Card advantage and deck thinning has always been good, and it only got better as the game progressed. Being able to draw 6 or 5 cards with no cost or setup is absurdly strong, even back then. So that’s why it was changed. If it’s any consolation, there’s a Slifer support card that allows both players to draw 6 cards with the only setup being having to special summon Slifer from the GY. And Card of Demise saw some niche play in Floowandereeze since the archetype is all about normal summoning anyways

Doesnt mirage of nightmare make him discard 4 cards during his standby phase? I know he activated a quickplay spell to remove it but technically its a chain and the card still resolves
Emergency Provisions activated and sent it to GY before it activates. The reason why Mirage of Nightmare didn't activate is because trigger effects that activate on a specific phase don't act the same way a normal card or effect act. Judai can decide when to activate it in that certain Phase. Even if it did activate, Continuous Spells resolve on the field. If they leave the field, they stop.

Darkness 1, Darkness 2, and Darkness 3 have the same requirement that need to be the first card activated after Zero and Infinity. The first card that was activated was Darkness 3.
