I thought this was about Maltese. All this stuff works on large breeds, but do not put a prong on your Maltese. It is dangerous and you WILL ruin your relationship. It's irresponsible to put this out as appropriate for a toy breed.

I have a Maltese. He s by far the BEST dog I have ever had and I’ve had 5 other breeds. He is 2.5 years now & I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is the most lovable, affectionate, interactive dog I’ve ever seen. He is almost like a little person, super smart. I will never get any other breed in the future, I’m 100% sold on Maltese breed from here on out.

You should never use a choke lead or correction collar on a Maltese! They are toy dogs and are very tender! If this is a repeat of a video you think would work into this breed, you are mistaken! OMG! If this was mentioned over a year ago, I apologize; I can't read back that far.

i do love this video! We just bought our Maltese a new toy. She grabbed it and ran under the bed, and for some reason isn't coming out. For some reason she's gotten very protective of the toy. When we try to reach for her, she is threatening to bite us. Weird and out of the blue behaviour. Anyone had a similar experience?

My Maltese is 5 months old . He just started barking only when he hears another dog barking. This is on tv as well outside.

My Maltese licks all the time, and she doesn't stop. If we move here away from us, she licks the air. And thats non stop, all day all night. We don't know what to do? Can you please help us? Thank you

I have had both breeds, my Cocker Spaniel died a year ago and now I have a Maltese of 3 years old. These are the traits that I loved from my Cocker Spaniel that the Maltese does not have: ✅ Playful ✅ Calmed temperament ✅ Smart and learned tasks easily and fast ✅ Relatively easy to train because they engage in the “game”. ✅Extremely loving towards everyone in the family. ✅Passive and relax around people and other dogs. ✅Obedient ✅Sentimental; you could tell his feelings just by looking at his eyes and face. ✅Loyal ✅Beautiful! I think Cocker Spaniels are simply stunning, their hair and curls are unique. They have this air of elegance. I have not found these traits in my Maltese. These are the traits that my Maltese has: ✅Loving to certain members in the family ✅Mischievous and revengeful with the ones he does not like. Shows strong preference towards certain family members. ✅Energetic ✅Athletic ✅ Independent ✅Aggressive towards other dogs and people he does not like. ✅Stubborn which makes him hard to train. Even potty training has been hard with him as he wants to pee wherever he wants. ✅Temperamental ✅Does not engage in any type of games ✅Does not like tickles or anything similar ✅Food sensitivity: they tend to have gastric hernias ✅Not sentimental; if you call him out, he gets upset at the moment but he moves on quickly. ✅Loves being outdoors and gets bored when he is inside the house. ✅Obedient (more often than not) I also have to add that I got my Maltese after being an adult and growing up being neglected; he used to be at the street most of the time. In my experience, Cocker Spaniels are much more easy going. I love my Maltese with all my heart even with all his defects but its been challenging to educate him. One thing in common is that both are jealous with their owners.

I appreciate this. I am working towards working from home full time and have a ton of vacation time as a teacher, but would like to get a Maltese before I make it to full time at home. I also plan to get the pet in the summer so that I can properly train and bond with him/her.

My Maltese seems to heel and not heel. She pulls more when she wants to find a poop spot or pee spot.

I agree and this works. My pup has learned to sleep for most of the time while I'm away at work. She has a separate area to use the restroom in case I'm too long at returning from work when not on my break.
