Turbine kart

Peroxide reaction engined kart, approx 1500 HP in a kart frame, my kind of insanity. No matter how many times I watch this it still makes me laugh and I bet the dude driving was crapping himself at the end, watch it and you'l get what I mean. :)

Someone always has to go one better :) Guy driving it has pretty good control though, thats not a small vehicle to be doing that around that track. Bet his freight gets a bit messed up.... :P

Not quite sure how much power it has but I did hear something about it having nearly 1800 Hp @ flywheel, if so thats kinda mad. :)

Building the power is easy and expensive, the trick is to get it all to hook and pull out the big end. I run high 4's in the 1/8th just under 160 and that still isnt the quick time in our class at the home track. Some folks just have cubic cash.
The big Garrets are 88mm GTX4718Rs with billet compressor wheels and ball bearings. The AR is 0.96 and the turbine is 108mm. The car leaves at 5,600 rpm, making 15-18 pounds and 35-36 pounds at the top.

Well I think so, been getting back into watching the drag racing recently and heard commentators stating 10,000 for some teams. Of course, it doesn't matter a damn if you can't get all that power down!

Is it now? I was just at a race about 10 months ago and they were still saying 8,000 here in the US but I'm not sure. That was with tony Shumacher and all them.
It's actually close to 10,000HP now for the top teams in the US. In Europe it's still around 8000.
