Building is the most enjoyable part about Lego, maybe next to sharing what you've built with people that also love lego. Searching through parts is a bit of a hassle, but it is actually not that bad if you have somewhat sorted out what you have. If you build often, you get better at finding parts quickly. Just keep your organising the same as much as you can, so you build a large mindmap of where every part can be found. Also, do not let other people, not even your loved ones change that storage, unless you agree with the placement 100%, you will have to re-learn ALL of the places that you formerly knew your lego parts to be, that will take time and can be frustrating.

I think the buildings should go as high as they can. As for the monorail, I don’t like the posts on the sidewalk, I would hate to live there. I was thinking it should run on the outside grass edge. Then you can do like pedestrian bridge over the street to get off the train.

I have that same organizer. I organize by the type of piece and hot glue one of the pieces to the front of the drawer to identify quickly.

Also one of your other videos about sorting Lego and simply using the ziploc baggies to help sort the size and quantity of my Lego has helped me tremendously!! Thank you for your idea. My Lego collection has seen more sorting improvements sense I learned that trick.

hey there!! You are totally right about the mini figures!! They do not match what so ever. I’ve been collecting Lego for over 30 years and the traditional Lego figures are the heart and sole to Lego collecting.
Yeah I have no idea why LEGO changes it up for Friends. I give the Mini Doll figures away.

Nice video. I'm working with craft drawer bins and steralite drawers to sort my collection. I'm quickly running out of space. My collection is more massive than I realized.
I find that the more I organize the more I appear to have.

Finally the wait is over! Great build, great video, great commentary! Great job. I expected each set to just click together but it seemed there was a lot of disassembling and moving things around. Great castle display for sure.
The sets are remarkably modular and while it looked like a lot of disassembly it really was just popping off the layers. The hard part was trying to figure out where the parts came and went for end result. I can only image what you could build had you purchased all the sets from the beginning of the series.
I enjoyed this video a lot and the way you brought all the pieces together was satisfying and creative; although I would like to note that the editing seemed a bit rushed and at times the audio was drowned out by the background music. It was hard to tell what you were commenting about. Over all though great video!
Yeah that was part of the issue I was having. There is definitely a huge discrepancy between editing and the exported MP4 sound levels. I'm looking into other software options as well as different cameras as well.

Hey homie. What's your sort layout. I bought those same bins a few weeks ago and have been sorting mine out. I was just doing color, and into size. so 1x1s, 2x2s and their assorted look alikes.
I have gone through multiple stages, but the end goal is almost 100% by element and by color, such as all the red 1x2's in one bin and all the blues in another and so on. In some case I mix colors, as I may only have one or two elements in a particular color or minifig accessories, most aren't sorted by color. It comes down to a the given volume the element will take to store. The Akro-Mills bins are the smallest bins I am currently using but I don't want to waste half a bin for a single 1x1 plate or tile. If that makes sense. All my bins have location addresses listed in the inventory so I don't have to remember where a particular part is located, I just need to look it up. If I were to start over I would 100% would start with Akro-Mills and add other options to store higher qty elements in the collection. Its a never ending process, exacerbated by continuing to buy other collections.

It was a fun build
That's a BRILLLIANT way to mix the new road plates, with a SNOT technique to make a thinner centre white line than the one you get with the actual road plates. I like the new road plates, but the lines are too thick, and I like MILS, but it's too expensive with all the parts you need. This is a GREAT combination idea.
Thanks, glad you like the combo. I agree using the 8x16 tiles is expensive, so I just amended the build to use the half road plate which are far cheaper. The combination gave me a wider lane and the narrow lines. Stay tuned for the new road plates for the updated city that includes bike lanes.
@@sherwoodforestbricks7802 I look forward to it. I saw someone recently who used the 8x16 road plates in Dark Azure, with the bike lane printed tiles on them, to make an 8-wide bike lane... another good use of the new road plate piece!

Curious how you chose your name?( Is it the name of your neighborhood?)?
As a youth I was fascinated with Star Wars and thus Skywalker Ranch so when I started in architecture I named my Ranch "Sherwood Forest". Influenced by the various tales of Robin Hood it became my sanctuary and stronghold built from nothing. Alas I never did build the ranch, but it became the name of my first store on Bricklink and modified after it was deleted and had to start over.
