Great gift from your daughter
Don’t get ya fob wet on your way out to the boat 😂
_"So far this year the weather has been awful.."_ says Roy on 2nd January 😃
Like your security camera set up what make are they? Found the same problem with GoPro. Only use it underwater for checking engine intake for blockage 😂

Happy new year to you and your loved ones
So happy with you have the all clear, that is wonderful news xx
Love your channel Roy 🎉
Blessed to still have you with us. ❤ wishing you & your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and healthy 2025. Best wishes from Yvonne and John. God bless you
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar I thank you. Hope you have a great festive season and a great sailing season in 2025. We can only hope. 🤞
@ ❤️
Fantastic to see you back to your old self and considering the poor weather what a busy year you have had. Fingers crossed for some better weather next year and more exciting adventures ⛵️
Good morning Roy👍 thanks for your feedback on products. Christian our youngest bought us a waterproof bag /backpack last Christmas ❤️ Brilliant & have phone pouch too. It’s a great bit of kit for going ashore in the dinghy
Sounds like us coming out of Usshant in 2011. 3 kids in v cabin flying between mattress and roof😂
Isn’t it great to have friends you can sail with when your boat is in the yard. We enjoyed a delivery sail in September helping our friend move from Dublin to New Ross for winter storage and jobs. Know where we are storing Wave Dancer next winter
👍
WRONG.Dont spray sealant inside of valve
? Not sure it says anything about spraying sealant inside any valves ?
@@sailingsheriff3349 7.15 minutes.Spray sealant inside, screw on through hull and sealant will be pushed inside valve
@@Doberman296 thank you. I can see the confusion here and what it may look like. It is not the valve mechanism but the protective weight bearing collar that was sealed as recommended. I agree do not use on the inside of the valve as you will have problems. It’s worked extremely well in the last 3 years so easy to turn on and off no maintenance. Thanks for watching
@@sailingsheriff3349 Collar was before 7.15.After collar you spray on valve connection screw too.Maybe not so much to cause problems but everything can happen. To hermetize screw need use sealant on pipe screw, outside one.
Well done !! Much perseverance and patience x
You are not kidding and a lot of money.
I never realised you had indoor steering wheel.cool feature
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar especially when the weather is foul outside
Just found your channel, enjoying your videos which I am watching from the start, Thanks for sharing, Simon, Conwy N Wales x
what date did you sail?

Good having friends who need help with delivery of their yachts to allow us sneak in extra sailing even though we have the boat on the hard
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar got it in one .🤠🤠🤠
Congratulations John, Bedlam is a lovely vessel of adventure
A keel hauling offence not having tea. 😂 At least he could offer an alternative warm drink
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar Absolutely, trouble is it’s only a small boat and the bilge keels would get in the way so not a fitting punisher in this case. I think he got though
@@sailingsheriff3349 🤣
Lovely way to spend time exploring on the water. John and I helped a friend bring his westerly falcon “Leda” from Dun Laoighaire to New Ross Co. Wexford ( cheaper storage) just the weekend gone. 120 miles nonstop. End of season sail was not on Wave Dancer this year ( July ). Get to see her in 2 weeks ❤
Look forward to watching that. This year has been a major disappointment all round.
Just found this at 00:57 . I will watch again in the proper morning. Can’t believe I’m still awake after a 21 hour yacht delivery with a friend (120 miles approx. ) bus train bus car to get home
Lift your boom up with the topping lift, So the end of the boom is in line with the clue on the sail. Lubricate the ball bearings in the mast with a dry lubricant every time you go sailing. You are right as it’s set up right now you’re pulling it down not out and that’s why it’s easier to pull out by hand. We had issues with ours when we first brought our boat. You have to use your topping lift with in mast furling at least on our boat we do.
@@SVFresh2Salty that really helped with the problem thank you.
Our last sail was in July. Jobs continue on Wave Dancer, 5 thruhulls and new shore power plug completed
Always nice to see dolphies although it looked a bit bouncy early on so I am not surprised you popped in to Llandudno. Last time I anchored there it was smelly mud...
I have had similar issues. The rod inside the mast on whivh the sail furls can be tensioned. The instruction manual explains how to do this and the slackness on yours may be part of the problem.
Hi thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately mine is the inmast furling plus early model which cannot be tensioned. If you watch my latest video I think it can now be sorted reasonably easily.
Great job getting sorted
Thank not quite sorted but a lot better. Still looking forward to your last trip. Hope matters are improving for you.
@@sailingsheriff3349 yes thanks finally getting editing time hence last 2 videos bringing us ever closer to the we say goodbye to Ireland videos
Fantastic video Roy, i miss sailing.
@@kentishman5179 I thank you
Ernesto’ tail has a lot to answer for. Fairly blowing here in County Meath yesterday, not a puff this morning just as well as my son and girlfriend are flying to Italy this morning
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar sounds like you should be joining them there is more to comeb
Forgive my ignorance about in mast systems but I thought there was supposed to be a safety override so it can’t jam & get you in trouble. Have you got any instructions/ installation manual? I agree angle looks wrong putting tension in wrong area
Mine is a very old system which has no override on. Fortunately it furls in reasonably well. It is only coming out there is a problem both Kemp and other people say the angle is ok but I like you think it’s wrong. Basically my system is a furling pole similar to the one on your foresail that goes up inside a tube with no bearing or support at the top with a long narrow drum at the bottom to furl it in. The annoying thing is that Selden will not comment. Like your sneaky sail good to get out after work.
@@sailingsheriff3349 thanks Roy, I’m SO far behind on editing as life & tech issues have other problems for me to solve first.
@@WavedancerWesterlyfulmar I noticed May? Looking forward to seeing your trip down South this year.
@@sailingsheriff3349 sorry so far behind, busy looking after my parents and getting the house I grew up in ready for auction, my parents moved to a purpose built house for elderly ( they are 92) across the road from me.
Selden finally got in touch and have sent some important suggestions on how to rectify faults. Plus two riggers have given me solutions to my problem explained in my recent video. Thank you for watching
Are you able to try removing the sail from the boom traveller to give a better angle on the outhaul to prove a point. Also have you tried releasing sheet and kicker to allow the boom to lift up to the sail and give a better angle to pull the sail out.
I have now managed to get the boom the same height of the clew and this has made a difference if you watch my latest Video I try to explain the changes I need to make to make it work. Thank you for watching
@sailingsheriff3349 glad you got sorted. (EX Atlas'T).
There is a better way, use anchor rode markers, cost about $5 per set, and stitch them to your chain with waxed sailing twine. Lasted a couple of years, was easy to see and didn't foul the windlass.
Dear Roy discovered your channel I put in Rotostay and there you were … I really like your channel very much and I will enjoy looking at other episodes cheers. I do hope you Cancer is in remission. I was diagnosed myself three months ago.
Thank you for your kinds words and I’m sorry you are just starting your journey. Hopefully they sort you out as quick as they did me. What is your diagnosis?
Congratulations Jo hope you enjoyed your time out with Roy

Catching up on episodes now we're home from France and Isles of Scilly, great seeing you again
We're home from France, Wave Dancer still in Arzal getting work done on her, overdue facelift❤. Had amazing time we are shattered,
😂😂 Roy you just gotta keep on keeping on mate all the best
Well done.Stay safe.Hope your flask is full.🎉.
Oops I watched part 2 before 1. Never known Noel to be so well behaved Unless it was your editing 😂
Thanks for another great video. Can’t believe how calm you had it and the sunrise was stunning 😍
Thanks for the nice mention. It’s great to hear our small contribution helped spare you on. It’s brilliant to see you back on the water and enjoying your sailing. Enjoyed your trilogy and well done to you all. Hopefully see you all down in Anglesey this coming week.👍
Any time! And looking forward to next week.
Interesting concept for saving your dock lines. Must check Penryn out for a choice of dock in future. We’re restricted by 1.8m keel so probably not an option as it looks pretty dry. We anchored at Tryn Du & the pool at Beaumaris
Yes it dries out. There is only Deganwy, Conwy, and Liverpool that have water for big keels.
Well done John. We did our first Swellies transit last year
The Welsh landscape is breathtaking. I wish we had time to visit BeddGelert when we were in Caernarfon last year. The legend of Gelert was a favourite of mine as a child and our Welsh pony was called Gelert.
This truly breathtaking, with NW Scotland pipping it at the post.
@@sailingsheriff3349 I would love to visit Scotland . John determined to go no further north than IoM😢 hoping weather better during his holidays

Thanks so much for the honourable mention of being on your watch list.❤ Hopefully have a new one tonight/ tomorrow. John keeps suggesting edits when I think I have it right for release which delays me further 😂😂
One day I will sit down and edit mine properly. Haven’t really got the patience though. 🤠🤠
