My fondness for hymns stems mostly from the fact that they were written from the first-hand accounts of early modern Christians who were preserved by God's miracle intervention from drowning in their sins and sorrows. I wish I had a more steadfast faith, like Horatio and the other early modern Christians who wrote the hymns that my church and I truly enjoyed singing. Early modern Christians had a faith that was unmatched and unparalleled. I wish I had that-that no matter how difficult the hardships, they continue to be flawless and devoted.
