This truck is by far the cleanest truck that’s relatively untouched (except re-spray) I have seen. The cab corners, drip rails, A pillars, hood, bedsides, rear pinch panel, floor pans and rockers are phenomenally clean compared to just about any other truck. The shape of the original bed wood says it all…
Purchased off Craigslist to restore, dragged it out of a barn and detailed it. Nothing else was done other then replacing some old parts to make it a driver for its new owner. New parts as follows;
Tires
Air FIlter
Oil
Oil Filter
Carb Rebuilt
Fuel Tank
Fuel Line
Fuel Pickup & Sender
Master Cylinder
Wheel Cylinders
Brake Hardware
Spark Plugs
I am technically the third owner but I have not signed the title yet, so you’ll be the third owner in 55 years.
61,250 original miles I can tell it hasn’t rolled over because the pedal covers are not worn out and the original floor vinyl and insulation is immaculate.
I have all the original parts I replaced incase you wanted to restore those, I do not have the original wheels and it has been re-sprayed obviously. Even comes with the original spare that’s unused. The cardboard that “insulated” the fuel tank behind the seat is even original and included… If that has survived, that in itself is testament of how well this truck was cared for. Appears to have been stored under cover at minimum for most of its life.
This is a GREAT candidate for factory restoration as a highly optioned truck, really the only thing that is missing is A/C. You’ll save thousands in body work or body panels to replace what’s usually completely rotten. I have included lots of photos of the typical rust spots so you can see how good of shape it is in. Other trucks out there that do not show you close ups or behind the panels in these area is hiding something…. RUST! The areas where you normally see Bondo slapped on, you can still see the original spot welds which show no plastic in those areas. The re-spray was poor, lots of runs in areas that look like bondo but are not, like up under the drip rail areas. Even the leading edge of the hood, where the pinch welds are is clean with none of the normal issues and no rusting out of the bottom part of the hood.
The drivetrain is in surprisingly good shape, good compressions on all cylinders (on cold engine) for 1-8 in order: 158, 154, 162, 156, 161, 160, 154, 150 in PSI. The clutch feels smooth, shift linkage being 3 on the tree feel excellent. Brakes will need to re-bed into the drums but feel great for the age. The power steering system doesn’t seem to work at full power, someone may have de-tuned the pump output. The previous owner was obsessive about maintenance as you can see a few lifetimes worth of grease around each grease fitting so it seems the truck was really well taken care of.
Will ship/deliver at buyers expense. Contact for options, I have a truck and trailer and would deliver nationwide. OR Buyer arranges pickup. Payment due BEFORE pickup/delivery. Checks and money order need to clear. Sold As-Is with no warranty or guarantees. Pictures and video reflect actual condition of vehicle.

    I know it's been a year since this came out but if you get this I'm looking to build an 81 k20 frame from scratch and have no idea how to go about it besides putting my old frame on a jig table and hoping it's square enough to copy all the angles, bends and whatever. Great with fabrication but new to building chassis. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

      Would highly suggest checking out Matt’s off-road recovery channel. They’re building a wrecker, I’d build the chassis the same way just not to that scale. I Would not build a 4x4 with a c10 frame

    Man after watching your video of how a pro builds a custom frame I'm kinda thinking my projects gonna be over my head! So a little back story since I probably got ya thinkin what is he talking about..... I have a Tesla Model 3 that's completely destroyed but has good drivetrain, subframes and a Ford Ranger I want to convert the Electric. I would need to build a custom frame to mount the subframes and battery pack in the Ranger. I have many considerations to think about including making the frame as light yet as strong as possible to get good range. Also having the ability to mount the Cab, Bed and bumpers seamlessly as to look stock from outside the truck. I have given a over a year of thought and planning to seeing how this might all fit together. The wheel base is about the only big difference in the two vehicles as the track is within a half inch. I just really think building something like this is like nothing anyone else has ever done. As far as keeping both systems stock and not needing much advanced system integrations. More less Truck by Ford and Powered by Tesla! Let me know if you think It would be possible and maybe if your interested I would love some advice/help. Thanks, Casey

    Wow Jake I had no idea you were so talented! Who got you into fabricating? My brother is an awesome welder and a motorhead who has been putting V8's in Chevy II's since the '70s. He's working on putting a 351 Cleveland into a 280 Z right now. We call him MickGyver. Great stuff here Jake. I've learned alot about archery from your other page. I never had an ILF bow till I found you on youtube but I've been an archer since the '60s. I'll keep watching...you keep teaching. IAMRETIRED

    Is it stronger if you bevel the edge before welding in the cross member. Not a welder just curious. Thanks great video.

    • @bonnivilleblackcherry9745
      @bonnivilleblackcherry9745 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its good to make a quick pass over the edges but not really a bevel. The metal isn't thick enough that bevel matters. 1/8 steel is easy to get penetration. Like a hooker on a weekend.

      Yeah man, it came in handy for sure. Also 3d printed a template for the angles that were needed to be cut for the main frame build. Everything fit together like a glove and was +/- ~1-2mm at any given measurement.
