Great video as always. Could you please let me know which first light can I get for outdoor/indoor interview setups and other needs? I have a budget constraint and just trying to get my first light? Which one would you recommend? I can stretch my budget upto 250-300 USD

My man, getting those interviews. Gotta love it. I am taking notes! I just put a client short promo video up on my business channel. A fun bar event video. One thing is it seems every time I do run and gun on my A7SIII that IBIS is a pain and I get jarred video. I don’t get that on my FS5MII’s at all. I have tried manually setting the lens length and that still doesn’t seem to work. It is annoying.

Great video and tips. One technique I use is something I learned from my days as a reporter. My late mentor, a veteran journalist, despite having his questions organized, would start the interview by asking his subject something off-script. He would begin by telling them, "Tell me something that none of your friends know about you." While that usually surprises the talent, they're willing to discuss those things. That approach has always helped me get details and stories that my talent, who's been interviewed mutilple times, never discussed with another reporter. It makes my interviews stand out.

Man, I love doing interviews, especially if they are a topic I enjoy and feel passionate about. I think an interview-style video is excellent for helping clients connect better with their customers and target audience. People want more real-life experiences!

Guilty of this! But quickly realized that it was messing up my shot and the way the interview was going. Especially with composition. Great tips bro !

I agree, man. I bought a lot of things that I just did not need or only needed for one client who was not paying enough to justify the purchase. I have had to scale back a bit to make it work right. I have a long way to go, and it is fantastic to see your journey. It inspires me to jump into the TH-cam space one day. I want to do field work or journalist-type stories, but that also comes with its own challenges. One cannot do everything, nor should one.

SUPER informational video! This right here is probably one of the MOST important videos on TH-cam in the creative community! Not many people actually talk about the BUSINESS side of things (the side that REALLY matters!) I also agree with your Honey-book recommendation! my favorite feature is responding in-line with e-mails right in the program itself. It also tells you when someone has signed a contract, sent payment or responded to an email. I'm not checking a bunch of DIFFERENT e-mails for the same client. I highly recommend Pixieset for photographers! It's a VERY professional interface with A LOT of great options! Great video once again! 💪🏾💪🏾
