Back to Malaysia (EP 3) *dating with parents 返回马来西亚(第三集)*跟父母的约会
Back to Malaysia (series) This series chronicles my entire dating journey with my parents during our time in Malaysia. It's the first time I've asked my parents for permission to create such a series, and I'm excited to document every genuine moment with my family. This video also helps me feel connected to them while living abroad, as I can rewatch these moments whenever I want. Each episode will begin and end with a teaser, giving you a preview of what's to come. In Episode 3, I'll start with a date involving both of my parents (morning markets, breakfast, etc.), followed by time with my dad (shopping, breakfast) and then my mum (shopping, eating, haircut).
I hope you enjoy it! :D

      @@Meiinnz Thank you so much for responding back. I am planning to visit north island (Auckland and probably Ōmokoroa/ Tepuke that area ) during Dec/ Jan. I will be taking a 2 month break from my current work in home country for this trip after that I will have to fly back home to attend some impt events in March. My plan is I will be taking this 2 months as a trial and error to see if I enjoyed and adapted to nz before quitting my work and go back to nz to continue the remaining of the whv during the winter season. I am lucky enough to have a supportive manager who support my little bucket dream. Initially, I wanted to quit my 6 years of work just for whv however my managers suggested on this trial and error break which I think it is also a good idea. Thus, I went onboard this suggestion . As I don’t own a driving license , I was hoping to find like minded people to share petrol for carpool rides. For work wise, I am only looking out for fruit & veg / animal farms to work/ volunteer, something diff from office job😄

    • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@untitled3912 sounds amazing! I am so happy that you have such an understanding manager. Auckland will be lots of opportunity, you can try to look for jobs in the link I have provided and also can check through working holiday Facebook page. Just be aware that it is quite hard to get a job during winter. Also, most of the employer has deny to hire whv who has less than 6 months or 3 months of working period (which is quite risky for you to look for a job when you return to NZ) as now a lot of whv worker came to NZ. If you will be stay in Auckland I don't think transportation should be an issue as there is the main city of NZ :D However, tepuke and Ōmokoroa are belong to Bay of Plenty as an urban area and is quite a distance from Auckland city. you can refer to this link for bus in Tepuke and Ōmokoroa (Bay of Plenty). Please note that some bus route has time schedule (which you have to check whether your working hour lie within the schedule or not). www.westernbay.govt.nz/transportation-roads-and-water/bus-services Also, rural area will be quite challenge to look for a stay as (demand > supply) as compared to city area (supply>demand). same goes to job opportunity as I check that Bay of Plenty only has avocado and mostly kiwi (only available for some months) I am not sure how many kiwi industry located at that area and how big it is, hence, suggest that you can do some survey about it :D if you don't have driving licence and need to depend on bus transportation is even challenging in rural area as less job opportunity, hard to look for a stay (sometime will be very far from your job location), schedule issue (bus route x available for your start and end time) and so forth. I will recommend you can first touch down in Auckland and be familiar with the environment first and only plan whether should you travel to Ōmokoroa/ Tepuke. here is some other bus information: if you plan to travel around www.intercity.co.nz In Auckland need AT HOP card to use public transport at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/at-hop-card/what-is-an-at-hop-card-how-it-works if you are landing in Auckland airport at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/bus-services/airport-services Hope it helps!

I would like to ask some questions if I have the chance to go~! 1. how and where to look for accommodation? 2. do i arrive and create a bank account there then only transfer funds from the malaysia one to it? • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Helloooo! You can try to look for accommodation through trade me, Facebook marketplace or community group (facebook page). Most common method is post in community group and you will receive reply from there :) if you are planning to stay in Christchurch you can try to search ‘Christchurch room for rent’ and will pop out quite a few options for you to choose. Also, try to search ‘working holiday 2023’ or 2024. Then, you can start to write about yourself and how long are you planning to stay and your budget etc as a post in the group. For the bank account, you can choose to apply through oversea or when you arrived in NZ. You can first create a bank account and transfer the money to the NZ account from Malaysia (note that you can’t take money out once you transferred in but you can view it) and activate the account once you arrived here (now you can transfer any fund in the account). For more detail you can refer here www.bnz.co.nz/personal-banking/international/moving-to-new-zealand Once you arrived here, you will need a IRD account for tax purposes. For more detail you can refer here www.ird.govt.nz/managing-my-tax/ird-numbers/ird-numbers-for-individuals/new-arrival-to-new-zealand---ird-number-application During my time, we are only allow to create bank account when we arrived in NZ so I am not so sure what is the progress for applying from oversea. Some how you can follow the link I have shared with you and should be fine. Hope that you able to get the WHV as it’s really a great opportunity for self growth (independent, discipline etc). Just like singapore has better exchange rate & near to Malaysia which will be more easier for me to visit my family. But, it’s also quite stressful to work in Singapore (never experiences before, mainly hearing from it) haha will see how it goes , for now I should have focus on getting my CPIM cert & secure a job that I want in here 🙈 still long way to gooooo but will share my journey in my TH-cam channel! :D

      @@Meiinnz I'm from Singapore and I can vouch for the high stress and fast paced work environment we are in. Everything needs to be quick. Pay is so-so. OT culture can be quite toxic here. From the outside, Singapore seems like Utopia, but there's a lot of work life balance issues here. Ministers aren't doing anything to address the issue that the younger generations are pointing out.

      @@klby30 I can feel you. I think that's what happening in lots of Asia country. That's why lots of young generation tend to run out of their own country to another country for work life balance. As compared to Malaysia’s currency, Malaysian will tend to work in Singapore for higher pay rate (although knowing the stress level). Where some people will rather go for some country that's more emphasize on work life balance meanwhile have the higher pay rate, but the cons will be staying apart with family & infrastructure and technology of the country itself may not be so advance. I am not a very political person but there must be a reason why work-life balance is not exist in most of the Asia country. Perhaps because of culture? Haha I'm not sure as well. Speaking as a Malaysian, at least Singapore has a higher pay rate than Malaysia xD if this can make you feel better haha 🙈 we always say that it's okay to work harder first and enjoy later on. After years, Singapore now has ranked on top in various area but Malaysia.. still working on it. So, work hard x mean 100% successful instead need to work smart. Every country has its own story and concern. speaking out our thoughts is a crucial steps but accepting and reacting are a dependency factor. Just like we speak to our leader and we cannot expect the leader react about it. Most important is you are happy with your life as the only things we can change is things that we are able to control :D if dependency factors happens to react in your way, treat it as a bonus but not the main source of happiness ;)

    Can you help me to asking this question? This is from New Zealand immigration website Does it mean that during these period if we work 2 months and go out 2 months to other country 2 months, mean still left 4months to work? No left 2 months to work in New Zealand? What happens if I leave New Zealand for a while and then come back? The Working Holiday Visa is a multiple-entry visa. That means your Working Holiday Visa is activated when you first arrive, but you’re free to leave New Zealand and return as many times as you like. Any time you spend outside of New Zealand will not be added to the total time your Working Holiday Visa is valid for.

    • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You able to entry nz as long as your visa is still active. But normally ppl will just stay until visa is almost expire & fly back/get new visa. Basically if your visa has < 3 months then mostly chance of getting a job is very low. Especially the period now where a lot of WHV coming in, the chance in getting a job is even tough and employer will prefer those can stay for longer period of time. If there’s something you need to do, I will recommend you settle the stuff before coming in nz.

    • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have never experienced this before and never heard of it. But I have checked online and saw what you have posted here. Guess they might have term and condition about maximum days you can leave. And it might risk you to pay to renew the visa. However, I still do not recommend as it’s quite risky. If you already in nz you can try call immigration and ask about it. (Will need to wait up to an hour). One more thing is ppl tend to just work 6months (Malaysia whv) with an employer as they wish to get the work visa (But now I guess is abit difficult due to the required medium wages). But if you plan to come and go, it will be very hard to look for a job as we only have just 6months. Other countries, they have 1-2years.

      @@Meiinnz Hi Xuan! thanks for replying my msg😍 1) Actually a lot of ppl struggling to get a job during winter time especially a lot of us wanted to work in the ski hotel ...any tips for this or how to get chance? One of my friends get this chance through someone they know that is working in the ski hotel recommend them to the manager... But not all of us have this lucky chance🤣 2) How was some of your friends after finishing working holiday and went back to Malaysia? Did they can find a job properly? As a lot of companies tend to think going for a working holiday is someone who can fully focus to thier job but thinking of travel everyday hahaha For now I don't have questions in mind yet but was planning to go WHV next yet... Wish that I can get the chances.... I've applied for 2 times but never got the chances of really got into the payment zone😢 Studying in oversea was one of my dreams but same to what you mentioned, WHV money won't get you fully the school fee and there's a lot more to pay in the future road...

      Haha that’s the budget as we are both student and we don’t have much income. We have no choice 😂 but it’s possible , we are not starving as long as not picky about food. Self cook is always cheaper than eating out. I will share my recipes through my Instagram account as well 🫣🫣🫣

      Of course we do eating out. But only when needed like celebration etc. Mainly is because of price, secondly is we not use to the food out there. So we rather cook ourself. Haha budgeting is important as fixed cost is too high for us :( I would say it’s impossible in my country (Malaysia) but it’s definitely possible in NZ. We have been doing this for quite awhile ^_^

    I'm planning to go there late July, with Working holiday visa. Never been abroad before so pretty scary knowing I be staying there for more than 5 month. Not only that, I be going there during winter season so hopefully every goes smooth, used to malaysian weather so might be a struggle before adjusting to their weather. =')

      That’s good to hear that! It might sound scary at first specially flying alone (like me). But it’s so enjoyable once we have stepped out our comfort zone to challenge ourselves! :DD which part of NZ are you planning to settle down ? Some part of NZ is cold and some is freezing 🥶 winter is the season where the bill goes up as it’s too cold to stay indoors which everyone will turn on the heater haha else you can be like me wear triple layer 😂 it’s important to get yourself the thermal clothing (2 sets) as this can’t get into dryer but it’s so hard to dry our clothes during winter. Normally I will wash it once a week, hope it helps! =D

But winter will be definitely 🥶 and the sun goes down around 5pm and it will be super duper cold in the early morning and sun goes down. Keep yourself warm enough ya ~ Oh ya. For the thermal clothing you can try to look universal traveller (I think they have a branch in mitsui which everything in there will be SUPER CHEAP!) else you can look for others too ;)

    Hi. Wanna ask where to find jobs and isit easy to find? Do we find online or just go to shops and find? Can we apply online? Will they help find us accommodation too?

    • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz ปีที่แล้ว

      it depend on what type of jobs you are looking for and which season do you plan to come. it is very hard to get a job in winter (just like now lots of people are unemployed). For the accommodation some employer will provide but some won't , which normally people will book through or join in group such as WHV in fb group :)

    • @Meiinnz
      @Meiinnz ปีที่แล้ว

      it will be better if you are here while applying for a job as they wish to have an interview and now as the border is already open where lots of foreign able to fly in and look for a job, hence, the job opportunity will be lower compare to before (during covid). Otherwise, if you are in a green list occupation, you may give it a go! :D

    • @Meiinnz

      Regarding where to look for a job, you can seek the link I have provided above (for seasonal work). Most employers prefer to apply through their own website. I will suggest you can land in city area first, either christchurch or auckland :)
