    I grew up using the wood version of a Panga. We called them Skip Jacks. Later years I discovered the Panga. Best damn boat design ever!! I have taken on serious storms and here I is. LOVE THOSE BOATS!! They plane and run beautiful! Its also takes less HP to run them boats. They are just an awesome design. Had a 70 HP it would scare ya . I went back to 25 HP. This was on an 18-footer wood.

    • @rusty_adv
      @rusty_adv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, but I believe 1 is none and 2 is 1 offshore. 1 pump Is for the deck, the other 2 are for the bilge running on separate batteries.

      @@rusty_adv i'm like you… I run two bilge pumps, and I only go out on small lakes and rivers lol. If I was going 50 miles offshore I would definitely have 3. Dirt cheap and when you need one because you got swamped or blew a fitting there's no disadvantage in having 3 churning away

    have a 25 lowside and you are absolutely right about weight... of which, you are loaded up. Do you, but id personally lose the hardtop and go to canvas and lose the third screen. Two is plenty. Then again you are saving weight with the 140. I run a yamaha 150 sho. Theres quite a few places to save weight. Lithium batteries perhaps

    • @rusty_adv
      @rusty_adv 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The hard top is made out of the green board, the same thing they use for windmill blades, the whole top is less than 7 lbs, and because it's rigid it needs less aluminum than a soft top. Kinda a wash on weight, and it will last 10x longer. I've moved to lithium tm and house batteries, I think it's spot on for weight now. Next mod will be a different live scope mount...

      It's great in Texas, I can run shallower than most bay boats and up to 100 miles offshore. Yes on rough days a catamaran would be more comfortable, and a flats boat can run shallower. But nothing else will do both as well.

    • @johnpalmer4996
      @johnpalmer4996 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't think because it's narrow it's very tippy. The flat bottom towards the stern slows the rocking like a fan going up and down . I'm 260 pounds and stand on the side of the boat in a choppy inlet and it hardly tips . Going thru inlets off Long Island I steer this boat thru the inlet with boat wakes coming every which way on a crowded weekend and my 25 Panga steers straight thru the choppy waves and is very stable. 25 Foot Eduardono Corvina Panga Boats are highly refined compared to Immensa Pangas.

    Panga is a cheap lightweight row boat that people took and put a bunch of expensive crap on and now it has raised the prices of these cheap boats. There made to have 30hp to 60hp tillers depending on size. And will run 25 to 35 mph top end depending on HP and sip fuel with a 25 gallon tank 250 mile plus range. People then put consoles and big motors on them and fancy consoles and defeated the entire purpose of this hull which is a cheap fuel efficient basic boat for a clamer or bay fisherman to get out and catch there lobster or oysters class etc and go home. So people like you defeat the entire purpose of this hull, if you wanted a offshore center console with all the bells and whistles you should have purchased one. You defeated the purpose of this boat and hull. But people will do whatever they want with there money and its your boat and your money. But I can tell from what you said in the video you kind of wish it was just a simple boat

    • @rusty_adv
      @rusty_adv ปีที่แล้ว

      I could not afford to operate a traditional center console offshore boat, 5.8 mpg is my offshore average ( better on calmer days, worse on rough days). I don't know of any offshore boat that gets that, my jetski wasn't even that efficient. Also, east Matagorda bay is too shallow for most offshore boats. I'll stand by the fact that it is universal and efficient. Nothing wrong with simple, it's just not me. Thx

    • @rusty_adv
      @rusty_adv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hull and composite board to build the deck was right around 10k when I purchased in January, quite a bit of size difference between the 25 and 29. The 25 will cost much less due to the outboard cost, and will be cheaper to operate and easier to transport. If I lived on the coast and did not have to haul the boat for hours, I would consider something bigger. But towing the narrow beam w25ba is a breeze. Check with Rod @bayoutobluewater in San Luis. He's great to work with. And I love my Suzuki 140.
