Just wondering what your using for your transducer mount and how its facing?
@@josephjimena1357 this is how I fastened my transducer to the pole th-cam.com/users/shortsQ0gZG4HMDi0?si=wKjUS7r20y0z2fGz
@@josephjimena1357 And this where I set my transducer for forward live when ice fishing th-cam.com/users/shortssrmb3Dx-KQM?si=I0s3N3KUcYphFEvW
Would you happen to know how deep this unit can scan? Great videos by the way!
@@kyle766 thank you. Forward and down live mode list right down to 200 feet. Stay tuned I will be going deeper in my next videos to use more down live. I have been very impressed so far
@@Eagleeyeice I'm locked in!
What AH battery size are you using and how long have you fishing it on ice; how long does it last? What's the weight of your total set up, ducer, pole, screen, and shuttle. I want something with FFS that's light weight and intrigued with these units. Thanks.
@@aaronalto3034 this unit fit into the same tote/ shuttle I used for my helix 7! It is extremely compact
Does the EE9 come with that much cable so you can set ducer that far away and watch your baits in down or did you have to add lots of cable? Thanks and fun stuff!
That’s the length it came with :)
@@Eagleeyeice Thanks a lot. That looks like a great way to use it.
@ the down live is crisp and amazing but because we fish so shallow sometimes this provides a huge field to cover
@@Eagleeyeice Thanks again. Same approx weight as a flasher right? Same size battery? Thanks again.
@@aaronalto3034 yes the weight of the unit itself is negligible. I’m sure it’s lighter then my smaller helix
I only have about a dozen soft plastics at a time. I've only got 1 bait keeper. I like to have a simple 3 inch swimbait, 4 inch Senko, some kind of ned bait and a creature craw. I have some combination of these in white, black, blue and green. That really covers all of your bases for lakes with any kind of baitfish and crawdads. My home lake is largely shad, I can fish a white swimbait off the bottom, suspended, on the bottom and everything in between. You do NOT need a lot of baits to wack fish.
Хорош 👍
this is the unit i wan tot get due to price, but only thing that im not liking is the narrow beam. here you have it far away from the tent so you can see your lure in forward facing and see fish coming but you cant pan around to see due to ducer/pole being away from tent. and down facing wouldn't work in 15' or less depth because you'll only see 6' total (3' each side of lure) which might as well have a flasher. i might look into Garmin ps22-if just to get more wider beam. but great video and is exactly what i wanted to see, will definitely do more research for ice fishing for a lower cost live sonar option
@@juicechartier it’s a blast inside the tent using down live even shallow, nothing like 2d or flasher. When the fish start comming there is no desire to start scanning, you wanna get to fishing and watch from where they appear. It’s a different world from a flasher or 2d on ice. I though I would be spending more time forward and adjusting but it’s just been fishing with the extra excitement of knowing if they are going for my lure or my sons without having to differentiate by depth alone. The forward live is cool because of range in shallow but down live is absolutely killer killer killer when compared to the same size cone even in ten feet of water. No regrets
Very ingenious and great video! Finally, someone showing real life and unendorsed use. So you're 15 - 17' away from the transducer? The cable from the transducer is that long?
@@redfisher4132 Yes I’m going to show the configuration in my next video :) Thank you
Welcome! Can such an effect be achieved by fishing from a boat? At what depth did you fish
@@gustavklimt2390 you can face forward and down without switching the position of the transducer In a boat you normally face outward. Ice fishing would be inward facing to achieve this result.
How is it in 30 feet of water?
I can’t wait to do down live in deeper water. I will do more deeper forward as well in the next week or two. I’m expecting crystal clear as the auto noise reduction is killer, absolutely love this unit. As compact as it comes. The ability to fish down and forward at two locations with one unit is beyond expectations! Down at transducer location and forward towards shack. Same transducer, only a few presses of the buttons, love it!
I have this unit as well and I’ve used it on 4 outings on the ice so far. Pretty comfortable with down scan but as far as forward scan goes I’m not sure if I’m setting it up right. I mess with my settings based on depth and everything to try and get the screen a bit bigger (I knew going in it wasn’t going to be full display) I see you have it zoomed as well. I guess mainly I’m curious as to how you go about adjusting scan distance and depth settings while using forward to get it as good as your display. Also curious if you mess with any other settings that impact the transducer. Loving the unit so far and thank you for showing it in action!
Move transducer far from hole as possible facing tent and beyond for forward live
@@Eagleeyeice @Eagleeyeice interesting I never thought to put the transducer outside of the tent to use forward. When you do that are you letting the ducer go as far down as it can with the pole or just below thickness of ice a bit? Another question i have is I know on the garmin live units you have to adjust the transducer mount when switching between forward and down mode. Do you feel like that is necessary or do you just toggle between forward and down on the head unit and leave it be?
@ Hey there, the transducer is just below the ice, no need to reposition the transducer for inward to down. If you set up a deadstick in the transducer hole you can fish 2 different spots at the same time using two different methods from inside the tent :)
Maybe next video can you show us the colors available for the screen ! Best icefishing video I’ve seen so far !
Yes, I can do that
Where is the sonar?..outside?
The transducer is as far from the hole as possible facing the tent and beyond for forward facing. I setup a dead stick in the same hole and check in down live with no trouble
How far away are you setting the pole up from your hole?
@@adaml3135 that is one wrap of the shuttle full length
Where can I get this mount?
If you search fishing rod holder on Amazon you’ll see it’s the link piece between the rod holder itself and the base that fastens to the boat. I had bought mine in a two pack so I used it to position the transducer to the pole
That’s bait brought in by the leader tag ends. You can bet if a fish entered the space it would not go missed 😮
Is the delay that bad? Noticed the screen was noticeably slower than you jigging.
Spongy rod with mono and a fluttery lure, didn’t once think to myself it was laggy compared to the 2d sonar I watched last ice fishing season
@ ok good deal, I know active target had a significant lag between jigging and what was shown on screen compared to HB and Garmin
So no more fish even with nice equipment :D Planning to buy it anyway
@@HSuomi Haha, I do Love Love Love it, and won’t have to abandon my boat setup. Very pleased
Whats with all that noise on the screen? Were you not able to tune that out?
@@zbassr2106 Yes it sorted out by toggling noise reduction to medium for the last part of the clip
Where's the fish? 😂
Need more ice videos of this unit in action.
Can you either comment what you bought or make a video about it please?
@@katiepeacock7542 Sure, it’s just a very standard boat fishing rod holder (amazon, I had a couple in the garage) and it’s associated hardware mounted on the bottom of a telescopic shooting pole (also from the garage, removed the pointy end and it fit in). Added two screws at the bottom into the pole and used 2 rubber washers between the bolt and the transducer for all snug and can come apart quick. Hope that helps :)
What battery are you using to run it?
Also what did you use for a shuttle. I have mine ordered just waiting for it to come in. Not many videos on it yet so appreciate your video.
No problem, I use the same base and bag unused for a helix 7 (something I made out of wood) unscrewed the helix mount, screwed on the Lowrance mount and it fit right into that generic 30 dollar sheels bag. I regularly use a 10ah battery im sure would be fine but for this trip managed to fit a 20ah into the case cause I wanted to keep the brightness up and not worry about glare. Yesterday was nice enough to stay outside I really love having this at my disposal for ice fishing after using a helix 7 for 2d ice fishing only I’m amazed at how much area I can cover with forward love in 10 feet of water 🎉
@@Eagleeyeice awesome. Thanknyou
What pole are you using to mount transducer.
@@johnp.966 Hello, it is a telescopic shooting stick I had in the garage (cut off the pointy end) with a portion of a standard fishing rod holder a rubber washer x2. Both items were in my garage and worked to get the transducer mounted and into a hole as soon as I could.
