GOD RELATES TO ME NOT ACCORDING TO MY POTENTIAL BUT ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS DONE IN JESUS CHRIST (cf. Phil. 3:7-11). The righteousness in righteousness by faith is the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF JESUS, “not a righteousness of my own” (v. 9a) not even what the Spirit does through me, not now, not in the past and not in the future, but THE PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST ALONE. It is so powerful that it drove Paul to love Christ even unto death. Note, Paul’s love of Christ is not that righteousness. Instead, the “righteousness from God that depends on faith” (v. 9b) is God’s gift of Christ’s righteousness (Romans 5:17). We must be careful not to conflate our loving response to God’s gift of righteousness by faith in Christ with the righteousness of Christ Himself. All of our potential and/or actual righteous acts combined in response to the gospel can never afford us a right relationship with God. Only the righteousness of Christ can put us in right standing with God. The context of Gospel Workers, p. 288, is not a definition of RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH (imputed righteousness of JUSTIFICATION) but the IMPARTED RIGHTEOUSNESS (SANCTIFICATION) the Holy Spirit activates in us that we might be fruitful in love: “But it is the life of Christ in the soul, it is the ACTIVE PRINCIPLE OF LOVE IMPARTED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, that alone will make our words FRUITFUL. The love of Christ is the force and power of every message for God that ever fell from human lips.” ~GW 288 While justification is the root of righteousness by faith, sanctification is the fruit expressed in loving obedience (Gal. 5:22). A true Christian will only do things that God asks him to do. And God asks to do things that only He can do. Foremost is to overcome sin which can only be done through righteousness by faith. so be careful about concluding that Phil. 4;13 does not have anything to do with strength over sin. Hindi naman magulo yung point. Gospel ang ipangaral at hindi fundamental beliefs. Pag nanampalataya ang listener at nais sumali sa iglesia, dito very instrumental ang indoctrination para maiset-up ang foundation ng convert.. aminin natin na maraming evangelist na SDA doctrine ang ipinangangaral para mabinyagan.. yun siguro main reason marami ang mag backslide.. naconvince na tama ang doktrina pero hindi naman tinanggap ang power of God unto salvation from sin..
