How affordable are store fronts or restaurant’s as to leasing or purchasing ?

Keep in I’m from California born and raised. I live and own in Winston. All the areas mentioned in this video are primarily white areas. King is a former sundown town. Lexington has two sides to it. Davidson county yes low taxes but there issues with equity and inclusion. High point used to bad in 2015. Pfafftown Pfafftown has excellent schools, private and charter. People stay away from certain HOA’s. Yes she is right the rural areas give you bang for your buck. To be honest so do fixer uppers. Also about the basements some older with a select new homes have basement. Now Mocksville is okay all of these places are pretty much the same just go with what feels best for work and schools. Also keep in mind doctor’s offices food options taxes and crime rates. Check out all sides of town if you visit. That way you can make a judgment decision on where to live in NC.

Kristen, I may be contacting you in the future since I am interested in relocating from Charlotte area to Winston Salem area. Charlotte has changed drastically during past 30 years that I have been here. It is extremely expensive here now. The Winston Salem area reminds me of Charlotte about 30 years ago. Video was very informative.

How about hardware stores like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace Hardware..etc nearby.? Like 10 to 20min?

Kristen helped us find our home in Lexington NC. She works hard and fast. We bought a D R Horton home and we love it. We have a little over 1/2 acre, which is small for that subdivision, but it's very quiet and neighbors are respectful. And prices in Lexington are still below $400,000.

I watch a lot of Winston Salem videos, and anyone hardly talk about the weather or maybe I missed it. 😊 so my question is, does it has hard weather like tornado, hailstorm, forest fires, floods or snow storms?

How did Mt. Airy and King do with Helene as far as flooding or other storm damage is concerned? I was looking at Wilkesboro and Elkin but it looks like they had a lot of flooding.

I moved to Winston and all i can say is it was very boring, no museums, no aquariums, no zoos , no attractions, if u like peace and quiet, no scenery go for it!

Winston-Salem is the most quiet city in the USA

I was born in Winston-Salem 58 years ago and have spent most of my life within an hour or so of it's town limits. We lived in Lewisville, NC from 1970 - 1979 when it was just a sleepy little town that was just being discovered and large estates were first being built by ridiculously wealthier folks in the area. Of all the places I have lived in this area - Winston-Salem, Lewisville, East Bend, Clemmons and now Kernersville, Kernersville has to be my absolute favorite - still has a small-time vibe and friendliness, but larger-town amenities and excellent hospitals. Let us not forget nearby Belews Creek Lake! Plus, it's centrally located in the Triad, which makes it an even bigger win - the roads in Kernersville were not adequately planned for the expansion it has received, so if you don't like traffic - avoid Kernersville (and Clemmons, too, as their traffic has been terrible for a very long time). Being retired is a plus, though, as I do not have to travel during peak times :D
