Pacific Coast Highway: Road Trippin’ Big Sur in Our Classic Truck & Camper
Join us on an unforgettable road trip as we travel from Tucson, AZ, to New Jersey, taking five weeks to explore some of the most scenic spots in the United States! After spending a year rebuilding a 1964 GMC truck and restoring a 1963 Shasta camper, we're hitting the road with our classic rig in tow.
In this video, we document the breathtaking beauty of California’s Pacific Coast Highway. From the stunning coastline to the rugged cliffs of Big Sur, we explore the charming town of Carmel-by-the-Sea and take in the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. We’ve never been to the West Coast before, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words just how incredible this drive is.
Follow along as we experience the wonders of the coast, share our thoughts on life on the road, and reflect on how far we've come in our journey-both with the truck and in our lives.

It is nice to see these cars coming back to life . I have worked on these cars since there introduction in 1990 and now i am retired and have fun with my 1998 mint GSX .
How about a video on renewing CCW for NJ?
Pricing the Permit out of reach for a lot of us.
one handed shooting seems stupid
Some cool spots here guys! It was fun to see your adventures.
Thank you! This was the trip of a lifetime!
Always love me some Highway 1/Big Sur time! Thanks for sharing!!
Big Sur is amazing!
Have you been to the John Steinbeck museum in Salinas? I hear they have his restored 1960 GMC with the Alaskan camper that is in his book "Travels With Charlie" there.
I haven't ill have to check that out!
One correction, I checked out the You Tube: It is a Wolverine camper, not an Alaskan, sorry. The GMC had the 305 big V-6.
Hell ya dude!
I want to see doughnuts!
Sick Rollers!!!! Love'd it
Thanks man!
New rigs got nothin’ on your set up! The nostalgia is glorious.
Some folks use linseed oil... I did that here on our offgrid solar rack,,, wife wanted rusted look,,, and I must admit it looks great,,, she was right,,, fast and cheap,,, looks great...peace...
I've heard of using linseed oil before!
Great video. Did a 2006 tbss today with the 3 relay spal fan kit. Ecu plugs and pins are a little different but this video still helped a ton. Thanks
Thanks man glad it helped you out!
That wagon was sick. Love your rigs, patina is great. New subscriber
Thanks for subscribing!
Wow! thank you for sharing that, I love that truck and camper! You just gave me some ideas.
Glad you enjoyed it! We're loving this trip too!
Nice rig! When my wife and I moved from So Cal to Nor Cal in 1985, I drove our '65 Chevy C20 (250 6, 3 on the tree) pulling a 1958 Aljo camp trailer. She drove her '72 Pinto. A smooth trip, no problems although the Grapevine downhill loaded was interesting. Those floor-mounted dimmer switches are notorious for grenading. You can do a quick bypass using a paper clip. I carry a spare switch these days in the glovebox of my current '71 GMC C2500.
Sweet rig, I had a 66 Play-Mor, had to sell around covid, the only thing I did care for is the 100 or so different people asking me questions every time I took it out 😢😂😂😂
What a great truck and camper. Love the vintage! It's good you are so handy and mechanically inclined to make the repairs on the fly. Thanks for taking us along :)
It's definitely a labor of love!
Smooth runner!!
sure is!
Where did you get your dashboard electronics from... I like the digital cluster setup... thank you...
Dakota digital for the cluster and cruise control!
Thank you...
Thank you for the content,,, we have my Father's old 57 truck,,, we have to redo the running gear and we have and old trailer too... watching your channel is very inspiring to us,,, thank you for the motivation... safe travels,,, peace,,, from northern off grid Arizona... 😊
Thank you! I loved Arizona! My favorite state!

Omg thank you Sherri ❤️
@RalphsGarage 🥰
That is my favorite Beach and it's the best beach in Florida
It was beautiful!
Nice truck and camper! The meal Melissa made looked yummy.
Thanks man! We're trying to make it a real journey!
Why did u have to have it patched?
the ECM was not controlling the fan it needed the Fan control logic patched into the ECM.
Wasn't Clint Eastwood back in the days mayor of Carmel by the sea?
I didn't know that but I looked it up and it's true!
For some years too ! He was a successful mayor 👍

How'd you know that?
#cozy
Cozy❤
If you dont want to walk...or what ever my lot i will praise cause a better one is coming..says the lord
Not a waste of time but do what ever you'd like its your life.
Bout to do this swap myself! how are those unequal length headers treating you? I heard they are more a downside than an upside.
Sold this a while ago. It was a good daily for a few years though!
Just curious, i dont have my fid yet but i intend to get it soon & buy a snubnose revolver. Is it the same for that? 6 round revolver but just have to load 5 rounds per for the test? Thank you
😊
Love you ❤
Love seeing the world with you ❤️
living through your pictures love these and love ❤you both. as my saying goes please be safe.
Did you keep the EJ20 plugs or did you put the EJ25 plugs into the EJ20?
I think i ran the EJ25 plugs but double check the depth and all this was a long time ago.
Congratulations to the coolest globetrotters I know !!! Safe travels, love yas!!🎉😊
Pulling on the sight to cycle the slide? Not prudent. It isn't a handle.
Cycling with the optic doesn't hurt a thing I've been doing it for years with no problems on any of pistols. A duty grade optic makes a great handle IMO

Lotsa big talkers in the comments, but what are you doing to change it?
Nice truck you got there
Thanks!
Xoxo ❤
Do you have suggestions for holster and belt? Also optics for pistol. I have a glock 19 and going for my qualification on 12/7
I checked it says 3,5,7,10,15 - you guys are firing from 25yrds?? 😮😮 I would miss all 10
25 yards is a very easy shot. And yes the qualification has changed since I made this video.
@ thank you kindly. Yes I appreciate your videos and learning alot. Please continue helping and educating us.
Def some interesting stuff out there in Joshua Tree.
Some weird sh*t 🤣
I'm so happy for you!
How much did you end up spending on total build ?
Not sure man I try not to keep track of those kind of things haha
@ ball park what you think ?im on a budget and im thinking of going ls
Labor time what would you say it takes
Depends on you really can be done in an hour or so.
