Wonderful info, thanks! I'd be curious to see how an average client views proposals though. I know some freelancers who are sending out 200+ proposals a month. I think I did 100+ last month. There's not enough time to personalize each proposal like some of these people did. I'm lost on what to do. I apply to 100 jobs, get 50 viewed, and end up with less than 10% hire rate. If I slow down and personalize each proposal, the job has 20 applicants already by the time I spend the time crafting a quality proposal and mine doesn't get viewed half the time. It's hard out here for us freelancers. And people posting $100 jobs with $1000 or less spent on Upwork can be just as picky about the proposals as you were in this video. I feel like I'm in an arena battling to the death against a million other freelancers. I won't give up though!

I've got a question, Are the proposals arranged as they were submitted? Or the new ones comes up while the first goes down as new ones are submitted?

The most painful thing about upwork is that you cant reach out to a real human when you have these kinds of issues. Freelancers should be more careful.

My wife paid Nick Georgandis a very large sum on money to write for her. Nick took the money and ran. Over several months she tried contacting him via text, voice & email. Nick ghosted her. I will now do all I can to let others know to be very careful who you give $$ to.

I just had that happen to me as well, I provided an external link to book a Calendly call and they flagged me. So now I have provided the Upwork scheduling link on the proposal.

I just got 30 days suspended with the possibility of appeal. Final notice though. Would love to share my story.

I'm new to Upwork and just received an invite to schedule an interview through an external link. I've read through Upwork's terms and conditions, but when I tried to clarify this question (about clicking on external links to schedule interviews through Skype) in Upwork chat , it says its OK to do. It left me needing more clarity. So, I am sooo glad that I decided to do further research on this question on TH-cam before I clicked on the external link. Thank you so much for doing this video and thank you Harlan for sharing your experience!

Well, its very clear @Upwork should respect their freelancers, they can't punish them for someone else's mistake. I hope sanity will prevail and there will be a difference in Upwork and Fiverr's 3rd class Service Support.

This is why I always specify: "Happy to meet on an Upwork-Hosted Zoom call" to discuss.
