Design to Print: fidget spinner
Fusion 360 Tutorial:
Today I am designing a basic fidget spinner that I printed out.
We go through the steps from design to printing, although I am brand new to printing and still figuring it out.
Let me know in the comments what you think.
PS the print didn't turn out great. but next time it will.

Good work, thanks for sharing this information.👍
What is the purpose of the yellow sprocket?
It turns the mechanism
how does the lengths of the rods change?
Sliding in and out of the silver cylinder part
God loves you, turn to Jesus Christ, Because He is the only God, the only way to Heaven. Repent and read the Bible. He wants you to be part of His Kingdom of Heaven, Be Baptised. ✝️❤️
👍🏼
Imagine some Japanese Shinto Priest writing stuff about land gods and ancestor worship in the comments. Imagine what that would look like, because that is you, just worst because you probably are a protestant heretic anyways. So instead of a real Shinto Priest, its actually just some uneducated American anime lover saying this.

Much better sound. Thanks
It’s a pleasure. Learnt a bit of mic technique and also doing edits with headphone so I can get levels right
I literally cannot hear what you are saying. With the intro music so loud, TH-cam basically muted the rest of your video.
Sorry, old video. Hadn’t gotten the hang of editing. Check out some of the newer ones
Hi i am new to Fusion and was following along on this design but after making the tangent lines for the flange i cannot get the outer circle lines to delete - how to do this?😊
Hi, if you mean in the sketch workspace all you need to do is click on the line so that it is highlighted and then hit delete or backspace.
@Fusionfundamentals Thank you - my error I figured what I did wrong - I finished the sketch before I did the outer flange - remodeled and it worked as you.showed - thanks for your videos they are great
@daverowe5351 glad to hear it
Very cool design. I really enjoyed your use of circular patterns. The only issues I see is that large fillets on the bottom of a print tend to sag and not have a good surface finish. I would lean more toward distance/angle chamfers, followed by very small fillets. This would make the print more esthetically pleasing.
Cool thanks for the advice
Awesome video! I knew there was a way to do this with 'coil' but I just couldn't figure it out. I do have a problem, after I create the loft and thicken, there is a gap on the root of the prop blade - to explain a little better, its the inner coil geometry making contact with the cylinder and due to the thickness of the blade, one blade face does not make contact with the cylinder. Hopefully this makes sense...I would love a hand cleaning this up if possible! Thanks!
AHHH :D I figured it out, when I used the 'thicken' command, I selected symmetric as opposed to one side. Going back and selecting one side, it 'thickens INTO the cylinder. Cool thanks again, great videos!!! :)
Thanks man. So glad it was helpful. Messages like yours really make my day. I love 3d design
Thanks.
👍🏼
I am definitely coming to check this 🧐
You should!
I like your videos. But you should get better sound :) maybe a better mike closer.
I did this one with my new mic so it’s clear I just need to get the volume levels right
Thx man you are best!
Glad I could help
Wouldn't it be a little bit more straight forward to create the blade with a sweep (sketch a radius line and surface sweep it along an axis line)?
It could be. Give it a try and see. Often I just do what makes sense to me because I haven’t thought of another way of doing something. So long as you end up with the correct model you are on the right track
I *love* Onshape - it's my favorite piece of software! It's not nearly as bad as you make it seem (for example, it _does_ support auto dimensions - no need to press D all the time, it also allows multiple line segments if you click the endpoints instead of dragging your line, and lots more). It runs anywhere where I have a browser (including Linux, Chromebooks, etc.), UI and model view renders more beautiful and I lose work much less often (case in point: The "unsaved" warning in Fusion - it simply cannot happen in Onshape). BUT: if there's even the slightest chance that you ever use of your designs commercially, you should go with Fusion instead! Onshape _starts_ at 1500$ per year for commercial use, even if you make only 1$ per year from your tiny Etsy store…
Planet nibiru 1 year is 3,600 Earth years.🤔
Cool
Solid Edge. Its free and much better than both these 2
I’ll check it out. Thanks
What is the difference between solid edge and solidworks? Thanks!

Fixed axis rotating pump in 2 Reciprocating masses will ALWAYS cause material failure, no matter how much you engineer the material fir use.

👌
POV: you can’t last a year
👍🏼
really???!!! if moved to neptune i'll be more older XD??
no, youd be younger cause you would only age 1 year per 165 earth years
👍🏼
@@xerosfs the time a planet goes around the sun does not effect the aging of a living being
Thank you so much. That saved a lot of time. You're a legend.

very helpfull i was looking for this type of video

at 0:47 you typed the dimensions, you did not mention how to do it and I am stuck. I click anywhere, on the link outside line and inside the rectangle, I can't get the option to type. your teaching method sucks. Sorry
Hi, you can just press the “d” key and it will bring up the dimension option. You can also click on the dimension tool at the top.
What software are you using to design these models?
Model parts in fusion360 and you can use blender to animate them

👍🏻
So cool thanks
Glad you like it 💪🏼
You legend! I tired this a few weeks ago with something and it was giving me grey hairs!!!
I’m so glad you found this. 🥳🥳🥳 I literally had a dream about making a donut 🍩 in Fusion and had to figure it out
@@Fusionfundamentals you kind of blendered fusion 🤣
lol yeah. I got a few videos that have close to nothing to do with engineering design and are just random

What is the pitch of those blades
Not sure what the exact pitch is unfortunately. I did the drawing with a coil but if you look at the rotation and height could calculate the pitch probably. Another option that might work is to extrude a cylinder and add thread to it and specify pitch. Then use the 3d geometry of the thread
Thanks for this quick useful vid!
It’s my pleasure
Btw instead of doing the copy of blade, it's probably more proper (but equally functional) to do a circular pattern around the center of the mounting point.
Exactly what I needed! Thanks!
Glad it helped
I love

Kk🎉
wow, very easy using the spring method
Glad it helped
Can't hear sound like you have your head in a fish tank..lol
😳 the whole video?
Great tutorial, but you definitely need a better microfoon, this one sounds like you have a towel over the mic....
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I’ll look into it
Next. Please make a Three foil knot tutorial.

wooo. I'm just starting to learn, so that would be awesome!
