The ten virtuous karmas I resolve: 1. I resolve not to kill. Instead, I will respect and have compassion for all beings. 2. I resolve not to steal. Instead, I will only take something when I have permission from the owner. 3. I resolve not to engage in sexual misconduct or in any sensory indulgence. Instead, I will develop the mind of self-restraint and purity. 4. I resolve not to use false speech. Instead, I will speak the truth in a wise way and at the right time. 5. I resolve not to use divisive speech. Instead, I will speak words that foster harmony and understanding. 6. I resolve not to use harsh speech. Instead, I will speak words that benefit others and foster peace. 7. I resolve not to use enticing speech. Instead, I will speak sincerely and truthfully. 8. I resolve to refrain from greed. Instead, I will open my heart and practice giving. 9. I resolve to refrain from anger. Instead, I will develop patience and the compassion to see the suffering of others. 10. I resolve to refrain from ignorance. Instead, I will disciple myself and calm my mind so that I can act from wisdom. Thanks for all contribution made to bring this precious wisdom to us. Namo Amituofo. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you Venerable Wuling! (1) Does impatience fall into the category of greed (one of the 3 primary afflictions)? (2) If so, then by being more aware of and making efforts to lower our greed, we will also naturally become more patient?

Since impatience arises when we fail to get what we want, I'd say yes, it's a form of greed. Craving less and according more, we'll find that we're more accepting of the reality of everyday conditions. When we're more accepting, we'll find we're less impatient. Desires and expectations will have been replaced with understanding. And we'll be more content.

Venerable Wuling, Thank you for this encouraging video! Although I chant “Amituofo” because I speak Mandarin, but most of the people I know are English speaking only. If they are not comfortable with pronouncing “Amituofo”, how should they chant in English?

Respected Venerable Master Wu Ling, Amituofo! My name is Michael, who's a 30-year-old boy from Jiangsu, China. I've been a long-time follower of Venerable Master Chin Kung, through whom I came across your Dharma lectures which have benefited me tremendously. I am writing to express my utmost gratitude to you. Thank you so much for tirelessly spreading the Dharma and illuminating so many lost souls. Meanwhile, I have a few questions for you. 1. We all know that the main sutra that Master Chin Kung has been propagating is the compiled version of Infinite Life Sutra by Xia Lianju. Why is there still not an "official" English translation available? Have you planned to translate it into English? 2. It seems that you speak little Chinese, while Master Chin Kung speaks no English. Did you learn the Dharma from him all through a translator or interpreter? Could you please share with me the story between you and Master Chin Kung? 3. Did your mother believe in the pure land and chant Amituofo? Was she reborn in the pure land? How did she react when she learned of your leaving home as a Buddhist nun? Please forgive me if I am asking too many unnecessary questions. Looking forward to your reply. May Amitabha be with you every second. Namo Amitabha Buddha! My e-mail is 1543700069@qq.com
