I recommend fast forwarding the video at 15:10 for about 5 minutes. I couldn't edit it and it's a bit boring to be honest. 😁

Thanks for the video. I have just acquired an SP400, and it looks like it has a carb from a GN400. At 8:47 there is a cover on the right hand side of the carb body - three screws holding it on. What is it / what's underneath it?
Sorry for the late reply, it is part of the choke mechanism. There is a diaphragm under the cover.
Thank you so much for making this, I've been struggling to work out where the hell that floating gear went and was losing my mind.
I've been putting motor in for 10 years almost done
R100 got some power eh?
Yes, about 70+
I'm doing a r75 /5and having trouble with clutch rod how long should it be?
what do you need to do to the bmw clutch to get it to work with the dnepr gearbox ?

Hi....I'm looking to go the BMW engine/dnepr gear box route. can you give some useful help as to what needs to be done ? i've seen snippets of info online but nothing to follow.. thanks
Hi, where did you get the hi ratio 4th gears??? Best regards
I get a lot of parts from Windmill spares. He is on Ebay.
Hello!! Thanks for the video. I've got a question, I've got a Dneper with a r80 engine, I transform it, use a r50 cluth disc, but I change it 2 times, because it lose the "teeth " of the disc... The question is which clutch disc did you use it?? Thank you very much
How are you getting on with the BMW engine and the final drive? Mine has a tendency to eat the final drive. 2wd DEP.
Just now, i was looking what this rubber bands point is, and i stumbled on your video. Thank you. Regards from Slovenia 🙋🏽♂️
I find that the o ring on the top hat bush is easier to install if you put it on the bush and then drop that over the stantion into the slider and then assemble the rest of the collar and gland nut and install over the top as the o ring is held in-place.
Nice…
Hey I have a manual. I have been working on an original 1981 GN 400 with 1082 miles on it. Sat in a garage since 82. I can help you if you need the manual. I can make a copy? Where do I find the foam for the filter. Cheers!!
Hey, I have a 1981 GN 400 too, but i don't have a manual, are you willing to share it ?
I just finished top n bottom end but now carb issues
Great information and thank you so much, just a quick question. Did you start with a complete donor bike or just a motor ? Thanks…
Did you already found the problem? ( switch the bolt inside in the middle to the left)
Nice job on the motor swap, what year bmw can be installed. Thanks in advance…
did you use the bmw loom ? i wondered about the electics on this. is the bmw generator a three phase ? what do the two wires that connect to the brushes do & where do they go...thanks
Hello James, I made my own loom up from 7 core trailer wire. Yes the BMW alternator is 3 phase. The two wires from the brushes go to the diode board, or if you have one a reg/rec.
@@mrPaullau so if you are starting with made from scratch loom. the three phase wires from the generator would go to the three on a single unit modern reg.rect then plus and minus from reg/rect to the battery.....that df connector ......can it be fed 12v from the igniton when tuned on the feed the rotar 12v ?
@@jamesconnors4297 When I did the rewire I didn't touch the charging or ignition circuit only the lighting, handle bar and instrument loom. The new reg/rec will sort the charging side of things.
Hi. Do you have any knowledge of doing this job on a 1975 Ural 650? It is a slightly different setup on my M67 and I am struggling to find anyone who can help me. I have had the forks out 5 times so far after I replaced the fork seals due to a leak. Unfortunately the seals keep sticking to the chrome on the forks. I take the forks apart to free the seals but, after a short time, they stick again.
Sorry I only have experience with these fork's.
@@mrPaullau No worries. All sorted now thanks. 👍
I think if you machine a groove in the front and back portion of the front crank main bearing surface in the "guitar" you will drastically reduce the surface are of the front main bearing surface. I think that is why other folks have be using a front and rear plate to hold the old seal..
My bad. I forgot hat the Dnepr has ball bearings on the Crank. Was thinking of BMW 247 engines. Good luck with your changes.
Sorted 👍 thanks for letting me help The rod is En16T which is a hardened steel, should be perfect for the job
Thanks mate, that's exactly what I meant. 😂😂😂
Hello, This the first video of a Dnepr with a Beemer engine that actually will help me . I am doing the same using a 1975 r90/6 engine with a Ural (modified) gear box. I am uncertain if I can use the wiring loom of the 1984 Dnepr. The wiring is old and the the color of the wire has faded!! Multimeter with hours of tracing. I was looking for a new harness but can't seem to find one. Anyway great video and thanks Regards Maurice
Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for your comment and for watching. I found it easier to make my own loom.
Muchas gracias, saludos desde España

Danke schön. Ich habe diese gesehen und obwohl ich kein Deutsch sprechen kann, kann ich sie verstehen. 😁👍
Lol love it bud, hope I'm a good influence 😉
Very helpful vidéo and comments. I am surprised to see all the threads left hand or this is just a reversed vidéo 🤔 ?
Sorry for the late reply, yes the video is reversed. I used the front camera on my phone.
@@mrPaullau no problem, i rebuilted my MT10 front fork last month, i thank you again for sharing your expérience 👍
where did you buy the oil pan with integrated filter?
I got it from Motoren Isreal in Germany.
класс !)
Спасибо
Nice moto 👍
Спасибо.
The russian coil is typical for e igition. Why dont you use that? Google sovek 👌. Planned to water tight the fuse box? Its your bike but Its becoming a real frankenstein...
Your polarity is wrong
Thank you Dave. I did manage to sort it out by increasing the shielding gas flow.
bought myself an iz49, had problems with gearbox, took it apart and took few months to fix it since i had no knowledge of gearboxes or bikes, took it on a long ride, suddenly no power and the bike just stopped. might have over heated the piston and cylinder. haven't had enough energy to work on it again since i just fixed it :D i'm guessing overheating isn't so weird in these older soviet bikes :D
If I may ask: Did you take apart the spring and shock valve (stem) assembly at all ? Are there any serviceable bits in the assembly please ?
I did strip the entire assembly. The only serviceable parts are the seals.
You might need to put some argon purge gas inside the pipe with a bleed hole at the other end so internal pressure does not get to high. I saw a few tig welds on stainless steel tubing that looked like that in a factory I worked in. Good Luck.
I thought that you only need to purge if you TIG? I think that I sorted it though. My shielding gas was shite.
My last statement was very badly worded, sorry. What I meant to say was any comments, constructive or otherwise are welcome. Thank you.
Well, what kind of fuel do you use? 95 normal?
Normally you should be able to get matching pistons...It may take a bit of back and forth but eventually you should be able to get two matching ones... Just don't mess with them, send them back and ask for a matching pair...
Hello Aleksey, why don't you screw the caps with the O-ring on the lower fork legs first? Then the O-ring will stay where it is and will not roll up, I think?
Hi Ive been enjoying the vids what happened to the dnepr Engine Al
Thank you. I shelved it when I got the BMW engine. I will still rebuild it and fit it in something.
Good luck from ukraine !) kmz mt dnepr best !)
спасиба Вам балшыо
Thank you Aleksey. Yes I did put a copper washer on the bolt. I have never used a spring washer on top but I will keep an eye on it. 👍
2:04 a copper or aluminum washer and a bolt lock washer must be placed under the bolt, otherwise oil will flow through the thread.
great job!)
