Rainy Black Forest Ride: Suzuki V Strom 800 DE
Filmed this video on the day I dropped off the XR600R for service and picked up a Suzuki V Strom 800 DE. It started out sunny but quickly turned into a very moody and misty afternoon ride. The atmosphere on the B500 black forest road was quite magical. Normally and especially on the weekend it is rather busy and you are barely alone. Usually you have a fabulous view riding on the ridge of the mountain, but here the only thing visible was the dark tree tops peeking out of the mist.

Lean back and follow me on an ASMR motorcycle ride on my dads 1993 XR. We will ride along through deep green forest and ascend on the famous B500 Schwarzwaldhochstraße. Listen to relaxing piano and the sound of the 591cc engine. Hope you enjoy this short escape from reality & you get to ride your bike this weekend. :)

Hey, this is my dads bike. He bought it in 1993 and never rode it very much. He gave it to me 3 years ago because he saw how much I was breaking on my big & heavy adv bike and because he no longer rides the XR. xD

I am 180cm tall, for me the height is no issue. :) Seat and position is very comfy

Hey, vielen lieben Dank. Das freut mich mega zu hören. Ich muss zugeben, dass das Video eher spontan entstanden ist und ich hier Clips einfach mit dem Handy gefilmt habe. Ich tue mich noch sehr schwer mit TH-cam Videos und meistens entsteht so ein Video dann eher ohne viel Planung. Deshalb freut es mich umso mehr, dass es dir "trotzdem" so gut gefallen hat. :)
Ich komme irgendwie optisch mit diesem Frontstachel nicht klar, top Bike, aber das Design polarisiert finde ich
ja, das ist immer so eine Sache. :D ich finde es erinnert doch sehr an die alte DR Big Suzuki und das ist eigentlich ganz cool.

Hi :) I just used the insta360 with the wind noise setting. I think I also used some noise reduction in the editing but also made sure to use clips that were not too noisy. :)
Hab auch ne XR600R und wohne auch im Schwarzwald. Gibt aber schönere Strecken als die B500 da 😉 Die meide ich wie der Teufel das Weihwasser😅

I got over my fear of riding in the rain and with some good grippy tires and a bit of care, the Black Forrest in the rain is amazing, especially the side roads high up, they start looking a bit misty and magical with the deep forest arround. And sometimes you go above and there's a sea of clouds and mist that looks insane. Nice bike, I have the big 1050 brother.
Yes, it is quite an amazing setting to ride with basically no far view and visibility. Sometimes in winter here, you can get above the cloud and fog level by driving to the highest point. Quite nice to peak out of the grey and get some sunshine.

It's quite an undertaking to make this kind of video in nice weather.... so respect for persevering in the rain. I know how tiresome it can be to get on and off the bike when it's wet, just to move/stop/start the camera!
Thanks Simon! It happened all very spontaneously and I just ended up combining my random clips. The atmosphere up there was just too good to not stop and get some shots.

Die v Strom 800 DE ist auch auf meiner Liste, optisch schaut sie gut aus und hat nen großen Tank :D die Tendez liegt bei mir eher auf die Ktm 790 adventure oder n benelli 702 :D
Die V Strom fand ich echt super. Macht Spass und ist echt preiswert

I have not had the chance to try the V Strom Offroad but to be honest I find the small tank of the F900 to be a real bummer. The model I tried had the larger forks and ZF shock. So in terms of suspension not comparable to the stock V Strom. :) but also a couple of thousand euros between the two😅
@@jhhjuliemoto Thanks Julie , really appreciate the work you put into Instagram as well, you are inspiring me to get back on the road in Europe, I still have a Vstrom 1000 that is very economical for a big bike but I am looking at the 800DE because it is lighter and I am 68 years old !
