40:45 I think for the story that they need to do what they will be able to live with. Yes the mom is dying but the living are who carry the burden of the lie. If they are okay with just letting it go for the sake of the mother then they should not say anything to the mom. Also just an out of the box idea what if the mom was okay with it or even planned it. There are some cases where the partner doesn't want their spouse to be left alone after their passing and they set up meetings themselves for the sake of their partner. If the child really wants to know they can always probe with some strategically asked questions like oh dad have you talked about the future, your future and ours's with mom. Yes its a difficult conversation but if they really want to make the best decision on their part its better if they get a better picture or all the information possible.

I actually really relate to the whole "religious smugness" some people put on because i think people get off on them being holier than thou and also 'saving' you by making you believe what you are. My step aunt tried to convert my cousin who converted him to Jehovas Witness when he was younger and it was kind of messed up period in his life. The things she would say and the things he would have to say in front of her just to appease her was rough. Even as a kid i could see he didnt want to disappoint her but he didnt want to be pressured into doing anything. It was actually really eye opening to me that she tried to instill these beliefs onto him and it definitely fucked with him in some ways. Shit was messed up, if she's reading this comment *Insert CW catchphrase here*! People should come to their own conclusions on religion and forcing beliefs onto others is not the move. Personally tho, i do think that theres SOMETHING out there, i am just unsure who or what it is. Too many coincidences and things happen for me to think otherwise. I've too had weird dreams and life experiences where my brain made me feel like i was seeing some weird void and figures that were quite terrifying but part of me chalks it up to some weird drug and stress enduced nightmare that put me in a hospital. Who really knows.

Also a Catholic to agnostic.. i grew up with the fear of God like you guys mentioned that you do or don't doXYZ youre going to hell..also being shunned by the church for asking too many questions heh...I felt conflicted during high school and beginning of uni when i was struggling mentally and they told me that I wasn't praying hard enough and they talked shit about people taking meds.. that made me renounced my faith.. i felt lost and scared but surprisingly my major gave me comfort and taught me how to be comfortable with the uncertainty .. never had this much peace ^^ Also when I die i want to be a vinyl record! I told my friend what songs to put on me and my friend wants to have a viking death 😂

I also worked in behavioral therapy and i felt exactly what Nani did.. I've also had my hair pulled, bitten, scratched, pinched, punched, kicked, and even threatened with the older ones.. worked for 2 years and left because we were so short staffed (people were getting covid and thought it was a good idea to send another person in) and they made me take new cases and do overtime for an entire month. They just made me jump in there without no knowledge about the kiddos I was working with and some were not easy cases. I just broke and cried everyday. I love my kiddos that i built rapport with those two years but sucks when parents and teachers dont provide support for the people working with their kids and think of it as baby sitting. Only take the job if this is a career you want to go in.

As someone who worked food service during my college years, I totally can relate to the whole hating retail, I feel like it's a mix of people being too dumb for words but they think that they're smarter than you. It's so condescending and I too was surrounded by people who smoked. I'm glad you two are working at better jobs now tho!

working at school war flashbacks. I had a person come in to pick up their brother for a family emergency, but their name was misspelled in our system and the kid didn't have an emergency card so I couldn't release the kid cause I couldn't properly verify who they were. Then by the end of class the mom came in yelling at me. Shout out to the health aide who stood up for me and sent her an emergency card to fix the problem. Update yo emergency cards please!

omg being with someone and you go silent for a bit and when they talk to you again you think it's all good but there's still resentment. My hubby n I have developed a talking system where if we had a dispute we would calm down and then elaborate if we still have hard feelings.

Im glad i went through community college but it sometimes it felt like an eternity to get through. What sucked most was waiting for courses that only came around every other semester, you're essentially waiting for it to be available so you can take it, but you can end up waiting for another year, sometimes two for a course to open up. It also didnt help that sometimes you felt like a super senior and you are seeing alot of people graduate and move on while youre still sitting there, sometimes having to take the units again or whatever the reason may be. That said, i am sitting on four different AA degrees so thats not too shabby lol Would i go back and do it again? Absolutely but theres plenty i would do different!

Tuition in Cali is absolutely bonkers.

PREACH! I wanted to go into the arts when I was in high school but counseling/teachers/family destroyed that dream and being in a "certain program" its go straight to university or you failed.. I remember one teacher in charge of the program got angry at the class because most were going to community college.. tbh i would have gone to community college back then if I knew the things i know now.. gone back to community for my art degrees.. the teachers were great and very supportive and very lenient with deadlines! My ass is traumatized from uni that I get anxiety being in school and working on assignments/projects Also my tuition was 20k per quarter 🙃thanks financial aid and grants.. I'm the one that's 30k in debt.. down to 18k yay... OTL

49:16 I was there when the student unalived themselves and was one of the first people to discover the body. It was the very first day of the semester and it was early af too. 7 am and the dude hung himself over the bridge that connects the parking structure to the campus. Pretty crazy start to a semester, I'd say.

I only went to college for the financial aid, tbh.
