Yes, this is very tragic. I don’t think she ever called them by name, and that’s the one thing stuck in my head. From the very beginning, she took it for granted that the Straw Hats couldn’t overcome CP9 and the five vice admirals from the Buster Call. Yes, CP9 defeated them… but looking at it from Nami’s perspective, she still believed Luffy and Zoro would be okay and that they could win. Completely opposite mindsets, right? Robin saw Luffy defeat Crocodile-so does CP9 really seem scarier than one of the Seven Warlords?

@GiraffeReactionsZone cp9 has the backing of the entire world government so fighting them is like making the world your enemy. It's not just about if you can win this battle against cp9 but if you do win you will surely be hunted down by even stronger forces. But then again, they are pirates so the world is already not very happy with them anyways

Yeah, their story fits our world more than the One Piece world, which is why it's easier to understand and feel sorry for them. On the contrary, I’m not convinced with Franky. The moment I start feeling sorry for him, it would mean forgiving him for stealing 200 million berries-and that’s something I just can’t accept!

Remember the hatred the people of skypeia and the shandians had for each other? The long wars? And in Alabasta crocodile was trying to take over an entire nation through deceit and force? Topics like racism, oppression, class war and dictatorships are exactly what One Piece is all about but that takes a while to become clear. Also yes i agree with you that it's hard to call Franky a good guy right now. What he did is still horrible and he will need to make up for it. Im sure you will like him more after Water 7/Enies Lobby are over

Yeah, that’s kind of surprising to me because Tom is a Fishman, and he hit Spandam in the face, so I thought that might have been it. But then Franky also hit him with that weapon. A CP5 member shouldn’t be that weak, right?

Usopp is a smart guy! I think he quickly put the facts about the ship together and assessed the situation accurately. The problem, in my opinion, is that he wasn’t there for the conversation between Luffy and Iceburg-when Iceburg criticized Luffy for being a bad captain in regard to the ship.

He is scared they'll leave him next. He loves the crew and wants to be with them but he is being stubborn out of fear

That’s true! After watching the Long Ring Long Land arc, I expected this arc to be more emotional than action-packed-that the strongest opponent would be Franky and that the main focus would be on the Straw Hats' bonds. The previous arc with Foxy already highlighted how important those bonds are for the crew. I have to say, I like CP9 as villains way more than Franky-they feel much more refined, if I can put it that way. Plus, even if they manage to rescue Iceburg and bring Robin back, there’s no guarantee that the crew will stay together… We’re already quite deep into this arc, and I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen next!

Good point about Zeff, and I do appreciate your concern. However, I'd like to argue a little here. You mentioned that Buggy might win against Zeff, but in my opinion, that’s unlikely. Zeff is Sanji’s master, and even with one leg, his reputation as the legendary 'Red-Leg Zeff' and his survival of the Grand Line prove just how skilled and powerful he was. Sanji learned his fighting style directly from Zeff, and at that point in the story-even up until the Water 7 Saga-Sanji hadn’t surpassed the man who taught him everything he knows. Zeff’s experience and mastery give him an advantage not just over Sanji but possibly even over Zoro and Luffy at that time. It’s also worth noting that Zeff trained Sanji after losing his leg, so even then, he wasn’t far weaker. He’s not necessarily twice as strong as Sanji, but the fact that he could kick Sanji around during training shows he’s still a level above. Of course, this is just my opinion, not a fact. But based on what we’ve seen, I feel his minimum strength should match Sanji’s, with a maximum of around twice Sanji’s level-somewhere in the range of 510-1020, with an average of about 765. Even as an older man, Zeff is still fast enough to stop bullets, like when he blocked Pearl’s attack. That kind of speed and strength shouldn’t be underestimated! And I do think Zoro's master (dojo) would be similar, Zoro does not surpass his master

@GiraffeReactionsZone you make some good points about the training for sure. However Zeff did choose to retire after the loss of his leg and openly stated that he can't fight anymore. He probably takes care of your average fodder without issue but he was taken down by Gin. Someone current Sanji simply wouldn't lose to. I do agree that Zeff in his prime must have been very strong and zeff with one leg is still a dangerous man but i genuinely think that if sanji, zoro or luffy had challenged Zeff in Baratie they would have won. Sadly there is simply no real way to prove either side of this discussion so all we can do is speculate. About Zoro's master we have even less evidence of his actual strength. Keep in mind that even his advice on rhythm was him telling zoro there are some swordsmen in the world who are able to cut nothing. He didn't showcase his own ability to do so. I think current zoro is absolutely stronger than his master though by how much remains to be seen. Zoro's master also doesn't have a reputation like Zeff does and to train someone you don't have to be stronger than that person, just more skilled. I think that's the case for Zoro's master. He taught Zoro about proper technique and swordsmanship and Zoro also did his own training outside of that as we have seen in flashbacks because he wanted to get stronger. I will add that these discussions will probably drastically change before the end of Water 7/Enies Lobby. You're about to get some really cool power scaling material!

​@@DorianTheReaper That’s so true. The strength I gave him puts him at a similar level to those three. Of course, anyone could win-it would come down to who is more determined to win the fight. Since Zeff is retired, we can assume he wouldn’t have the same desire to defeat any of them. Still, I’m going to rank him slightly higher than Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy, simply out of respect for the fact that he trained Sanji, like a true master.

In comparison to previous villains, yeah, CP9 definitely feels darker. Enel and Crocodile were like evil gods, while other pirate captains had a lot of flaws. Smoker is a good villain too (if he even counts as a villain). But CP9? They’re way more intelligent and calculated. They even work as a group, likely in case they can’t handle a threat alone. They definitely give off strong assassin vibes. So far, their design is really clever and well thought out, don’t you think?

@@GiraffeReactionsZone i would say smoker is an antagonist rather than a villain. The difference is that an antagonist fights the hero but not necessarily because of bad intentions while a villain is evil. Smoker is definitely the enemy but he seems to be a good guy and just wants to do his job

I see, but I’m not entirely sure what exactly it does yet. I can guess that Iron Body is about hardening or strengthening the body, but maybe there’s more to it? I’ll find out soon! :) Also, the way they pierced through Paulie’s body or attacked Luffy with just their fingers looks like it might involve hardening too. Could those techniques be connected? I need to see more to figure it out!

It's about time the world government started to be more present in the story cuz so far we have only fought pirates, smoker and captain morgan. @@GiraffeReactionsZone the marines are just the military force of the world government. Cp-9 works for the government and will often work with the marines. I guess the best comparison is the marines being the army and cp-9 being the CIA. CP stands for Cipher Police or CipherPol (its always said as CipherPol) and it itself has 9 different layers. Cp1, cp2, cp3 etc. cp9 is the most dangerous and famous one

They operated undercover as shipwrights, aiming to obtain the blueprints while eliminating anyone who became aware of their mission. Many believe they are connected to the government, and they themselves claim their actions represent justice. In my opinion, CP9 is a morally ambiguous group, likely hired by the government. They employ extreme measures and have no hesitation about killing, making them comparable to assassins and spies. It seems plausible that the government desires these blueprints and is attempting to keep their actions hidden, which is why CP9 was brought in. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if CP9 realizes the true value of the blueprints and ultimately betrays the government to pursue their own agenda.

@GiraffeReactionsZone i love that this arc makes her and Usopp so important cuz they have been a bit underutilized so far but they are some of my favorite characters and this arc you will see why. Well i mean this arc and the next one called Enies Lobby. Water 7 and Enies Lobby are counted as 2 separate arcs because they are 2 different islands but in terms of story they form one continuous narrative so you could argue that it is really one arc. If you want some good power scaling fights just wait for Enies Lobby. It will be awesome

Ha! That's the question! Clearly, there will be a clash between Luffy and Franky (the boss who took the money), as Luffy even stated that he's waiting for him. I’m still not sure what's going on with Robin-she doesn't know anything that happened, so I believe she’ll play a crucial role in getting Usopp back. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense that she still doesn’t know. I see the Straw Hats being broken when they leave the island, having spent all their money, and I believe that since Luffy has already made the decision, we’ll see a new ship. Apparently, for 100 million, they can get a bigger one! You guys keep teasing me about the power-ups in this saga, but I honestly have no idea (except for Nami & Zoro) how they can grow. This arc is very emotional and focuses on the Straw Hats as they seem to be the biggest threats to themselves. So, I’m not expecting any strong villains, maybe just Franky and the Marines-plus, we have Aokiji here for some reason... I’d love to see the Straw Hats' names become more recognizable in this arc. After Skypiea, where no one knew them, this feels like the time to face the Marines and crush them, showing how frustrated they are after losing Usopp. What do you think? Am I close? 👀

Zoro's loyalty to Luffy is undeniable. He would follow Luffy’s orders, but only as long as it aligns with his own sense of honor and their shared goals. If Luffy ever asked him to abandon his dream, Zoro wouldn’t hesitate to leave the crew. His loyalty is strong, but personally, I don't believe any of the Straw Hats would actually kill another. If there was ever a moment to do so, the situation with Usopp and Franky family would have been the one. As for whether any of them were killed, it’s unclear. But if they weren’t, it shows that Zoro, or any Straw Hat, wouldn’t kill anyone, even if Luffy told them to.

I agree zoro is the most loyal but he is that loyal because he trusts luffy not to give him orders that he can't follow. He won't kill another straw hat for luffy because he cares about them. He just knows Luffy would never order him to do any bad stuff like that

If the reason was valid he would definitely do so, I am not telling that he would kill one for no reason

Now, about Vice Admiral Garp: I’ve only justified his minimum possible strength based on what’s been shown in the anime so far. This minimum can be increased as we learn more, but it can’t be lowered. I haven’t yet been able to define his maximum strength, which is why there’s a "+" at the end of his number. Regarding his comparison to Zoro, I agree with you! I’ve currently set Zoro’s minimum strength at 332, while Garp’s is at 400. This indicates that Garp’s potential is indeed higher than Zoro’s-I just don’t know by how much yet. As for training Coby, he’s the first character I used to gauge levels. I started with Coby as the baseline, assigning him a strength level of 1. From there, I judge how much stronger other characters are in comparison-at least in the beginning stages. Yeah, things are looking really bad right now. Usopp cares about this ship the most, and he lost the money to fix it. Plus, he’s in really bad shape-beaten up and still fighting! On top of that, he still doesn’t know about the ship’s condition, which could be really traumatic for him. I just hope he doesn’t give up…

That's an intriguing observation! I must admit I didn’t notice that at first. When doing reactions, it’s sometimes hard to catch all the details. I’ll take your word for it-she did refer to Luffy as 'captain' in this video. This might mean she’s intentionally distancing herself from the crew, or perhaps it’s simply because she’s still new and hasn’t built a strong bond with them yet. Aokiji’s statement is quite tricky. It could refer to Nico Robin’s dangerous history. She was once a partner and pirate under Crocodile, a major player, so it’s possible that other dangerous and notorious figures could come after her-and by extension, Luffy and the crew. Additionally, the interest of an admiral-one of the three strongest members of the Marines-is really concerning. At this point, Luffy is just a small fish compared to them. It's hard 👀
