I legit bawled at the fact our character had essentially died after the tower was restored, i was a sobbing and drivelling mess i tells ya! Such a wonderful game!

I managed to get the triumgovate on my first try. But it was honestly through sheer blind luck, as I was running an ass comp. (Minstrel, mage, priest, warrior, with no idea how any strats or items worked, I was 9). It took me 5 times to get Corvus. Would kill to do the Purrvis fight again, he was the best of the three.

DQIX was the first game I ever picked up as a 9 year old girl. Whilst my friends were playing Nintendogs, I was off battling in Coffinwell (it took me ages to get past Ragin’ Contagion I swear). It will always have a special place in my heart. To see it still being played makes me unbelievably happy. Mega congratulations on completing the whole game! Also love the “come at me you bastard!” Peak Britain.

ya know, I really like this playthrough, but the one thing that really bugs me is that you almost can't hear what you're saying because the music is just so damn loud

the "ultimate treasure" isn't all that good, cause you can access it right after Coffinwell. It's on the lowest floor, you have to go through a hidden door beneath the stairs to Apus Major. It's immediately north of the portal to the protectorate

are there anyone play DQ8 3ds on PC with PC keyboard? I'm struggling with keyboard control. the arrow key for movement but can't use to move command menu. which buttons I should set which make my life easier?

seeing 900hp on a character is crazy with you hitting over 200 hp, i just started a new game on an emulator cause i played this when i was younger. back then i barely hit for 70 to 99 per attack on a crit if i got lucky. growing up makes understanding this game an entirely different level as now i actually care about buying stat boost items for my party and am not focused saving up my gold for the strongest sword. though im stuck on a quest 002, it wants me to use 4 emotes in a row which i recall you could press a button to do on the nintendo DS but for the emulator i am at a loss. ive tried changing the order of them and still doing them sequentially but still no change.

Correction on the segments: Estark is a midway boss in DQ4. Well okay, further than midway, but if you considered Baramos to be midway in DW3, Estark is at around the same spot storyline wise. The post-game boss in DQ4 is Aamon / Astaroth. Also, Nokturnus doesn't use the final boss fight music in DQ6, but rather the normal boss fight music. However, if you took your cues from DQ9 and its post-game content, which I believe you may have done, I can understand the confusion.

Just tried Melon for the first time and so far Dragon Quest 9 looks and plays amazingly. Been wanting to play this game forever but it constantly crashed on my 3DS when using my old R4 3Ds (DS rom cartridge) so I had about given up.

Hi, its true that beating all the DQTV Quests gives you 4 extra slots to make characters? I cant find it anywhere

After playing it a dozen of times I still tear up, but seeing a "reaction" to it broke me again 😭

Quite late to the party here, but it's a good idea to use a double bubble in memories lane, so that your whole party levels after every fight and you don't have to go and heal.

Man i love this game, but i think playing the 3ds version on pc sucks ass because of the need of the second screen. I would love a dedicated PC port with new extras for this game haha, but this will never become true

Ahhh Dragon Quest 9 was my childhood. I completed the main story, but didn't finish all the grottos.

This game was the first game that ever made me just…cry, little kid playing this and I just put it down and sobbed still cry to this day

Hello, i have a 1000 hours on dq 9 with max gear, that son of bitch aint easy (no shit) but you need the sponge shields (the best shields series untill you upgrade it to max), at least the serie of best armor, pure falcon blade, max gladiator armagician and priest with the main caracter could be warrior mage, be sure to have all the spécial skills up for all the 11 classes. Also putting ur ally in auto mode to focus on heal do your own thing for the armagician (he gives the correct force in the weak élément when he does it), also make sure to make him use the max bow! Like that you can spam Nok easily

if i remember correctly this games loot system was based on the numbers of heals to your characters. so before battle you would save and quit, then re load and heal like 37 times and then kill the boss and get your guaranteed drop. awesome game
