While I think you may be right about the spiritual aspects of the new creation in Revelation 21, I do believe that the new heaven, new earth, and the wiping away of tears, etc, WILL also be a part of the new creation as well. (I mention this because there's a view out there called full preterism that tries to spiritualize the final judgement, new heaven, and new earth as also happening in 70 AD and I'm hoping that that's not what you are getting at and that you are a partial preterist. I sounds like you are a partial preterist, as you don't deny the final judgment, the resurrection, or the new haven and new earth, but what you're saying there about the new heaven and new earth being spiritual in some sense can be a bit confusing.) I'd held the view, for a while now, that the "first resurrection" was a spiritual resurrection. In fact, even before being told by a teacher that one, the Holy Spirit was able to bring to mind verses, including the part in Genesis 2 where God told Adam and Eve that they'd die (spiritually, not physically) if they ate of the forbidden fruit.) However, this view that you've taught that some of that stuff about the new heaven and new earth, as well as the Isaiah stuff, being spiritual rather than literal, was something I'd just encountered today for the first time. Again, not saying you're wrong, but it's the very first I'd heard of it.

I'm a bit confused on the dragon and what happens to him. The dragon, AKA Satan, would be the MOST evil character, worse than the Beast from the Sea or the Harlot of Babylon. It states somewhere in Revelation 13 that the Beast from the Sea and his false prophet (or at least one of them) would cause the people to worship the Dragon. Did Nero or the false Judaizers openly promote Satan worship and require it? Also, if Satan is bound for 1000 years, how come there is still clear demon possession throughout the world? And if he is merely restrained, how come it mentions a bottomless pit, or abyss, much like the kind that the demons of the Abbadon/Appolyon chapter were in and which the demons that Jesus cast out of the man in the tombs were afraid of being sent to? I do support the general overall view (though I'm a-mil-, not post-mil), but am curious about these matters, trying to understand them better.

This is very interesting and I agree very much because this was my personal understanding of it as well, up until his interpretation of Revelation 21 and Isaiah 65. I simply CANNOT see it as anything other than an actual new universe, new creation, physical, concrete... A new form of living. I cannot. If this is figurative, metaphoric, whatever, then nothing means anything. Why repeatedly say no more death, no more sadness, no more grief, no more injustice, no more, no more, when we still suffer so much death, disease, decay, violence, whether we are Christian or not, how is THIS a new creation ? If Christians could heal everyone, stop all violence, protect every people, yeah ok maybe that would be a form of new creation, but it's far from being the case. Is this simply a lie ? Were these verses like "feel good lies" to lift people up and keep them hopeful ? Spiritual reality and metaphor is one thing, when we die maybe we'll feel better than we felt on this earth I don't know, but this is far from comforting. Especially if this means this goes on and on and on. He says he does believe in an actual end of history, but based on what verses then ? I wish he had talked about it because this would have made things clearer.

I'm a-mil, not post-mil, but I agree with you on 99% of things. Also, I think that the promise of the land was fulfilled in the reigns of David and Solomon. The reason it wasn't fulfilled in Joshua was because it specifically says in the book of Judges that God DELIBERATELY left some of the enemies there to test the people. These people sometimes were beaten back and sometimes they actually took over the land during the books of Judges and 1st Samuel. However, they were driven out (yeah, a few bad guys here and there remained in the (controlled) land, but a lot were defeated) during the reigns of David and stayed that way during the reign of Solomon. That all ended, of course, when the kingdom was split under the reign of Rehoboam. Still, we can both agree that the land promise was fulfilled in the past.

there are several points that undermine this interpretation: - he says επισυναγωγη is used in 2thess2 and hebrews. but the verbal base is used by the Lord at the end of matt24, when he will send his angels to gather his elect from the 4 corners of the world, which refers to the eschatological promise of the regathering of israel. - he says the 'now you know' means the thessalonians knew the context. but, for a start, the traduction is faulty. the greek says 'now the thing which withholds you know, towards the revealing of him in his season'. so, paul is not talking about something withholding the revealing of the man of sin, but that the thessalonians now know what's withholding the parousia and the episynagoge, namely the apostasy and the revealing of the man of sin. - he says the man of sin didn't need to enter the temple because the grammatical pattern in 2thess2.4 and luke4.29 are similar. but they are not. luke uses the prep εις which means 'with the objective of'. paul uses the avd ωστε which means 'with the result of'.

The material presented is somewhat interesting but not necessarily important and so my two cents regarding "New Jerusalem". There is some scripture passages referring to the 'renewing' of the heavens and the earth and one such passage begins at Rev. 21:1 and is immediately followed by the vision John has of "... the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,...". To accept this as literal is very consoling in that it gives a 'definitive' sense to not only being with and where Jesus is but also indicates a firm fixed place rather than some 'nebulous' environment and makes for greater anticipation to not only see but occupy the mansions as per John 14:2. Now that we realize the enormity of the universe and our limited ability to thoroughly investigate the expanse, it is reasonable to accept the likelihood that " new Jerusalem " exists at this time and is also partially occupied but possibly with a great many vacancies waiting to be filled.

To add to this, the abomination of desolation seems to be both a person and a thing. It is extremely likely that a statute of Nero was placed in the temple and the Jews were forced to worship it or die. For Nero was said to have come back to life … so in a way, he did make it to the temple

You show here that you don’t fully understand God’s one objective. You need to go back to the drawing board! Since the Temple was destroyed and now 2000 years has not been rebuilt then, God achieved his one objective…… All nations since the obliteration of the Temple are invited to enter the New Jerusalem. "Man of Lawlessness" is a misleading ohrase. It should ne "Man of Torahlessness". The speaker is Paul, a trained Pharisee, a Jew, an observer of the Scripture. The Messiah and all his earliest followers know that the Law is Torah! The earliest followers were NOT Christians. They were the Way or the Natsarim Sect of 1st Century Judaism. Christianity is the Powerful Delusion. It is the apostate church in contrast to the Natsarim Sect.

A few errors: - The Thessalonians didn't know who the man of lawlessness was - they knew who was restraining (preventing) his appearance - the Roman Emperor had to give way to the Holy Roman Emperor, the occupant of the Papacy. - The Book of Revelation was given to the churches in Old Testament symbolism. What is the Temple gathering in the New Covenant - the Christian church. The man of sin will stand in a Christian church and declare himself God. It's a no brainer since the 5th century who he is. He won't be revealed to the world and destroyed until the Second (and only) return of Jesus Christ, so he's still standing in that church today calling himself the blasphemous “Infallible Word God”. - That man will appear AFTER a great falling away from the faith. When did the churches fall away before 70 AD? Contraire, they were adding great numbers everyday and dying for the faith. It happened beginning in the 2nd century with the rise of the early suggestions of a Trinity Godhead, adding another spirit person to rival the only Holy Spirit, the Father, and culminated in the organization of the church/state of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The Apostasy Paul spoke of is her idol worship of Babylonian, Egyptian gods, and the renaming of pagan Roman gods as Jesus, Mary Joseph, Apostles, and Saints to deceive the masses. (Today, almost every Protestant denomination has signed peace agreements with Rome that the protest against her has ended. Thus, the Apostasy is complete). Christ will return anytime. - Full Preterism is the Gospel of the Jesuits (as well as Futurism), you might want to repent of teaching it).

"1000 years is a qualitative representation.... that must be a very long period of time" LOL. 1000 means fulness. it doesnt measure time, length or quantity. it represents completion to perfection 10X10X10. sheep on 1000 hills = full number of sheep 1 day is 1000 years = fullness of time 1000 year reign = fullness of the reign the idea that 1000 doesnt mean 1000, but MUST mean MORE than 1000 misses the entire point of the number 1000 as a symbol. case & point 1 day is not a greater period of time than a 1000 years, 1000 years is representative of 1 day in time for God.

Here's Gentry's own Confession of Faith (that he claims to hold to): Westminster Confession, Ch. 25, sec. 6, "There is no other Head of the Church but the Lord Jesus Christ: nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition, that exalteth himself in the Church against Christ, and all that is called God." Ken Gentry DENIES his own Confession of Faith because of his presupposition of Preterism. The authors of the Confession were right; Gentry is WRONG. *Soli Deo Gloria*

@19:09 a certain verse has been referenced and the question is posed "How shall we respond?" Then Mr. Gentry sips his water and begins his response by saying, "John is writing...[and so on and so forth]." Here is where Gentry is wrong, in my humble opinion. John IS indeed writing, but he's not writing his own thoughts or interpretations. John has been shown things in the spiritual realm. John is only sharing what the angel shared with him. John is to share the information with men, but the information is from an angel that is representing Jesus. And what was Jesus' first message when He began His ministry? Matthew 4 : 17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Isn't the kingdom of heaven "at hand" for every non believer for all time? So long as people are being born in the flesh, they are being born into sin. Everyone must be born again aka born of the Spirit/born from above. It's been 5998 years since Adam. What does "at hand really mean? How near is "near"? Man was made on the 6th day.

So gathering together to Him of 2 Thess 2, which Paul referred to in that passage as "that Day," that all Christians have been waiting for--their final redemption of their bodies (getting their resurrection bodies), is really just Christians no longer being a sect of Judaism and they can gather as one body separate from Judaism. Wow. What mental gymnastics one has to do to arrive at that. And how anticlimactic. What we thought was something so glorious is just meeting separate from Judaism because the Temple was destroyed. And as if they weren't already meeting together as a separate body.

I agree. Preterism is a defiance of reality and of God. Their "god" is satan. The whole of world history pivots on the crushing of the head of satan and his children, who have stolen the birthright, the issue of which only God can settle and He will at the end of time. That we are still residing in the realm of time is "proof" that we are not living in the Kingdom of God, which is a gross rejection of reality.

I respectfully disagree with several aspects of this argument. Primarily, there seems to be a tendency to force facts to fit specific interpretations. For instance, there is no linguistic evidence to support the notion that the name "Claudius" inherently means "the restrainer" in Latin; its literal meaning is "lame." Furthermore, if Nero is being identified as the "man of lawlessness" in 2 Thessalonians 2:9, the passage describes characteristics that include performing miracles and signs. Historical records do not attribute such supernatural acts to Nero. Moreover, while Nero did persecute Christians, he did not exclusively target Jews who opposed the Gospel. Lastly, regarding the events of 70 AD, it was indeed Vespasian who commanded the Roman forces during the siege of Jerusalem, not Nero.

Very good. Preterism is just one flavor of heresy that appeals to many, I have no idea why as it defies reality. The real issue is about the birthright, which was stolen and the one who stole it is still waiting for his "moshiach" along with legions of other luciferians who are waiting for the manifestation of "the world teacher", the "maitreya", the "buddah", the "avatar" etc. This is ecumenism and the whole world will follow after the beast. This ought to be how to misunderstand the Book of Revelation. Post mill interpreters are so clever and deceptive. What a surprise it will be when Jesus finds them asleep and unprepared at his second coming in glory and power. Jesus words are clear as a loud bell on eschatological matters.

The assumption of an early date for revelation which underlies the speakers view is disputed as the state of the seven churches shows a decline from Pauls epistles, as at Ephesus their love has grown cold, such a decline requires decades to eventuate. Martyrdom, new converts, and false teaching would all contribute to change, which I believe is the theme of this passage-false teachers.

Read Gentry's book, _Before Jerusalem Fell._ It's his Ph.D thesis, I believe, and is devoted entirely to why the early date for Revelation is very likely correct. It is thorough and convincing. I believe you can find the .PDF for free online.

When ever Paul writes of the temple he is referring to the Christian church, never to the edifice in Jerusalem. He always sees the tabernacle of the new covenant in heaven. He knows that God has left the old temple, and that it has no significance. When we read then of the man of sin presenting himself he is talking of false teachers in the assembly, even as John in describing the spirit of antichrist, coming out from among them. The son of perdition is Judas, that it is mentioned here shows we are dealing with a class of people, not a single entity. It cannot be a heathen, as Judas was an apostate from the covenant people. He is writing to Greeks who have no connection to the Levitical city, Christs command to flee has no meaning for them, as it does to the Hebrews, where the language is all of no certain dwelling place, no continuing city, in view of that imminent tribulation which befell them. John had no reason to leave Jerusalem until that time, after which he assumed Paul’s old circuit in Asia Minor, which Tertullian called John’s nurselings.

the man of sin is SATAN, who will manifest and proffer his mark. He will sacrifice a child to the golden calf in the public square and Messiah will return in Wrath, end the realm of time and Judge the quick and the dead and RESTORE all things.

Incredible teaching! Using both scripture (truth) and logic (reason) in a way that builds a path for clarity. Learned a tonne!

We have to let Scripture speak for itself and allow it to form our belief system, not the other way around.

Revelation 20:4, it's the resurrection of martyred souls, and not a bodily resurrection. These are those who refused to offer a sacrifice to the Roman Emperor as God, something that a true Christian could not do. These martyred souls are the ones reigning for one thousand years. When these souls end their thousand year reign, then Satan is released from the bottomless pit, in order to once again try to persuade the worldwide nations to persecute Christians again, like before, but Christ stops him before he can do any damage, and then institutes the judgment resulting in the beginning of eternity.

There it is at 22 minutes Changes the Revelation of Jesus Christ from Him coming on the cloud physically to a metaphor of Jesus' judgement coming...garbage. Coming on the clouds does mean judgement but it doesn't mean Jesus ISN'T on the clouds.

    • @mattl3023
      @mattl3023 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

It really is a metaphor. Otherwise, given that the world is round, Jesus on a cloud would only be seen by about 0.00000000000001% of the world's population. Where's the honour in that? See Isaiah 19 where it talks about the Lord riding on a swift cloud and coming to Egypt to bring judgement. Did the Egyptians actually see the Lord on this cloud? Surely not! And in Isaiah 10, the prophet talks about the Lord using Assyria, specifically the army, as 'the rod of my anger' (10:5). Are you going to imagine the Lord physically picking up the Assyrian soldiers on masse and hitting the nation of Israel with them? Seriously? Good luck with that. If you are serious, I hope Jesus can find a reliable cloud that doesn't break down and has a reasonable resale value after he no longer needs it anyone. Maybe you would be interested in purchasing it from Him as your new 'car'.😅

@jesuslovesyouforalleternit8064 It looks like it's the tabby against the chihuahua!😀 You did start that smug-ball rolling by referring to Dr. Gentry's assertions as 'garbage', did you not? That's certainly unkind as well as untrue. And seriously, imagining Jesus physically standing (or sitting) on an actual physical cloud and relying on it as his chosen method of transport - that's just too absurd and not at all the intention of Scripture's Author. Where does it end? Do you think that in order to have eternal life, that you need to drink Jesus's literal blood as per John 6:53? That's what his hearers imagined he was saying. Jesus would surely rebuke such literalism with the words, "Are you still so dull?!? Do you still not understand the function of a metaphor?" Listen to more of Ken Gentry's sermons and stop being so wooden in your study of the Bible. But at least let me say this - if you love Jesus, then I love you, too, my brother. I would be glad to know that Jesus loves you for all eternity. If not, we have no hope.
