This is Allied headquarters! This is the place for logistical problem solving. How to come back from the hits that we take in turn one and two. Operation Ricochet!
This is the place to fix and flavor the game so it stays fresh! It's a little imbalanced. Not as much as you might think. And who doesn't like variety.
I love history, particularly World War 2. I love to employ historically accurate tactics and strategies. I desperately want to help balance the game. I find it impossible to play a color by numbers game. I am not about scripts to be employed over and over.
I have play tested with Larry Harris many times.
I am a busy man, working long hours at UPS. I have 7 children and a wife I have loved for 29 years. I’m a deacon at church and love to study the Scriptures. I am trying to write a fictional book about Axis and Allies.

Neat
Yeah. Need a few more tweaks. But most fixes are common sense.
Excellent
I own one😊😊😊
Hey, I own the board game version of this.
Me too
Excellent
The fact that these didn't make it into later versions of the game makes me sad. It costs nothing but ink and a few hours of rules tweaking to make them work for modern versions. two extra sheets of paper for a rule book.
so true! Why not include optional rules? I have argued this to game designers frequently.
@13:52 I went in with 2 infantry and 2 armor
Played lots of games of this version!
Tom Gale of Nightingale games did a lot of digital work on the online version of revised. How balanced is it?
I didn't think it was balanced....especially if Germany just builds tanks @$5!
Excellent
Russians ships can leave the Baltic as long as peace with Germany exists.
For the Allies you have to factor in the need for transports and the need to protect those valuable ships....especially for the US who have to cross two oceans to get troops into the fight
good video. very informative .
Quick question, what is this program you are using for the board?
It’s called TRIPLE capital a. It could be found at triplea.org I think and you can play via TRIPLEA website or access and allies.org axis@allie.org currently traveling at 65 miles an hour through a winter Wonderland in Massachusetts on 21 December 2024

Where's US/China2?
Excellent
@10:48 that's insane too!
@10:31 that's insane!
Hmmm
I can’t say I’ve ever had a simple Germany game
As I explained in the video, the allies have to buy boats. At a certain point the game if successful, those purchases could be useless completely unnecessary to victory or for progress the German player has none of those challenges if he doesn’t want to, he can defend himself with planes and ground trips. Therefore, the variables are reduced for the German player.
@ like I said in the comment I’ve never had a simple Germany game, not to say one couldn’t happen but that’s been my experience.
im interested to know how you made the game, is this your own game program or are you using someone elses?

Search my channel. I have two or three tutorials
Search tripleA
Japanese DDs can carry 1 infantry also
Infantry, not marines. Is that what you mean?
Marines carried by BBs and Cruisers....only Japanese DDs can carry regular infantry
Yes only Japanese destroyers can carry 1 infantry
Yeah, I had some comments removed.
I think from a Christian prospective, both sides would be considered evil. Since the Soviet Union persecuted Christians, while Fascist Italy established great relations with the Church. The Jews always get punished in the bible from straying away from God, who is to say it dod not happen again.
Russia certainly was a bad guy that the good guys allied with. A great foil actually for the rest of the Allies because the other winners gave back to the losers their nations. Russia decided to keep their conquered territories. As to trying to guess the Lord's work of judgment, I must leave that to Him. Persecution and judgment can look the same, Jesus being the best example. I will say that a great deal of false teaching came out of Germany in the late 19 and early 20th century.
6:18 I dont know why but for some reason I was expecting. “I cant think of anything bad” Haha
Thanks Crockett. Fantastic vid. The spiritual battle is very real, and we are blessed to have God's Holy Spirit and the whole armour of God to help us stand firm
Welcome!!
TH-cam deleted my other comments....Hiroshima Nagasaki...that's all I'll say
What of them? The Japanese were still worse.
I said they deserved them!
Ahhh I see the Axis loving TH-camrs removed my comment
I believe the Japanese were worse than the Nazis!
Awesome video!
Thanks man!
Heads up, you have to declare war with ANZAC for the Sneaky Karl to work. p11 of the Pacific rulebook has the special transport loading rule for powers declaring war which gives an exception for hostile sea zones. If Japan declares war, transports can be loaded freely in hostile sea zones that the transports start in.
I’ll check that out.
To load units the sea zone must be friendly. A dow makes the destroyer an enemy that must be destroyed.
@@randyvandyke1 Declaring War If there are no restrictions currently keeping you from being at war with a power on the other side (see “The Political Situation,” page 8), you may declare war on that power. War must be declared on your turn at the beginning of the Combat Move phase, before any combat movements are made, unless otherwise specified in the political rules. An actual attack is not required. Once a state of war is entered into, all territories and sea zones controlled by or containing units belonging to the power or powers on which you declared war instantly become hostile to your units, and the normal restrictions of moving into or through hostile spaces apply, with one exception. During your Combat Move phase in which you entered into a state of war, your transports that are already in sea zones that have just become hostile may be loaded in those sea zones (but not in other hostile sea zones). In effect, transports may be loaded in their initial sea zones for amphibious assaults before war is declared, while the sea zone is still friendly. formatted to make the exception more clear
Are you reading 2nd edition? Can’t find that on page 8.
Found it. You’re reading first edition.
Axis and Allies 1914 needs a remake
agree. Do you like any house rules?
I have watched this part too (sorry my spelling). * I am crtizised to buy slow movers with Russia in round 6 and 7. fair enough, I think I need MEN and after all I have the North Africa money secured and I have time, no rush to over commit *In round 6 I place in defensive area to yunnan because I want the chinese NO of +6. dont get that if the japanese just walk in. Agreed, it slows down the pacific shore campaign. *I am about to give up after India, London and the sz54 fleet goes down. Well executed by gamerman01! And I am not patrionizing him, no way! I just did not fully understand the power of sz 54 after London and india....... * In OOB you need to think of Russian and China as one power. If Russia is strong support china. In this case China is strong and no need to support china early on. That is also a reason to by slow movers with Russia. You have time. * I think gamerman01 should have focused MUCH more on the north african russian money in round 6,7,8. I do a lot to protect it because it is so IMPORTANT to keep for Russia. Also the main objective is to avoid an Italian takeover of Egypt. gamerman01 should havve pressed harder for this after London went down * Then the Chahar placement in round 8 or 9. 9 i think. Where should I place it? Yunnan? Chahar is both a defensive placement but also a highly offensive placement. It is wait and see. After all I spreads out the thin Japanese forces all over china. JUST some thoughts
Sweet!! I appreciate your passion for the game, commitment, and response to our hours of video. When we put a little distance between us and round 10, maybe it will be safe for us (including you) to talk about those more recent rounds. Will be so great to have you join
Looking back quick at the North Africa situation, one can see I was definitely trying to do something about North Africa (carrier for 2 fighters, plus transports) but I couldn't quite figure out how to make a successful attack that would help me more than you! You defended it very strongly! It is so hard to get anything going against you, I need dice assists on big battles and I kept getting them, China, Z54 for example
Thanks for your response. Of course, I forgot what I said. Obviously, it is best to have all participants. Looking forward to talking to you.
oysteilo here. I have watched end of round 6. First of all you have many things right. Some comments from me: The battle in korea is awefull. But the engine does it wrongly and we agree I am compansated with 2 hits with my 8 defending two's that never fire, It is what it is. Then thre are two more battles in china that goes really poorly for the allies. It is the dice will, it is what it is. Then I mess up India, I do the same error when I move offline and for some reason I manage to do the same error over again.... Come on! When it comes to London it is slightly more complicated and I thing you underestimate the situation at USA 4. it is dire times for the allies in the med, there are a 1-2 punch with italy 4 and germany 5. I simply underestimate/dont take into consideration a G6 sea lion. I will try to watch 7-10 over the weekend. It would be nice if I can join in on the next session
Very good. Let's try for Sunday Night, Monday? What time zone?
Hanging on every word - cool!
The US already did 5 damage...disregard my rolls
@17:15 I don't see a DD in 92
Excellent
Excellent
Excellent
Nice move up there in Finland....I thought you would go for Leningrad
Moved Russian mech to Egypt.
Maybe next time, the person with the camera should be facing the board in the right way...not upside down :D
@23:29...the Brit DD in 96 isn't there
The concept AndrewAAgamer is referencing in regards to the Japanese fleet vs the Uk fleet in India is the idea of a fleet in being. A fleet in being is a fleet that can influence a much larger area by staying in port than if it were to leave and go to sea. A good example of how not to do this is when the Germans moved the Bismarck and Sharnhorst out of Norway were they were a fleet in being that forced the British to leave ships nearby just in case. Once these ships left port all the British had to do was send a squadron of ships after them and destroy them. A tactical error by the Germans.
Thank you. Glad to know the nomenclature. I refer to this concept in the water and on land as pinning. Falling back in order to leave a region like western China or eastern Russia unresolved is a powerful way to overwhelm the Axis. Their central location can turn into a strategic liability. Thanks again.
I think most good players are conservative players. The more experience you have the more you realize how many unnecessary risks there are in the game, and that its better to avoid them.
I play an immersive game. As if this game were the only game. Thus courage is a virture practiced in my games. However, most of the time I'm calling something courageous that is actually impulsive, a feel good, revenge stroke. Long term thinking results in the best revenge. Thanks again.
@@randyvandyke1 Yeah but I've seen some really savvy players that are aware of this impulse in opponents and use it to bait people into bad attacks. It can work.
True
you are inspiring me on my own Napoleonic era epic strategic boardgame
Awesome! Make the cavalry do great things!
Mistakenly uploaded video from last week
heh heh good action crockett. Glad you been getting some gaming in :)
Thank you sir. appreciate the interaction.
That free unit/installation is huge. Smaller nation getting more than a full turns extra production (i ASSUME) it is production not on map start of game? Italy, Anzac, Far East Command...
Sorry to say, the smaller nations don't get a free unit. The big ones get an extra in their production. We also are enabling the Allies to grab the French territories. Plus tech. Anniversary style token system.
I edited out the German sub by mistake. So 110 has 1 German 1 sub, zero British units.
Excellent
