Hot Bulb Simulator from @Enginediy powering small Z scale train layout.
มุมมอง 1.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I liked the idea of the engine powering the small train so much that I built a small layout for it. Now on to different projects. Thanks for watching!

Made a modular pulley system with a DC motor for a generator. The CV joint output is just for looks until a suitable water pump or other accessory can be sourced. I'll show the voltage output in the next video. Thanks for watching.
Hot bulb engine simulator: Evolution of a pulley drive system. Part 2

Slowly making changes with progress. mock-up board to see how it all lays out. Increased the size of the main pulley to increase the speed downstream. Made some brass drum pulleys for a better look.

Work in progress for an implement drive system. Some old RC parts, a donated 1/2" socket, cut in half and used for drum pulleys. O rings were needed for more grip. The gizmo clamped to the board is just an example of what it can turn.
SAM M19 hit and miss engine from @enginediy

Pretty much out of the box. I added the O rings where the rope starter goes to make it easy to hand start. The top pivot pin was replaced with an allen bolt and nut, then tightened to remove the play. Engine seems to run smoother with breather cap removed. Very nice engine and would recommend.

M17B from Enginediy. Takes a little patience to adjust the carb. This one had a rough surface on the cylinder, which leaked water. I resurfaced it with some 400 grit sandpaper and it sealed right up.
M17 hit and miss with 5v dynamo and flickering LED
มุมมอง 1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
I made a stainless steel bracket to mount a 5v dynamo with a flickering LED. The LED runs it's own light show, and the engine still retains a miss cycle. Now the engine has a purpose. 😄 Thanks to all who have viewed and shared these videos.
M17 with governor adjusted
มุมมอง 1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
removed the double springs and replaced with softer single spring and added weights to keep the governor activated longer. Ideally, a softer pair of springs and no added weight would look nicer.
M17 out of box performance.

Retrol antique hot bulb 4-stroke simulation. A little dress up for the display. 4mm brass fuel tubing. wooden box to conceal CDI and wiring. A bit of wire loom Replace copper exhaust fittings with straight pipe. Brass cylinder oiler from www.deboltmachine.com 10/32 thread for oiler. Nice little engine.

Love those wagon wheels on the HM-01!!❤👍
Running nice.
Great Fun! Busch of Germany makes HO Scale models of Industrial Railroad Equipment that operates on Z Gauge track... and one of the Locomotives is based on the LKM NS2f... Funny thing is that if you search on TH-cam for "Feldbahn LKM NS2f" you should be able to see Videos of them running at museums in Germany... ... and they sound alot like your setup! So, while you might not have onboard sounds from your locomotive, you DO have an Actual Diesel Powered Z Gauge Model Train... And THAT'S just Way Too Cool! Thanks for Sharing!
nice dog
Thank you for the video
Great job looks good
Looks great.
I ran a wire wheel with a et1
Very nice
Awesome!
I should have watched pt2 before commenting on pt1. Good results i would call that a success.
That drive linkage has worked out well. Have you tried a buck boost dc/dc converter on the output for higher voltage unfortunately it reduces the amperage but if you are getting a reasonable amperage to start with they are great for running lights and charging ect. Lovely engine and setup.
awesome
Check to make sure the governor balls aren't hitting the cylinder. That is a very common issue with these and easily corrected.
Very neat.
nice
Very nice. I am wondering how much work can this engine do?
Very nice I haven't seen this in a kit ready to run. Did you build it? When you get done with it will it be something that somebody could buy pear as I have no machine skills at all. Thank you for reading my post
Very nice setup. Beautiful engine
Fantastic engine, Sounds great.
interesting
Beautiful engine
thanks
That's really nice, you got that running lovely, the ball governor is a lovely feature !
❤❤❤
That is above and beyond proper! Beautiful!
❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍
❤❤❤
EXCELLENT JOB Mr Mosquitos!! Thanks for the oiler source tip too
🥵🥵🥵the noises🥵🥵🥵
why the f'n stupid emojis ?
Lovely! What is the blue engine?
Hello, I have recently built this same engine, but have had trouble with the hall sensor ignition. I see that yours looks different design, did you have trouble with the original? I'm planning on making a points system for mina and getting shot of the unreliable sensor. Ade
Nice to see it chugging along though, hopefully mine will work propperly one day :)
What is the efficiency of this machine?
awesome thanks
Very nice engine, tempted to get one.. would be interesting to see driving some accesories eg. water pump or some machinery
Beautiful Bike !! I just came across your channel in my feed actually and I'm happy to support your efforts and those of other fellow moto content creators. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from you in the future, keep up the great work and ride safe out there.
Awesome Scout. Do you have a link to a build thread? Just picked up a 79 and am putting a 79 350 in with the computer and transmission from my 02 Blazer.
A-TRAC?!
