Since this is a divided road with two lanes traveling in each direction, separated by a median... how exactly are the cyclists forcing passing traffic into oncoming traffic? Do you even know the difference between white lines in the middle of a road and yellow lines?

What sidewalk? Even if there was a sidewalk here, do you want bicycles traveling on it at nearly 20mph with your kids and dogs?

I use my bike to go to work so it's a tool not a toy. The sidewalk is unsafe for riding since I average 20 mph on my commute. I don't think that would be a good idea for the pedestrians, especially since the sidewalk is usually only 5 feet wide. Not very much room to pass when I'm going 40 mph

You said a mouthful Brother. I am a commuter bike rider here in Wyoming. I ride a bike because I cannot drive. I've ridden more miles then I care to think about and Like you said. When in traffic, ride single file. Or pick a route that does not have that much traffic, and has shoulders. I hope the driver of the SUV is put in jail for a long time, and looses his license. I have always had rear view mirrors on my bike, and now I have a rear view camera and monitor system on my bike.

This. It would never be acceptable for sombody to travel 20 in a 45 for long stretches of road. If you can not keep up with the flow of traffic, and or you can ride in a location that doesn't places commuters at risk, you don't belong on a high traffic area. There's a reason scooters are prohibited from the highway.

​@Daywalker_27 Depends where you are. We have dedicated bike paths along some roads in our suburban town. Some cyclists still use the road. Nothing illegal about that, just dangerous with the increasing traffic, bad drivers, and some cyclists don't obey traffic laws. Bad combination all around.

@@jth877 61 year old Rob Jenner was recently killed here on his way to work by a 19 year old hit & run driver, the story has got a lot of publicity here. Pedestrians don’t want us on the sidewalks (rear wheel of 16” in diameter or larger are not allowed on sidewalks), motorists don’t wanna share the streets and the city has little interest in setting up bike lanes. As a cyclist what exactly we suppose to do?

That's not true. It's only illegal on 1 lane roads when the road is under a certain width.

The fuel tax does not even come close to paying the full cost of roads. Even if it did, your fuel is heavily subsidized by the government to begin with

Thank you for the updates. This is my worst nightmare as a cyclist. I can do everything that I can do to be safe, but there isn’t much I can do about situations like this, violent drivers.

If you look to the right, you will see the highway. This was an access road running parallel to the highway.

@@Hrothgrar oh ok ..really sucks for them but I hate these cyclist I live by the river and these nerds zoom up and down my street all day a few years back a cyclist was driving like 30 mph on the river walking trail and he crashed into a 14 year old girl and he fled the scene him and 4 other cyclist eventually one of the guys snitch and the little girl was paralyzed eventually within 3 months she died because of complications the dude that hit her was a CFO of a big ISO he was very rich got his job because his father was also very high profiled man ..anyways the dude o lying got probation no jail time and settled on a civil suit . 2 years later that same guy struck a car while drunk 1 person in the car died 2 others had serious injuries..guess how much time he got for that 19 months in a country club prison in Montana ...so charma finally struck the man the first girl who died her uncle was in prison with him and was a Aryan shot caller anyways .This made made it out of prison alive but they cut off his man good and set him on fire now he has to get taken care of all day can't even use the bathroom
