Amazing looking bike. I've seen a few people use it with a triple crown, and it sounds like the linkage is up to the task. Wish it had a mullet option but that's personal preference for me.

Wow!
Yeah, i need that
What size did you get
@@Ashton_Shields_POV I went for a M
@@lewiscb9235 how tall are you?
@@Ashton_Shields_POV 5.9/5.10 norco recommends a L but they are big bikes

Perfect
Bet that cost as much as a 2 stroke haha looks fire 🔥
@@levro7367 yeah unfortunately bikes ain’t cheap no more 🤣 but then again a new top spec 2 stroke wouldn’t be cheap either 😆
Nice bike dude
Same set as iv just ordered with e-bike spec pro5 hubs. Running Mavic at the minute and they cry at any sort of abuse.
You’ll love these they are bomb proof!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
clean
Mavic?
Is it louder than the Rapid Drive Hub 108T?
Where did you buy them?
Company in uk built them called handsonwheels
Nice! I just ordered the same combo in silver!
Good choice pal it’s the perfect wheel set 🔥
Finally, a cure for my insomnia.
Nice bike
Thanks 😊
Geiles bike 🤘🏻
Nice Bike the beauty🤙
For the x fusion rear shock what did you run your psi on ?
What about those bottom bracket open cables? Could they cause you any issue?
Good stuff bro, its a great bike! I have a Genius 960 2019 and I've done lots of upgrades too. check it out the last video on my channel.
Will do 👍🏻 it was a cracking bike but since got a pivot firebird but can’t ride as I’m injured 🤦♂️😂
could you please give me a link to the head set upgrade or dimensions I'm having same problem with the creaking
I love that color! Looking at a 2021 960 and I wish it was this orange.
It was a brilliant colour definitely nicer than the newer 960. I do miss this bike 😩
How did you change your grips? Is the dropper/shock/fork trigger and paddles not attached to it? Does Scott sell some adapter to mount it to the bars directly instead of the grip?
It’s not attached as such but yes Scott send a little shim it’s pretty simple so yeah you can change the grips :)
I’ve got a 950 and I’m looking to upgrade the brakes! Where did you get yours from?
I got the magura from my local bike store who are a magura dealer :)
my bike also, I'v ridden it hardis just done about 2000kms, the head stem often creaked and I regularly had to tighten it with out much success,, the front chain guide thing needs to be pivoted up mid ride if you wish to use the slowest gear with out it rubbing, the basic brakes are fine the rotors are a bit small and can over heat on some of the not so long road descents I sometimes ride down, have broken about 7 spokes on rear wheel, lower 20nm pivot screw needs to be regularly re torqued, the derailleur will derail the chain if you pedal backward in most of the slow gears. So after 2000kms/ one year the shocks became almost useless(had never had them serviced, tried to fix by changing air and setting), I have just replaced the shocks with fox 36 Fit 4 ~$2400 from "Cyclinic MTB suspension specialists" and replaced the head stem with a can creek 40 series, the cassettes teeth/spline that grab on the free hub almost buggered, so replace it Sunrace ~$130, the rear derailleur started giving trouble, I replaced it with a Sram NX ~$179 , later notice that the derailleur screw was loose and that may of been why is started giving trouble. The old chain would not go very well at all on the new derailleur sprockets, but to be expected= replaced chain with a ~$40 sram. the fox float 36 fit 4 is way better, but the mid lock position is still pretty soft, the hard is good, the nx derailleur will easily go backwards now on any gear, Will upgrade rotor to ones with big cooling fins soon, all the pivot screws do need to be torqued occasional, but mainly the big one, dropper seat still working well enough have had to adjust the cable a little twice,
I can imagine the fox makes a good difference. Yeah you’ve spent a lot but Tbf as you said 2000kms and riding it hard that will take it toll on any bike. On reflection this was a good capable bike few cheap parts though. I have since sold it and being Covid crazy bike prices in uk I managed to get what I paid for the bike new 😊 I now have an enduro bike transition patrol which is twice the money and much better built tbh.
Hello...i have the scott 930..where abouts did you get the rock guards downtube protector pls?
From here www.rockguardz.com/
Mine is saber 400r it’s a very good set up 👍
Yeah I loved it bud great bit of kit it’s now sold :(
Did you change the rim? What s your tire size for both?? U said u changed a tire but into which size? I have the same bike and i was wondering if i can change the tire but the rim stays the same. And would it be feel awkward to ride when i change it to 27.5 ? Would it change the whole geometry? And lastly where did u get tht bottom bracket ? Did u buy it then where?? Thanks
Nope I stayed 29 Inch wheel obviously there is the option to go a 27.5 if you wanted. It would change things a little but the bikes built in mind to change your wheel size if you want. The chip near rear shock link would just need to be flipped which changes geo to run 27.5. In terms of tire width I went 2.5 on the rear and 2.4 up front. It works perfect and highly recommend it over the stock set up. You won’t lose grip and bike feels so much better doing doing it! Stock set up is far too wide imo. That’s from a company called rock guardz.
@@lewiscb9235 thank you very much yo. I always had a question about my bike but i couldnt find a solid answers like yours 👍🏿
@@lewiscb9235 and is tht website legitimate? Does it deliver to globally to any country??
@@seungminoh4765 they deliver globally yeah. They don’t do one exactly for 2021 or 2020 genius. I got the 2019 rock guard it fits but maybe a small bit sticky tape on few edges. It’s still snug enough for it not to come off without though www.rockguardz.com/delivery/
@@lewiscb9235 when i ride my bike i feel like i doesnt go as fast as the others. My friends have a 27.5 and accelerates so fast snd keep the speed. Before i get this bike i always kept up with my friends but now it kinda hard. It became harder somehow I definitely think it s bc of a wheel size. So you changed from 29x2.6 to 29x2.5 right? Is there any changes or is it better? And did u feel the same when you had a2.6 width
Nice bike bro 😀👍🔥 sub 🤙
Such a sick bike 🤟
Your steem must be really tight to stop creeking
Where did you get the cable tidy on the front that looks nice much better as loads of cables?
Mark Potts Scott actually add it to the bikes now to tidy it up 👍🏻
I need center resonator for my kms thunderstorm exhaust..as without it sounds quite raspy!
I did much prefer the sound of this with the resonated centre sec makes such a difference
Nice vid, I've just bought a 2021 Genius 960 The only difference I found was they put the nx rear derailleur, besides that not much difference except paint colour, I'm going update the Crankset to truvativ carbon and rear cassette (it weights over 700g! 'the cassette ) To a Sunrace 11/51. My headset does creak, going to grease it up and hope for the best. I did make a vid on it if you want to check it out. I think I might change my rear tyre as well. Thanks for the vid.th-cam.com/video/Mj6fxfIQUdY/w-d-xo.html
Awesome vid interesting to see they only upgraded the derailleur. I must say my sx gave up so quick on mine the GX is 👌🏻 colour is good too :)
@@lewiscb9235 yeah I heard the SX derailleur is BS and has a lot of plastic parts causing it to fail rather quickly. I really like the your orange colour too, I was hoping to get a run out deal but non available, bikes are selling like hot cakes apparently
What is the size of your bike, and your height?
It’s a Large I’m 5.11
@@lewiscb9235 thanks for the reply. How is it so far?
Kurt Denzel Flores it’s awesome very capable bike was hard to get used to coming from a 27.5 does feel very boaty first! Not quite as nimble as I’d like but it does hit the tech stuff well 👍🏻
@@lewiscb9235okay! Thanks for the reply. I have one coming this week. Cant wait to ride it.
Would you consider swapping to 27.5 as you can or stick with 29?
Did you get a hub service when you took your bike in to get the new derailleur and brakes fitted?
Hi , what size is the frame? M or L? Many thanks.
Adrian Muresan It’s a L
@@lewiscb9235 Thanks for reply, what is your height? I am trying to see what would be the best size for my height 1.82 cm . How does it feel in short curves? Many thanks.
Adrian Muresan I’m 5.11 whatever that is In cm think it’s about same height and it seems right to me! Hardest thing for me was getting used to 29er does feel a bit boaty compared to 27.5 but now I’m used to it I like it certainly not as nimble as smaller wheel though
Hello, I have the same bike and I live in Australia I have not upgraded anything. But it is my birthday soon and I am asking to get a GX derailleur and crankset. I was also going to get some new brakes not Magura but some Shimano 4 piston brakes do you. really think I would need them because I have done tests with stopping power and the 2 piston brakes are just as good. Have you noticed a difference?
Kye Watson hey :) definitely get the GX derailleur and crank the SX shouldn’t even be put on a bike imo. In regards to the brakes the standard 2 pot shimano aren’t that bad at all but it all depends on how your using bike. As I said I mainly use it at my local dh BikePark the stock brakes couldn’t handle the heat etc on steep descends and got brake fade. The 4 pots are obviously much more powerful but the biggest improvement for me is how much more progressive they feel and the modulation plus you don’t lose braking performance. There’s just not comparison but if you feel brakes are fine atm then stick with them. Enjoy 😊
@@lewiscb9235 Awesome! Thanks, heaps! Can you please tell me or make a video on your freehub noise because I think mine has gotten quieter and I'm just trying to confirm if it has?
Kye Watson mine did too actually 🤔 Strangely since being in the shop having derailleur etc sorted its back to normal
@@lewiscb9235 So it went quite and now its loud again?
Kye Watson yep was after the shop removed load parts etc to do work and service bike 👍🏻
I have the same bike just with golden Reverse Pedals, so fucking nice 😍 Never Ride a hardtail again
How does this climb?
That’s one of the best things about this bike it does actually climb very well it’s super light and like riding a cloud.
This bike isn”t good CHOICE 😔😔
😂😂 some parts are questionable as is any entry spec bike off the shelf! Nothing wrong a Scott genius thanks proven and tested by many 👍🏻
CHEAP breaks and rottors 🤮👏🤦 x fusion? Omg 🥱🥱🥱😂😂😂
Rottors? Presume you mean rotors 😂 I mean even if I got the top spec I’d still be getting a set of magura upgrades on so brakes weren’t an issue for me as they will be upgraded! same with suspension! I purchased it to abuse and upgrade with own choice of parts. Can’t go wrong with a Scott genius 👍🏻
This guy obviously has a problem... Thanks for being proactive replying to comments and sharing your experience. 👍🏼
nice! I have the same, where did you get the scott mudguard from???
Actually came with it :) although it now has a carbon one which is on my update vid
Stunning motor, mate! Perfect condition!
Thanks mate i do miss it for sure 😩😂
