Hey, my name is Julia. Let's make some art together ♡
MASSIVE sketchbook tour (yes, even the ugly ones) ⋆。°✩ 2010 - Now
Here it is folks, my artistic growth spanning over 14 years in excruciating detail. Please please please forgive how clipped and repetitive this is, I was fighting for my life editing this one ;;

Hii, I thought I'd reflect back on this summer a bit since it's coming to an end. I'm currently feeling very lost in my twenties, struggling to figure out the next steps to take with my art & my life. I know I'm definitely not the only one, but it's still easy to feel like I'm falling behind. Though, I have been trying to embrace that I'm a slow bloomer/ generalist at heart and also make more o...

Hi! I've been in a bit of a summer slump but I'm trying my best to get back into the swing of things! I've meant to upload this video for a while now and I hope it might resonate with someone else. Feel free to grab something and draw along (and forgive the unreal amount of times I flip my canvas ;;) Also!! I officially launched my INPRNT and this is now available as print! ♡ www.inprnt.com/gal...

Hello! It wasn't my intention to post this many videos of me talking in a row, but I really did want to share something for World MS day. Hopefully, it sheds some light on early MS symptoms and the importance of your health, as well as some (likely) common fears surrounding creative lifestyles! I feel a bit dramatic posting all this, but that's probably just the vulnerability talking. Thanks fo...

I'm in your walls telling you to stretch :) Maybe this all a bit obvious but I really do wish I started doing this sooner. Hopefully it's helpful for someone else too! It's been a bit since I've posted on here but I'm slowly getting back into it. Still very much exploring formats, so today was more of a chatty video with some sketching inbetween. this is the highest praise I could ask for
❤❤❤🎉
arcane😊!!!!!!!!!!! isha😢
I have a strange feeling that I know who was your character's dad... Have you ever noticed in yourself a desire to create a perfect society of the enlightened? I'm just asking
@@ВаряВетренная LOL well that would certainly explain the chronic illness
@fancysmudges exactly what I'm talking about. God, why does this make so much sence
Holy MOLY!
probably the best one to do the trend, cuz a lot of them will use jinx as the base haha
ATE OMG
For you’re art try drawing you’re self as a Zaun character
Ooh that be fun to contrast design elements!
I was scared this was an AI filter or something, but it's not, good job 👍
Only homegrown art over here 🫡
wowww clap
You look like the the fun piltie shopkeeper that everyone knows
Вау классно^^
Ton personnage est super mais j'aurais rajouté plus de volume sur le heut des cheveux 😉
Wowie!!! :0
Your channel is so u underrated :3
Anni the duck
you should drop a tutorial on how you nailed this!!
@@dabeezlyrics4050 I'm aiming to put together a style guide breakdown soon!

this is gorgeous!
@korny_cryptx thank you!
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE I DONT GET HOW PEOPLE ARE THIS GOOD AT DRAWING
she looks liek she’d be a councillor
This is actually a good attempt at the arcane artsyle. I’ve seen people even do their makeup using it and it hasn’t been as clear and well executed as yours! ❤
Aaa thank you!! 😭💕
AYYY THIS IS SO GOOD ITS SO ACCURATE
@@redsonthesilliest AAA TY! 💕
Stop 😭 why does my wife look like that? (Viktor)
This whole vibe 😭😗
i had a dream of Vi last night 😩🙃
I loved this Video sooo much 🌻🌼 Thanks for sharing this, I really needed to hear exactly that. :)Those Strawberries you drew are very cute and I really love all of the Orange and yellows in your Outfit and make up. You look so cool! ☀️🎨
Dyou take commissions?
Arcane charecters have some of the BEST looking jawlines👌
Studying Arcane jawline had helped me lol
@AdSoyad-rp1vm how did it help you? Like help me draw more arcane looking charecters?
@@theanextra235 so arcane use assaro head which defines small individual planes . In each planes try to gradiate color and add more definition. Add more dark shade around the eyes like she have drawn.
EXTREMELY UNDERRATED‼️‼️
Just looks like fortnite to me
This is so beautiful!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!! 🫶💕
How did you do the skin parts? If doesn’t make sense, how do you do the shading. I’m trying to do this but every time I try it always ends up looking like realism
I highly recommend looking at a planes of the face model (I use the Head Model Studio app but you can look up "MALE HEAD, LIGHT REFERENCE TOOL" on Artstation and find a free one there too) to understand how to stylize shading/shadows shapes. Also, using a flat painting brush is helpful for getting that painterly look!
И?
this is genuinally a good one cuz ive seen alot of people doing it but i dont see the arcane look. nailed it
Agree
real 😭
It is very hard to do, thats why. Not everyone can do that shading too, but they still are trying 💙
that's awesome, finally someone using skills instead of this ugly tt ai filter, I love your art ❤
Thank you!! 💕
Underataed brother
Thank you for just being honest. I bet you were surprised to see how many ppl relate. Me included.
Thank you so much for this video! I came across it because I do art as a hobby and tend to rush and to anticipate perfect results. I love the way you covered the challenge of accepting your own pace, getting less influenced by the trends and socal media. I think everything you said could be applicable for other occupations as well.
Everyone from Europe screen shots and zooms in on that map ph1 ❤😂😂😂
I appreciate your sharing your journey through this whole process. I just got diagnosed with adhd this year at 40, unfortunately the super low energy/brain fog kind that made me think I had an autoimmune disease, it’s been so bad. I work 4 jobs and my only way to get healthcare is to stay poor enough for my state’s medicaid program. It’s allowed me to get several diagnoses over the past two years, medication and treatment. It’s not super fun to juggle, but I’m hoping to be able to swap at least two of my jobs out for my art career one of these days. I initially saw your ‘it’s ok to work slow’ video and then saw this one. I wanted to offer encouragement to keep continuing on and stay open minded, flexible and think outside the box. If i’ve learned anything over the two decades I’ve been trying to make an art career for myself, it’s that another job can help you do your art, it doesn’t have to be your identity. Also extending your timeline out might not feel like an option, but it could help you to ultimately achieve your goals. But of course, do what’s best for you and know there are people out there relating to your story and wishing you the absolute best ❤
loved the tour even though i skipped a lot of the pre highschool books, i wanted to see "the good stuff" from highschool onward bc that s when i think ppl start getting serious and develop their styles etc. you make me think i should do more gestures :') also i would love to see the other college book you talked about in the end
The song you features is one of the lesser appreciated ones of Wills, glad you liked it enough to feature it!
Here from your tiktok!!! These are wonderful, keep up the amazing work
Thank youu! 🧡
improve with a back pack
Out of curiosity, What did you use to practice your anatomy in your 2021-2022 sketchbook? Was there anything additional to your college class that you used to practice? Any resources? I’m trying to practice my figure drawings so I don’t struggle with stiffness when drawing people and my own characters…. Loving the flow in your later sketchbook 🙌 I can tell you put a lot of time in
Hii, thank you!! I think a big part of it was the sheer amount of gestures I did for class, but I also used websites like quickposes.com/en/gestures/timed and www.adorkastock.com/sketch/ for additional warm-ups/ practice. Also, highly recommend looking at Mike Mattesi's books or videos - he does a great job of explaining force and flow in gestural drawing!! @@fancysmudges wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of these resources 💜✨ I really appreciate it! I’ll take a look at them and try and use them in some of my next sketchbook sessions 🙌 I hope I can get to a spot where I can draw forms and clothing as well and as freely as you 🤝
Please do the other sketchbooks! I love watching sketchbook tours! ❤
I also tend to use my sketchbooks for studying/making messes, so I loved seeing yours! I'd definitely be down for another tour through your other sketchbooks at some point 🥰
